This is our second time here at Riu Palace, the reason why wanted to visit again is because of the great experience we had the first time. This included visiting the nice beaches and enjoying the great food of Zanzibar. We noticed the quality of food is not quite the same as our first experience. For example, there were some Zanzibar traditional foods we enjoyed the first time which are not in the menu anymore. Overall the atmosphere and views are spectacular and the beaches right on the Riu property are clean, safe, well monitored while offering a local flavor of the culture here in Nungwi. While the food has gone downhill, one improvement to acknowledge is the water sports facilities between the Riu properties at the beach. Paddle boards, jet skis, daytime and sunset cruises and more are available right on the property. The spa is a little overpriced; if they offered a reasonable couples massage with ocean views, it might increase the participation in that area. The pools are also nice the staff all around is very attentive. One other observation, the entertainment could use a slight upgrade. When the hotel is full of guests, many are looking to dance or enjoy the evening without leaving the property. The entertainment should encompass more local music and themes not necessarily European or Western genres; the guests in general would prefer to soak up the local culture, music and arts scene as opposed to playing popular cover type songs.

The beach and the sunsets are spectacular. The buffet quality is very good as are the staff. Stayed in the cheapest room and it was 3 star standard (minibar door hanging off, mosquito door didn’t slide, etc). The main drawback for us however was the cheap package holiday vibes - you have to fight for the sunbeds, they only allow you one towel each, there is a massive bar complex taking up too much space in front of the beach and blaring music all day, and a large cohort of guests just get wasted in the pool all day. The beach area is very loud between the bar and the party boats and hawkers. It’s not very peaceful or private. Zuri next door looked like a better bet for us in hindsight.

Had the best time on our honeymoon at this resort. So many pools to choose from and the beach was beautiful. Tons of activities and nightly shows. The food was AMAZING as were the cocktails at all of the different bars. They went above and beyond for our honeymoon and sent us a bottle of champagne with a singing server as well as upgraded our room. Thank you
Christopher ,Mariam, Veronica ,Mary, Sophie
& Jimmy for making our stay so much fun. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

We had an amazing honeymoon at the adults only Riu Palace Zanzibar. The staff made us feel very special, they noted we were honeymooners upon our check in from their notes and arranged a lovely bed set up upon our arrival with swans and a happy honeymoon greeting. The food was delicious. My only comment is to ensure you book all restaurants the minute you check in. The resort has 3 restaurants and the sister resort has more restaurants. It’s very hard to get bookings so make reservations upon checking in to avoid having to eat at the buffet every night (the food is lovely but you’d want to make the most of the restaurants on site). The pools were great, staff are so attentive, great cocktails, rooms are clean and beautiful.

Great resort! I had an amazing holiday here. The staff really made it fantastic, shout out to Joyce and Hadija, and the rest of the staff who were all exceptional.
The food was above my expectations, especially the buffet, which had a great selection of well prepared dishes.
The rooms were large and peaceful.
The private beach was a bonus, the water is so blue and clean. Would definitely return here.
