Kanishka Villas

In September 2025, my friend and I visited Indonesia for the first time. We stayed in three hotels/villas in Bali. Our second lodging was Kanishka Villas and we stayed here for two nights. Kanishka Villas was nice but it is a little outdated. Our villa had two rooms but one was upstairs and the other was downstairs in a separate building. My friend and I didn’t want to share a room but we at least wanted to be in the same building. Then the power outlets did not take American plus. My friend and I have voltage converters but of course we left them at home. I asked the front desk and they provided two, one for me and one for my friend. I loved our pool at our villa. At night we only heard the water from the pool so this was nice we didn't hear any noise. Sadly, when we stayed at Kanishka Villas, Bali had 48 hours of rain so we never got to experience the pool. I guess we could have swam in the rain but we didn’t. I love the size of the second floor bedroom. It was bigger than the first floor bedroom. It was interesting the beds had mosquito nets around them. Our first hotel did not have mosquito nets. I like the fact that Kanishka Villas knew mosquitos or bugs would be an issue and wanted us protected when we slept. When I went into the bathroom, I understood why the beds had mosquito nets. The bathrooms were open to outside. I thought this was interesting due to Bali being a rainforest island. I believe having open bathrooms would have been nice in a dessert. I kept the bathroom door closed. When I needed to use the bathroom at night, I did not turn on the light because I did not want more bugs to come. Downstairs area did not have a bathroom. The first floor bedroom had an open bathroom as well. Kanishka Villas staff was nice. We enjoyed the breakfast that came with our booking. I enjoyed exploring Seminyak. We went to dinner at Papa Lee's Taiwan Teppanyaki Steak House and Wild Habit Pizza. We shopped around after we finished dinner each night.

My family and I stayed here for a week recently, and booked multiple villas. We were overall disappointed, especially with what we paid and what you can get in Bali for the same amount. The photos look better than what you get, and especially with the one bedroom jetted tub. ROOMS The two-bedroom villa with pool was way more modern, much more comfy and inviting. The one-bedrooms were old and tired, all the doors (except main entrance) couldn't lock or close properly. Mosquito net looked and felt grubby, and same with bed sheets, curtains and whatever tapestry was hung behind the head of the bed. Floor looked worn and dusty. Lamps were lop-sided, wonky desk chair. The drains in the sink and tub... mouldy. The only positives were the shower (good pressure and temp), and the mini bar-fridge (was old, but did the trick). And, all of these rooms are located upstairs, which was not mentioned prior to arrival. SERVICE I thought service was poor. Staff were nice enough, but none of them went the extra mile for us when we presented them with an opportunity. E.g. 1. I was asking about laundry options and they basically just said they don't offer a laundry service. One of my family members arranged for her washing to be picked up from reception, and when it was completed and returned back to reception, instead of rolling the suitcase back down to the villa (not far away btw) they called the villa to tell us to come collect. 2. When I asked housekeeping for extra toilet paper (because you need it in Bali), his reaction was annoyance and then he just left without giving me any. 3. The second toilet in our villa was locked and couldn't open. FOH staff and other housekeeping staff pretty much told us too bad, you'll all have to use the upstairs bathroom. It wasn't until a guy came to the villa later in the evening to check something else, that we asked him the same question, and he managed to sort it by arranging for someone climb up and over to unlock from inside. 4. On our first day, we were told by FOH that staff would come around every evening to do all the mosquito prep for the villa i.e. let the nets down, light mosquito coils, and spray. I really appreciated it the first night because with the villa being so open, there were many bugs and creatures in the villas. But that was the only time that happened. The second night I had to call and ask for it, and then I gave up after that. LOCATION Is perfect. Close to a mini-mart, pharmacy, and Frestive supermarket. Also heaps of places to eat, nail salon, bar etc. I thought our driver had pulled up to the wrong place - don't expect anything particularly inviting. The reception area is quite literally a small room in what looks (at first) to just be an alley way. I wouldn't stay here again, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I spent my Nyepi holiday at this villa with my family. We booked a villa with 2 bedrooms & the villa is very spacious with an open space style, a private swimming pool, and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast had many options, ranging from Indonesian food to Western dishes. The location is very strategic, close to restaurants, spas, and even the beach is nearby.

Place was comfortable. Except that the jacuzzi was not exactly that clean as it has some residue coming out of the water outlet. But overall ambience was great. Housekeeping was done regularly to prevent mosquitoes from breeding.

Himanshu Vaish

Stayed at this place for 2 days in our recent trip to Bali. This place is surrounded by really nice restaurants, nearby beach clubs and necessities. The rooms are extremely good and staff is very helpful and polite. We also asked them for some special arrangements for an occasion which they did with perfection. Would highly recommend this place to stay in Seminyak.
