We were back at The Slate again. This was definitely our eighth or maybe even ninth stay, and we always love coming back. Sure, the journey from Europe takes a long time, but The Slate is always worth it. We always choose a Private Pool Suite and were delighted again this year. Great room and a great garden with a private pool. The garden is partially covered and has a wide daybed, so you can enjoy the outdoor area even when it rains. The garden and pool are thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis. The restaurants in the complex are of high quality and can be recommended without reservation at ultimately acceptable prices. I am already thinking about returning to our “second home in Thailand” in 2026. Once again, many thanks to the entire team and especially to Peter from Inga and Andreas We always enjoy coming to The Slate and are already looking forward to a future stay. Please keep up the good work at this high level. We enjoyed it very much once again.

It was our first time at the hotel, and we were excited to stay after reading so many glowing reviews. The property was beautiful, and the hotel added some thoughtful touches when I mentioned we were celebrating my husband’s birthday, which we truly appreciated. However, our overall experience was marred by a few instances of inconsistent service. On several occasions, it was raining when we took the buggy from the lobby back to our block. There was no sheltered drop-off, and the driver did not offer an umbrella or to shelter us to our room, which was disappointing. After checking out, we left our luggage with the concierge and provided an estimated pickup time. When we returned later than expected, we were surprised to find our bags sitting unattended at the lobby’s pickup/drop-off point. The staff only verified ownership after we initiated it, which did not feel secure. Lastly, while we didn’t mind loading our own bags onto our Grab, it was discouraging to see all the bell staff rush to assist another guest at the same time but not offer us any help. Overall, while there were some thoughtful gestures, these lapses made the service feel uneven and below expectations for a hotel of this standard.

I came here with my daughter for a week from Bangkok. We really love this beach, but it’s our first time staying at this hotel. Everything is super convenient — you can book and arrange everything through the hotel’s app. The resort has a huge territory with many activities for both adults and children, all easily bookable via the app. There are several swimming pools for adults and a separate pool area for families with kids. Some rooms and villas also come with private pools. We especially enjoyed the Kids Club — a big thank you to the lovely staff for the fun activities and creative crafts for the little ones. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for families traveling with children.

Overall 5/5 experience, cannot fault anything! The breakfast buffet was amazing and slightly changed everyday, the had an egg, noodle and crepe station. The rooms were amazing, staff friendly and attentive, the overall outlay of the resort was calm, boutique and impressive. Black ginger(their main restaurant) was exceptional, and the cooking class we did on our last day was again a 5/5 experience.

Mixed bag. Check in was sloppy, we arrived at night and had to wait almost 20 mins to check in… Nice & spacious room, but clear age on the doors, and we had some dirty glasses, which were pretty obvious. The general resort is well designed but could use some refurbishment… some areas look a little worn. PSA It is a big resort with 3 pools, the pool near the gym is much nicer than the pool near to blocks ABCD. Breakfast had a large variety but wasn’t incredible. No direct beach access; there’s a gate and a walk to the beach. Overall if you are looking for a gateway & beach access, The Surin is a better bet; but if you have family and prioritise being near to the airport it’s not a bad option. I was surprised that they had a tennis court and so many leisure facilities like billiards.
