Staff is very nice, always helpful and friendly. Location of hotel is perfect on wonderful beach. Food taste ok but some days we were hungry because surving plates were empty and some days breakfast was really late what was disappointment.
Also there are street dogs not only by hotel but all over the island but if you don't do anything to them they will not do anything to you :)
Anyway island is very beautiful. So many places to visit. I recomend to come here :)

Nice place, lovely beach, great staff and the island is great. Downside is that during meals you will have to put up with stray dogs wandering around the tables at night wanting food and at breakfast and lunch birds come in and eat food from the buffet area, taking from serving spoons, the bread station and off left plates. The birds as you would expect crap on chairs etc. The staff and management will not do anything even if you complain as it seems to be culturally acceptable for this to happen. You have been warned!

My family and I were at Verandah Palmar Beach from 21 - 28 December 2024. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The venue is good. The place is smart. The service is great. I will definitely come back again and recommend this place to anyone going to Mauritius.
Our flight was delayed by more than 4 hours and the hotel allowed us to remain, beyond check out time, with full use of hotel infrastructure, meals, etc.
Our children did not want to leave.

I'm still trying to process the utter disappointment that was our dining experience at Veranda Palmar. My family and I visited this resort in February 2025, expecting a luxurious getaway with exceptional cuisine. What we got was a gastronomic nightmare.
The buffet spread was lackluster, with a limited selection of dishes that seemed to be recycled throughout our stay. The quality of the food was subpar, with overcooked fish, and a general lack of flavor. We tried speaking to management, however beside being really friendly and understanding, the standard did not change.
Whilst mentioning our list of disappointments, I must commend the staff for being friendly. Nelesh at the main bar has been the breath of fresh air to the resort as opposed to the disasters around us. He managed to bring some joy to our trip with exceptional service.
Needless to say, our dining experience at Veranda Palmar was a disaster.

We had an absolutely fantasic holiday at the Veranda Palmer Beach Hotel near Belle Mare! The staff were all incredibly helpful, friendly and made us feel very welcome.
The beach was amazing and the crystal clear sea was beautiful!
The air-conditioned rooms and comfortable beds were great, and we had an great sea view from our balcony! The moon reflecting on the sea during the evening was stunning.
I would like to thank all the staff for making our holiday so special, but I'd like to give special thanks to Boodhun for his initial welcome, help and advice. I'd like to thank Vikram for taking us on the glass bottom boat, snorkeling and for his sailing lessons on the Hobby Cat. Asha did a superb job of cleaning our rooms and creating some lovely animal sculptures from our towels. Suren from the beach bar was always so friendly and kept us wonderfully hydrated.
The weather was fabulous in January and we mostly had sun with temperatures of 31 degrees. A gentle sea breeze kept us comfortable whilst on the beach.
We will definitely return to this lovely place! Thank you!
