My wife and I had the pleasure of spending our honeymoon at Karafuu Hotel in Zanzibar, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable — the staff were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel special throughout our entire stay.
The room we stayed in was absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views of the crystal-clear ocean. The attention to detail in the room's design and comfort made it the perfect retreat for relaxation after a day of exploring.
We also enjoyed the delicious food at the resort, with a variety of dishes that showcased the local flavors and international favorites. Every meal felt like a treat, and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch.
Karafuu is a true gem in Zanzibar, offering not only luxurious accommodations but also exceptional hospitality. It was the perfect destination for our honeymoon, and we couldn't have asked for a more memorable experience. Highly recommend!

As you enter this mansion you have to pass a heavy guarded gate. One inside you drive along to the main entrance which looks impressive. We were welcomed and could use all facilities but the rooms were not ready yet (at 1100am). The hotel is located directly at the ocean and is surrounded by many beautiful palm trees.

Overall we had a great time. Location is amazing, right on the beach with wonderfull view.
The swimming pool is a must, very close to the beach, with a nice bar and activities.
The rooms are ok, but some improvement woukd be very welcome.
The staff is very friendly, helpful and eficient.
In general the hotel's facilities are fine.
The only caveat are the local sellers arressing visitors on the beach.
Just a detail: the snocker table is in bad condition.

We had the best week ever with our children and their families. Seventeen of us at times, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff of the Karafuu. They re-arranged tables and chairs to accommodate us all, they prepared fries on evenings when they weren't offered for my grandson who wouldn't eat anything else on offer. (His loss, the food choices were amazing).
This is our 6th visit to the Karafuu and we shall return, God willing.
We love the location, the staff is caring and hardworking and it's just all round excellent.

This is a wonderful place to dip your toe into Zanzibar, for your first experience. The staff are amazing ( hi to Hassan, Zephora, Frederick, Esa, Juleas, Muhammad, Peter) and many, many more. They all wear name tags. I can only share many moments that we had there for you to make up your own mind. My only personal need is to be able to go off site when I need a break from a resort, in between trips; there is nothing else to do in the vicinity within walking distance.
