As a consultant who has advised several top-tier international hotels, I feel it’s important to point out a few critical issues that need to be addressed in order for this hotel to maintain customer loyalty and achieve long-term success. I want to emphasize that most of my concerns are with management decisions, not the staff, who are generally very polite and eager to assist. 1. The Food The buffet is highly repetitive, and unfortunately, the quality does not meet the standard expected of a hotel. It often feels more like a school cafeteria, with the same rice, pasta, and fish offered almost daily. There are no special theme days featuring international or local cuisine options (such as taco, sushi, or kebab days). The chicken served is often random cuts with many bones, which is quite disappointing. Additionally, drink service during lunch and dinner is notably slow—there were times when I had nearly finished eating before my drink arrived. It’s also surprising that basic snacks like popcorn or chips aren’t available throughout the day at an all-inclusive resort. The only snack offered is peanuts from the bar between 6-7 PM, which coincides with dinner time, making it rather impractical. Furthermore, after 10 PM, there’s no food or snacks available at all, even if you’re willing to pay extra, which is quite limiting. 2. Bar and Drinks We were caught off guard by the fact that the bar stops serving drinks at 10:45 PM, which feels early, especially for a hotel that isn’t geared toward children. Even with an all-inclusive package, only a limited selection of cocktails is available—around 8-10 options—while others must be purchased. The service at the bar is also quite slow in the evening, especially considering it’s the main activity after dinner. On one occasion, we waited over 15 minutes for drinks. Given that the bar closes extremely early, adding more bartenders during peak times would greatly improve the guest experience. 3. Activities While it’s positive that the hotel offers external activities twice a day like boat trips and snorkeling, the on-site activities are lacking and underwhelming. There’s a noticeable shortage of animators or entertainers, which leaves the hotel feeling quite dull during the day. 4. Cleanliness Upon our arrival, we found that our duvet (not the cover) was heavily stained, which was very off-putting. Although the staff replaced it promptly after we brought it to their attention, the hotel should discard heavily stained duvets and mattresses, even if they’ve been cleaned. This is a hotel, not a military barracks. Additionally, the bathroom counter still had glass stains from previous guests, which wasn’t a great first impression. 5. The Weather While this is beyond the hotel’s control, I want to mention it for future guests: during our stay, the beach was extremely windy, making it difficult to enjoy the ocean. It would be wise to check the weather and wind conditions before planning a trip. In light of the price the hotel is charging, it’s crucial that management addresses these issues. Sadly, I can’t say I fully enjoyed my stay.

Our suntans will fade and we'll lose the extra kilos, but the memories of our stay in paradise will neither fade, nor be lost. We slept like babies, ate like kings, indulged in cocktails, danced with abandon, took part in all activities with vigour .... and the amazing staff at the Veranda Palmer Beach Hotel watched over us and made sure we did everything "right". Any request was dealt with promptly and speedily and always with a smile! Nothing was too much trouble, too awkward, nor ever at an inconvenient time. A huge thank you to all .... from the welcoming staff at reception, to the amazing chef and waiters, friendly gardeners, efficient house keeping (we always looked forward to the "towel art" on the bed), boat house, entertainment & exercise staff, security .... each and everyone one of you left some kind of lasting memory! Nice place to chill with family. The staffs are welcoming and helpful. We visited the hotel for the second time. Our children liked the heated swimming pool. On the flip side, I felt that the kids club could be a little bit more organized. The staffs should be trained to ensure safety of the children under their responsibility at all times.

The hotel is beautiful, however, the housekeeping is bad. I saw a rat and few cockroaches in the restaurant. The rooms were not properly cleaned. There is very little entertainment outside the hotel and visitors must know that they may be stuck in the hotel and on the beachfront in order to have fun.

Rose, the staff member who welcomed us, was incredibly warm and informative, even taking the time to give us a quick tour of the hotel to show us where everything was located, including the restaurants and pools. Throughout our stay, Samantha, Navin, and Deena were consistently attentive, checking in with us often to ensure we had everything we needed. Had 10 nights in Mauritius at the ambre spa resort. Rooms are very dated ours had a big crack in the sink cemented back together holes in bed sheets that they just turned other way round so it was at bottom of the bed. They left our patio door unlocked twice after cleaning the room and as we were on ground floor total security issue. One towel allowance is not great any other all inclusive adults only in the Caribbean is help yourself. Food not much choice and is the same every day no variation in dishes. Last breakfast there was no bacon how can you not have bacon ???? Beach very rocky and very murky hardly any fish to see snorkelling more seaweed than fish. Had a coconut massage in the spa no coconut used no smell like back home when you have them. Biggest highlight of stay was SHAM at the coral bar. Amazing service remembered the drinks we have from first time serving us and would always greet us find us a table and always when getting on low ask if we wanted another. This guy is amazing and has potential to shine in this industry. SHAM needs rewarding he is hard working dedicated and his service skills are very rare to find these days when visiting a resort. If you say to him glass of rose and rum and coke he knows who we are. We were expecting tropical paradise but unfortunately for us the Caribbean is much more tropical and all round pleasant in every way

We went for our teambuilding on an all inclusive day package! The organization of everything was first class. The sports and leisure team is awesome. We had a great time with all the games that they prepared! The food was awesome! The service impeccable. I give a 11 out of 10 to Solana beach hotel services!

We spent a few days here for our honeymoon and had mixed feelings. We had so much fun playing games with Milena & Chris. The Diwali festivities were a great touch. The view is simply beautiful and we enjoyed the room and the gym. And they have a great coffee machine for cappuccinos as of 10AM. Also food was fairly decent for an all inclusive buffet style ! However, there were some downsides : - the staff is veryy pushy to sell you extra services and unfortunately although this is portrayed as an all inclusive, most things are an extra fee. This was very disappointing. Even for our honeymoon, they offered a special dinner in a special location but the only free option was « taken » so we had to pay an extra fee for something that was meant to be complimentary. We still enjoyed it though! - we constantly had to sign off bills even if we didn’t order anything nor had to pay an extra fee. We really think this resort would benefit from using a bracelet method to identify who is on an all inclusive plan and who is not. - the cocktails available for the all inclusive package were impossible to drink. It tasted very chemical and superficial. It really felt like they purposely did so that you would feel the urge to spend money on drinks that aren’t part of the package - what seemed to be a hot tub was really just a tiny colder pool and the pool is quite underwhelming Something to keep in mind : bring water shoes or else you’ll have a hard time enjoying the shore! It’s not a sandy beach Overall, we managed to enjoy our stay but nothing stood out enough for us to come back

The views and location of this resort was incredible. The rooms looked nice, but the bed was uncomfortable, and our shower door didn't close, so then entire bathroom got wet anytime we showered. The amenities were a little lack-luster, and the food was super mediocre. The buffet dinners were not good, but the reservable restaurants were much better. The staff was so lovely, and super helpful. Overall, my husband and I had a great time here on our honeymoon, but I would explore other options before booking here again.

I only visited for dinner, so I didn’t get to see the rooms, but the overall experience was next level. The food and cocktails were amazing. We started at the first bar, which had a fantastic setting by the pool with music. After dinner, we went to another bar with a live band. The night continued with an African dance show, followed by a DJ set. All of this happened in just one evening! I can only imagine how great it would be to spend a few nights here. I’ll definitely be back, and hopefully, I’ll stay next time.

Went for a honeymoon stay, beautiful, picturesque location. The vibe there was outstanding, the staff is so cheerful and have such a helping nature. It was a happy place with unforgettable vibes. It's a beach resort so there is a beach on one side, huge swimming pool on the other side where you can lounge, the place has great bars and restaurants. The location is pristine, even a great place to stargaze. The only thing that can be improved upon is Indian vegetarian food, there were very few options, and whatever was available didn't have authentic taste. Italian food was great though!!

Me and my partner had an excellent all inclusive two week stay. We got the couple partial sea view room which was a good size, had a nice view, good outdoor balcony space and was clean. The amenities were great. There are two pools, each with their own bar. There are three restaurants offering either buffet or A La Carte. All food was great quality with a large range of creative vegan and non-vegan options. Cocktails were delicious as were the local spirits and wines. There is a gym with a good mixture of cardio machines and weights. It’s also well worth a trip to the spa where we had really good massages. The game room was also a nice touch and there are activities put on throughout the day at either the pool, beach or bar. Service was first class. All staff members were lovely and seemed like they genuinely enjoyed their job. Special shout out to Vicky who always took time out to speak to us and made sure that we were having a good time. We would fully recommend this hotel, especially to vegan travellers.

Fantastic experience staying at Long Beach. The reliability of their services stood out: everything worked as expected. The staff was attentive, the amenities were great, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. Many food options. I especially liked the buffet breakfast. The beach itself is super nice. It can get a bit windy in winter, so water sports can be hard to time. (Not the hotel's fault though.) Highly recommend for a hassle-free stay!

The location is serene but the thing that really makes this hotel stand out is the service. Fantastic Customer Service, Great Amenities, but Service Can Be Slow I recently stayed at Longbeach Mauritius, and overall, I had a great experience. The standout feature of this hotel is undoubtedly the customer service. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure my stay was comfortable. I felt valued as a guest, and I appreciated that they treated everyone with equal respect, with no signs of discrimination. The water activities and the spa were definite highlights of my stay. The range of water activities was impressive and well-organized, providing a fun and relaxing way to enjoy the surroundings. The spa was equally fantastic, offering a peaceful atmosphere and excellent treatments—perfect for unwinding after a long day. However, I did notice that the service, particularly in the restaurant and bar service, could be a bit slow at times. While this wasn't a huge issue for me, it’s something to keep in mind if you're on a tight schedule. Another area for improvement would be the availability of power outlets in the room. There were very few plugs, making it inconvenient to charge devices, especially in today's tech-driven world. Despite these minor inconveniences, I believe the hotel offers good value for money. The facilities were well-maintained, and the atmosphere was relaxing. If you're looking for a place with excellent hospitality and great amenities, I would definitely recommend staying here.

My family and I were on vacay in our home country and as usual we always spend a couple of nights in a hotel. Long Beach was high on our list. Finally found a deal and we booked 2 nights. I will start with the positive points; their rooms were very comfortable and clean. I had one of the best sleep, I even spent the whole day in bed. Their kids club is one of the best as well. We even had the option of getting a babysitter for my toddler which allowed me to truly rest, for a fee. Thank you! The lunch option too was great, and the entertainment with live music too was nice, except not having all drinks being part of the all inclusive deals. Only pop and beer, no juice which is not great for kids. But Truly your staff feels overwhelmed with work. From the check in point, it seems you guys are understaffed, waiting to be serve from breakfast to supper, us having to go to one of your staff to ask to be served through our stay is not acceptable. Your buffet options too feels truly underwhelming. I was not expecting the quality of your food to be that level for a 4.5 stars hotel After our stay at Long Beach we went to a hotel with under 4 stars and our experience was far better than at Long Beach.

Stunning hotel! Great stay and welcoming staff. My friend and I had a massage at the hotel spa and it was divine! Would definitely recommend Komal and Divya. My husband had one with a man who did wonders too. Would definitely go back when we go to Mauritius.

Is it worth it? Yes it is! First of all, we had a booking issue. Wegen we have been in our room, an employee campe to us and upgraded our room to an ocean View terrace. The best is definitly the happiness and the Support of all the employees in the whole Hotel. It is very clean, very calm with in my opinion the best Beach of the Island. The only thing that could be improved is the food. The food is not bad but not very good either. Average. There is definitely room for improvement in terms of taste. Nevertheless, it gets 5 stars.

One of the most stunning hotels. We had our sons 4th birthday there, staff were super helpful nothing was impossible. They made my sons birthday very special,and listened to all our requests. On my first visit to Mauritius, we booked this hotel based on the traveller ratings. As a regular traveller myself, I was bitterly disappointed. The hotel building is nice enough in itself, the rooms are well appointed, however, we had to change rooms twice because of no view firstly ( we had booked an ocean view and saw air con pipes) and noisy building works on the second. But wait for it...we had a third change as we had so many issues with service and food at the hotel. Regrettably, the Hotel isn't 5 star standard when it comes to food options or quality. There is only one main restaurant, buffet style and the other restaurant has the exact same menu day in day out all week. Its not rotated and is set at a few starter, main and desert options, but never different any given day. We had two weeks here and were quite underwhelmed. In fairness to the staff who did listen to our feedback, we were given the room upgrade, but that came at great inconvenience and after much disappointment with service on a whole. The bar and waiter staff seemed unprofessional and unaware of simple things. Location wise, this is located very far away from amenities and other, more well serviced areas. Everything was at least an hours drive away for sightseeing etc. This is not at all like the more built up areas of Mauritius, it is in a rural setting and extremely quiet. The hotel itself is almost silent after about 10pm. There is no music or entertainment after this time. A lovely pianist is in the reception every evening and there is a show once a week for about 45 mins to an hour. There isn't even gentle lobby music. Bearing all this in mind, a few staff members tried to make us more comfortable by offering to make us our dinner on request. Apart from that, and our lovely housekeeper Ramoo, we had little to say of the establishment. Matters got so frustrating at times, we ventured down the road to a rival hotel and had dinner there. It was a pleasure. Having paid Half Board though, we couldn't do this more often. Drinks are expensive and water isn't free, apart from in the rooms, where bottles are refilled and dated,or at a water fountain. There are no drinks included with the evening meals, but breakfast has various juices and tea, coffee, water on tap. Please do your research before opting for The Residence. It may be fine for some, but we had a very testing time.

Lovely hotel on the seafront with beautiful beach. All staff are very friendly yet yet professional, welcoming and nice. The choice for the food served at dinner might look a little limited, but the reason is that everything is made to order, with a great cook and impeccable quality. The breakfast buffet is not gargantuan but very nicely filled to cater for all tastes and needs. The rooms and bathrooms are large and comfortable . Excellent value for money at the time when I staying here for 6 nights. I will definitely come back and recommend to friends

I visited LUX Belle Mare on October 23, 2015, during our honeymoon, and it was an unforgettable experience. The resort is situated on a beautiful stretch of beach with pristine white sand and crystal-clear waters. Our room was spacious, elegantly designed, and provided a stunning view of the ocean. The staff were exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make our stay special. They even surprised us with honeymoon amenities that added a personal touch to our visit. The dining options were diverse and delicious, offering a range of cuisines to suit all tastes. We took advantage of some of the activities offered at the resort, including snorkeling and a couples' spa treatment, which were both fantastic. The overall atmosphere was romantic and serene, making it the perfect setting for a honeymoon. LUX Belle Mare exceeded our expectations in every way, and we left with wonderful memories that we'll cherish forever. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and romantic getaway.

It had the intimacy of a Botique hotel, where it felt like the staff knew you personally and could anticipate your needs, but also spacious enough to allow for you to feel comfortable. Last but not least, there are many different activities on the large resort: For instance, even an astronomer who gave with his telescope some insights to the constellations and stars visible on the Southern hemisphere.
