The villa we had was beautiful, the most gorgeous place to stay, well set in the hillside and next to a beach with a gorgeous sand and clear warm sea. The pool was lovely and the gym great. However, for the price we paid, it lacked a little of the smaller touches on service and room could have had small things like fruit etc. the quality of the food at breakfast could also have been better. The choice was great but the freshness and quality of produce should have been a little more for this standard of hotel. Sooo much potential and small changes would make this totally stand out

We chose this place for our honeymoon and couldn't have been happier! It's in a fantastic location on Kata Beach, far enough from the noise of Patong for a peaceful retreat. The rooms were spacious and came with a stunning private pool, which we absolutely loved. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly, making our stay truly enjoyable. Also, there’s loads of activities you can book directly from the hotel such as The Spa, ATV and Elephant Sanctuary!

Breathtaking sea view but the hotel provides *local* 5 star quality, not international 5 star hotel quality. We stayed at anantara for a few nights before staying here in the same room category with a very similar price, but the quality was incomparable.
The rooms need to be renovated as all the sliding glass doors were not functioning properly. The glass door in the bathroom to the outdoor sitting area wouldn't close properly so there was always a gap. You can tell it hasn't been taken care of in a while.
The daily cleaning also needs to be improved: the staff insisted on putting the duvet with the open side towards the pillows so when we slept the duvet cover would uncover the filling inside, and there was no way to close the opening. We asked them to keep the opening towardthe foot of the bed to avoid that but they kept reversing it for some reason.
There was also a dead gecko inside the sliding door rail of the pool that seemed to have been there for a long time because it was dried up. It just seems that the cleaning is a quick job.
The linens also should be better quality for a 5 star hotel as well as the bed itself it was not comfortable.
The food quality can also be improved such as providing fresh juices instead of bottled, improving quality of breads and pastries etc.
The spa is also not the best quality.
In general the sea view villa has an incredible view which is the highlight of the entire stay. Otherwise you need to manage expectations of a "luxury" 5 star hotel.

My wife and I had a delightful 7 night stay at The Shore in a Sea View Pool Villa Romance room.
Good Points:
- the staff are universally welcoming, helpful, warm and efficient. We didn't have one negative interaction.
- the room and pool was every bit as good as the photos show, clean and modern
- the breakfast was one of the best I've experienced at a resort. The multi-cultural guest profile means that every type of breakfast need is catered.
- we took the half-board and it was cost effective for dinners.
- the local beach is warm and great for swimming. It's so close you can use a lounge by the hotel pool and walk to the beach for a swim instead of sitting on the beach.
Average Points:
- the half-board fixed menus are quite limited and the food (other than breakfast) was not that inspiring. In fact the food at the nearby sister resort, included in half-board, was mostly better, but still not great.
- Gym / exercise room: there were a couple of machines that weren't in working order but it was clean. The gyms at the sister resort were bigger but we didn't use them.

The resort is wonderful and it is adults only. We were on our third week in Thailand and this was a perfect place to relax and have some downtime. The rooms are gorgeous each with its own pool. The water in the pool is warm, and you can hang out there all day. The rooms are elevated with windows all around showcasing a spectacular view, overlooking the beach and the ocean 🌊.... So beautiful! The bathroom was very spacious with double sinks, separate water closet, shower was large with lots of water pressure, and a soaker claw tub. The room has lots of closet space, a safe, mini bar and makeup desk. The bed was very comfortable with soft sheets. The resort is on a hill and there are golf carts that are available 24/7 Ann you need to do is call or use the resort app to order a driver to pick you up. We never waited more than 2-3 minutes. The restaurant had a great selection of food for breakfast, and the staff was amazing. Always smiling and happy to serve. We had breakfast included in our package, and it was a huge buffet with cooking stations for eggs, pancakes and more! Delicious coffee and cappuccino! You can sit inside with air conditioning or outside with an ocean view. There is a main pool by the restaurant with lots of lounge chairs and tables for you to enjoy. We had lunch at the pool bar a few times. If you love the beach you can easily access it from the main pool. A few steps down and the beach ⛱️ is right there there. Because this resort is at the end, it was not as busy as the beach further down. We loved it! Chairs on the beach are separate from the resort and are for rent. 200 Baht ($8 CDN) for an umbrella and two chairs with a table. Beach towels we would bring from the resort and there were always lots of towels available.
We would definitely recommend this place and we would love to come back!
