We stayed at Sakala Resort Nusa Dua for just one night, and overall, it was a nice experience. The resort itself is beautiful with great facilities. The infinity pool overlooking the beach was amazing — we truly enjoyed the stunning views and relaxing vibe. There’s also another pool inside the hotel building, which was great too. The only downside was the room design — it had too many partitions, which made the space feel smaller and a bit less inviting. However, since it was just a short stay, it didn’t bother us much. Overall, a lovely resort with great pools and beachside charm!

I rarely write reviews, but this one is necessary. Our stay at The Sakala Resort Bali All Suites was a nightmare. After eating only food from the hotel – both restaurant and room service – my wife and I became seriously ill with Bali Belly. A doctor confirmed food poisoning. My wife was so sick she couldn’t breastfeed our baby for several days. We were weak, scared, and stuck in our room needing medical help, while the hotel staff showed zero empathy or responsibility. The hygiene here is shocking. We saw staff washing dishes and glasses in the bathroom sink. For a so-called five-star resort, this is simply unacceptable. We were forced to check out nine days early because we didn’t feel safe staying there. To make it even worse, the hotel later cancelled our booking, which means we couldn’t post a review on Booking.com — an obvious attempt to silence us. This place is not safe, not clean, and not family-friendly. If you value your health and your peace of mind, do not stay at The Sakala Resort Bali All Suites. Update/Response to the hotel’s comment (October 2025): I appreciate that the hotel took the time to respond, but several statements in their reply are unfortunately not accurate. We had only been in Bali for two days before falling ill, and during that time we exclusively ate at the hotel — both at the restaurant and through room service. The hotel mentioned that we only ordered a Margarita pizza and French fries, but that is incorrect. We also ordered a quesadilla, which the hotel manager was informed about during our stay. Both my wife and I became sick shortly after, and our condition was medically confirmed as food poisoning. This was documented and reported to both the hotel and Booking.com. Regarding hygiene, we personally witnessed a staff member rinsing glasses in the bathroom sink — not in a designated kitchen area, as the hotel claims. It is understandable that the hotel wishes to protect its reputation, but that does not change what we actually saw. Additionally, the hotel canceled our booking before the end of our original stay period, while our refund request was still being reviewed. This meant the hotel could re-sell the same room and profit from it, even though our case was ongoing. Offering that we could “come back later” to use the remaining days is unrealistic, as we live approximately 20 hours away from Bali and will not be returning anytime soon. All we wanted was to be met with understanding and receive a refund for the remaining days, so that our trip could have turned into a better experience. Instead, the hotel chose to make the situation even more difficult, which sadly damaged our overall impression of Bali. I stand by my review and by the experience we had. My intention is not to harm anyone, but to share an honest account so that other families can make informed choices when traveling.

I recently stayed at The Sakala Resort in Nusa Dua, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The location is great, close to the beach and in a calm area perfect for relaxation. The swimming pool is beautiful, spacious, and very inviting. My room with direct pool access was just amazing, clean, comfortable, and felt very private. The beach bar is a lovely spot to relax, and the staff were always friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. A special big thanks to Gita, the beautiful, very welcoming, and professional waitress at the Terrace Restaurant — she truly made my experience even more enjoyable with her kindness and service. The food at the hotel was good, with a wide variety of options in the restaurants. The only area that needs improvement is the breakfast buffet. While it has a great spread with Balinese, Indian, and even a Chinese corner, as a Muslim and vegetarian, I found very limited choices. Apart from hash browns, eggs, fruit, and toast with peanut butter & jam, there wasn’t much else available for me. I think adding more vegetarian-friendly options would make a big difference. Overall, a beautiful resort with great facilities — just hope they improve the breakfast selection for vegetarians.

We’ve enjoyed staying at The Sakala Resort! The staff were super friendly, rooms are neat and welcoming, resort well established and central. Lots of different amenities to enjoy such as the beach club, pools, free shuttle service to Bali Collection and amazing daily buffet breakfast. The resort's central location made it easy to travel to various parts of Bali with minimal traffic restrictions, and there are lots of restaurants/bars/shops just walking distance from the resort. We also enjoyed renting a scooter for easy transport and the resort has ample underground parking to accommodate this. We also received regular sweet treats from the resort left in our room to enjoy after a hot day out exploring. Thank you Sakala for making our stay wonderful and adding to the beautiful memories we have of Bali 🌺

What a absolutely lovely property. Everything from the staff, the rooms and the food is top notch!! All the staff that we interacted with were sooooooo friendly and nothing was too much for them.. the bar staff are also very engaging and knowledgeable when ordering drinks. The breakfast buffet spread is great with an awesome array of food and drink items available.
