A good hotel, good food, very clean, one of the pools was nice and warm! Recommended. Niggles? Entertainment more suited to clubbers than those over 40: replenishment at meals often not timely: why did someone think a glass wall only partially frosted a good idea for a bathroom? Toilet door also glass. But niggles aside we had a good time. Also practically on the beach and excellent free WiFi. Not much to do in the village, but buses nearby.

Interior
+ nice timeless and minimal interior design;
- the interior condition is poor - needs repair and renovation (leaky shower, broken tiles, moisture damaged doors, rusty mirror, crumbling clay, holes in bedding and towels, ants in bathroom);
Staff
+/- staff is very friendly, but there is some space for improvement (at first day I asked for ashtray, which was missing in the balcony - we did not receive it even though we stayed for a whole week);
Food and drinks
+ I was surprised by the quite wide selection of inclusive alcohol and drinks were quite strong, taste wise it was ok;
+/- there was quite wide variety of food options, some food in my opinion was tasty, some food was really bad, but you could always find something good enough and eat till you’re full;
- the most disappointing thing was the fishy mangoes and tomatoes - looks like someone in the kitchen doesn’t wash their knives or cutting boards that well;
Spa and pools
+/- pools were clean, but their working hours (from 10 till 18) were inconvenient for us;
+/- I was quite surprised that spa is not included in all inclusive package, it costs extra 15eur/90min (for hotel clients);
Location
+/- location is very calm which is quite nice, but there is not much to see around this location - town is quite small so - 1 or 2 hikes around and it is not that interesting anymore, (must see the cave nearby);
+/- however, if you rent a car, the location is quite convenient - because you can say that the hotel is located in the center of the island and trips to the other sides of the island are a similar distance away;
+/- weather wise it looks that hotel location is more on the cloudy area of the island, because we got way more sun on other areas of the island, but maybe that was just during our trip (on December).

This hotel is perfect in all ways other than the location. It's in the middle of no where. Car hire is essential. The beach is rocky and you can't lay on it. The level of cleanliness is 10 out of 10 as are all the staff. Manuel Omar and Naomi all stand out. Food is food and selection good. All inclusive drinks are not good. Local Spar shop and fridge in your room solves this issue. Poolside music from loud boom box very irritating. Some nice chill relax music would be better. Lifeguard works hard to keep pools clean and tidy. All in all OK but we wouldn't come again. We found much nicer beaches and locations driving about.

I am a solo traveller.
The hotel as a whole is superb. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always smiling, and they work very hard for you.
I booked a junior suite, which had a balcony over the poolside, but it didn't get so noisy it disturbed you. The room was clean and made up with new towels every day, even without putting the door slip on.
The food is varied every day and for every meal time. Superb selection provided.
2 pools available, one of them heated. The only downside is that states clearly don't reserve your lounger, but alas every lounger has a towel on it in the places where the sun shines all day long. Towels placed there at dawn !
The pool bar and lounge bar have a variety of drinks to pick from, and again, only downside is they have one bar person working... long queues for a drink at times.
I had an hour spa and massage to follow. Massage was relaxing and worth the money. The actual spa was lovely but the staff didn't tell you where to go or what to do first.
The hotel is on a black sand beach with a spa close by ( walking distance) but nothing else there. You can hire a car for little money and explore and or take a bus but don't expect to be entertained outside the hotel. This place is to escape, enjoy peaceful, relaxing unwind time.
I would highly recommend R2 hotels and would book again

Just back from a few days here with my friend. We read reviews before we went and were a bit apprehensive, but needn’t have worried. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, certainly no rush to go and secure them at sunrise.
Food was plentiful and good quality, I wasn’t keen on the fish night but that’s preference.
The room was clean and large enough that we weren’t under each other’s feet. The balcony was nice with a table and chairs to sit at and a small airer for wet swimwear.
Plenty of wardrobe space, a TV, desk and a safe if you wanted it.
The bathroom could do with being refurbished, but so long as it’s clean, it’s fine.
The housekeeping was really good, beds made daily and floors swept and mopped.
People moaning about lack of beach-look at a map of where you’re going before you book! You’ll see what’s in the vicinity and decide whether it’s for you or not. It’s very quiet at the bottom end of the island, and that’s just what we wanted.
Overall really pleased and would go back again.
