A lovely hotel. Beautiful place. Would give it a 4 star as we had been promised a few things upon check-in by a sweet talking receptionist. However we never got it. The staff were very welcoming, but a bit biased. The rooms were very well kept. The pool and beach are were also excellent. The food was however dissaoponting,especially the vegetarian section. There was eggplant dishes in all the three courses everyday, which was monotonous. However the chefs were very good especially chef Desi who went out of his way to serve us good food. Apart from the reception and food, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to a friend.

This was our second stay at a LUX hotel, after staying at LUX Belle Mare, which we absolutely loved. Also this time, we were very happy with our choice. LUX Marijani is located at a beautiful beach that is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The hotel is very clean and the staff is incredibly friendly. We are very picky when it comes to hygiene and cleanliness, but at LUX Marijani we felt super comfortable the entire time. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly twice a day, the maids really do a fantastic job. The food was great as well, we especially enjoyed the omelet and crepes station at breakfast and the changing menu at the main restaurant. The BBQ at the beach was always a highlight, as well as the pasta station. Desserts were also very nice and beautifully decorated. We also appreciated the little sweet treats that were brought to our room daily or the watermelon that was served at the beach. It’s the little extras that make us really love the LUX hotels. Every night, there is some sort of entertainment, dancers, singers or acrobats, which was great, since there is not much around the hotel. The hotel garden, pool and beach area are beautiful and very well maintained. We especially want to thank Murshid, Ibrahim, Aloyce, David and Mustapha for doing such a great job and for making us feel very welcomed. We are definitely returning to LUX Marijani.

What a dream! My stay here was magical. Big shout out to Furaha who really looked out for me and went out of her way to make sure my stay was comfortable. Also would like to mention Charles and David who surprised me with a beautiful birthday treat and provided amazing service throughout. The location is perfectly situated by the beach, the rooms were clean and spacious and the food was awesome! Wow. Please don’t hesitate to stay here if you’re planning on visiting the gorgeous island of Zanzibar.

We arrived at the airport and tried contacting the hotel for pickup, but no one answered. Thankfully, some kind local people helped us get in touch. We had a meal at the hotel’s Samaa restaurant, but unfortunately, several dishes were overpowered with lemon juice, and a few items were difficult to eat. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and kind, but they do need more training. Some staff members were not confident using the card machine or even opening a bottle of wine. As Asian travelers, we are happy to pay the price when it reflects the quality, but in this case, the value did not meet our expectations. Based on our experience, this hotel feels more like a 3-star property. The gym and spa are both very small, and the food quality needs significant improvement. One unusual experience was being greeted by staff with “Hello my friend,” which we had never encountered at a hotel before. Additionally, the free water at the pool and beach should be properly checked and cleaned before serving to guests. Overall, this was our first and last stay at this hotel.

Wonderful oasis in the middle of a hot, dusty environment surrounded by the Indian Ocean. Fantastic staff, lovely spa, very clean rooms and beach front access. What more can you ask for? Came here with my 4 adult children and couldn't be happier.
