1st trip to Egypt, lovely hotel, although dated in places, could do with a freshen up. The staff in the Massage & Spa are brilliant. 3 treatments and I'm feeling on top form. Thank you. Shout out to the member of staff who looked after our room( 1212) WONDERFUL Spotlessly clean every day. Thanks so much to reception staff that organised Flowers And birthday celebrations for my wife. She loved them Thank you for a wonderful fantastic holiday,

This place is disgraceful!! It should be shut down, me & my partner ended up coming back early as we contracted a viral infection we also was bitten by bed bugs, the people over there are only concerned about taking your money, the whole experience was awful definitely not a 5 star holiday! The food is left out so flys can get at them & is definitely not fresh. the men wouldn't leave you alone always harassing you, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, I wouldn't even them 1 star but I need to tell people this place is not worth booking up

Poor rooms, not 5 star at best 3 star, no plug in bath, tiles cracked, silicone around bath manky, grey towels that should be white, no cups to make tea/coffee. Generally low decorative standard but clean. I wouldn't stay here again.

My experience wasn't great. Eaten alive by bed bugs the first couple of days. The hotel did swap our room and totally fumigated the previous one. The hotel staff were amazing. Couldn't have done enough for us. The guy that book the excursions named Mido is an absolute con man. Booked us a trip that didn't even exist it cost £450 when challenged told numerous lies luckily we had proof in saved messages. After the hotel stepped in we were partially refunded but on returning found out some of the notes he gave us were fakes. Do not book through them they are dishonest, absolutely ruined our holiday with all the stress of it. Be very careful as I wouldn't want anyone else's holiday ruined like ours was.

This was my second stay at Il Mercato,, and while the staff's efforts to address issues were commendable, there are aspects of the property that need significant improvement. Unfortunately, these shortcomings prevent me from giving a full 5-star review, despite the excellent service. The hotel itself feels outdated, particularly the bathrooms, which are in need of refurbishment. To add to this, the tap water occasionally turned yellow, which was concerning. Another major issue was the presence of mosquitos, which persisted even after changing rooms. The new room also had mosquitos, and we even found dead, squashed mosquitos in the room and bathroom, indicating a lack of thorough cleaning and pest control. The challenges started with our initial room, which was uncomfortable in many ways. It was located near the breakfast area, making it very noisy from early morning, with loud conversations and shouting disturbing our peace. Combined with the mosquito problem, it was impossible to get a good night's sleep. By the second day, I brought these concerns to the reception desk. The staff at reception handled the situation professionally and promptly arranged a room change. I would particularly like to highlight Sayed from the concierge team for his exceptional assistance during this process. Sayed took the time to personally show me the new room first to ensure it met our expectations. Once I confirmed I was satisfied, he returned to help us move all our belongings. He carried our bags to the new room on the first floor and went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor truly stood out and helped mitigate our frustrations. The new room was a slight improvement only it was quieter and more comfortable compared to the first. However, the mosquito issue persisted, which was disappointing. The presence of dead mosquitos in the room and bathroom suggested that more attention to cleanliness and pest control is necessary. Overall, while the service from the staff, particularly Sayed concierge, was exceptional and helpful, the hotel’s maintenance issues and outdated facilities need attention. The bathroom upgrades, pest control measures, and overall cleanliness need to be improved to meet the expectations of a 5 star Hotel. Although I left with a generally positive impression thanks to the team’s professionalism and willingness to resolve issues, I do hope the management addresses these shortcomings. Until then, my review reflects a mixed experience great service but significant room for improvement in the property itself.
