Lovely hotel, great location reception staff were really helpful as we had to check out a few days early and move on last minute. Bar staff were ok but slow, probably need more staff.
Hotel is great clean and well located with great views of the sea and mountain/ volcano. Solarium is great up top. Pool is nice but very cold.
Only down side is the air con is clearly restricted. Despite saying it's set to 16°C it's blowing more like 20+.

A fantastic place to stay. Staff were amazing, very friendly and welcoming. Food was great, lots of choice. Pools are good, not too cold! Hotel was very clean. Entertainment in the evening a little tired but we sat out in the pool bar. The Spanish dancers were brilliant, we saw them a couple of times.
All in all a lovely hotel, will definitely be returning

My wife and I have been staying for a month in Puerto de la Cruz, Nov/Dec for many years. We like the subtropical climate as a break from the British winter.
We have stayed in many hotels but this is our first to this hotel.
We were very surprised when it was 87demanded that we pay up front, 100 euros towards our bar bill.
Since retirement we have stayed in hundreds of hotels in various parts of the world but we have never, ever, been asked to pay up front towards a bar bill.
I was very offended by this and asked what was the justification for this unique payment.
The only response was that "everybody has to pay it"
I asked if there was an alternatives and I was told that after dinner every evening I could pay by card. But with my bank every foreign currency transaction comes with a surcharge.
I was not warned about this payment by Jet2 nor have I seen any reference to it in any reviews.
Despite being contacting the hotel beforehand asking for a sunny room we have been allocated a north facing room with no sun whatsoever.
But in fact the room is ideal for us in that it is completely private and quiet.
The pool area is not for us. It is rather small and crowded. Some people like a Butlin Holiday Camp atmosphere with deafening music and playing games. They are welcome to it.
The staff, without exception are excellent, particularly in the restaurant.
The food is generally OK. Although the "full English" has bacon that has been factory formed and sliced into rectangles. There's never any mushrooms and the only sausages are the plastic hot dog style.
There is an excellent mini gym on the tenth floor and a solarium with is locked until any time between 8.30 and 9.30. The number of parasols is totally inadequate and half of the south facing sunbeds have no shade at all.
Our room can best be described as compact
There is an excellent mini fridge and a massive tv which on day 10 of our 28 days in this room has yet to be switched on. Instead of it being on the wall it is on a stand which takes up half of the work surface. Apart from two drawers in the bedside cabinets there are two tiny drawers in the wardrobes. Consequently we have quite a few things in cases under the beds.
From many years experience we always bring our own kettle and everything to go with it. Also we bring our own entertainment. Fortunately the WiFi is very good.
Apart from all the gripes a holiday is what you make it and we are making it good.

The hotel is great, we had halfboard and at dinner we didn't have even water to drink included. I understand to pay for alcohol, but to have lot of food and not even a glass of water included, is nonsense. We were informed at the reception when we arrived, the rest was good.

Great hotel with a fantastic view over the sea. Rooms perhaps a bit old, but that does not matter. Very friendly staff, good service and the food is the best, so tasty and good variety.
