My wife and I enjoyed our stay here, the first stop while on our Mauritius honeymoon. Room was nice and spacious, staff was very friendly and attentive. Live music was cool and the Sega show one of the nights. Buffet was solid with great variety and themed nights. Quality of food I’d say 4/5, others on the island were a bit more fresh. Good selection of water activities that are included. Great spa and sauna. Their own stretch of beach which was beautiful, though very windy. Location-wise it’s not particularly close to other things within walking distance, though it’s a short drive from the largest outdoor market in Mauritius and a mid-sized mall. One note, I’m a little iffy on calling your nicest restaurant “The Plantation”. Especially given the island’s history, the choice of name feels a bit tone-deaf. I get they’re going for the colonial old-world vibes, and perhaps there’s local context I’m missing, but from a guest’s perspective it came across as a pretty questionable branding decision. Overall great experience.

Our stay at La Résidence Hotel was absolutely incredible – a truly 5-star experience from start to finish. The hotel boasts stunning white sand beaches fringed with swaying palm trees, creating the perfect idyllic backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff always on hand to ensure our comfort. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and impeccably maintained, offering all the amenities you'd expect from a luxury beach hotel. A huge highlight was the buffet, which offered an impressive and delicious selection of fresh foods. We enjoyed a fantastic array of dishes from Indian, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Far East cuisines, with an extensive choice of both meat and fish dishes. The desserts were amazing, featuring a delightful variety of pastries, cakes, and ice cream that pleased both kids and adults. The breakfast buffet was equally extensive, providing a perfect start to each day. The hotel also offers fantastic amenities for children, including a dedicated kids' club, and for everyone, inclusive tennis courts, snorkeling, and glass-bottom boat trips. For scuba diving enthusiasts, the on-site diving center is a real gem. They provide all the necessary equipment, and the instructors are incredibly friendly and professional, speaking both English and French, which is a great convenience. La Résidence Hotel truly exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to return to this little piece of paradise!

The staff welcomed us with genuine warmth, and their attention to detail made our honeymoon truly unforgettable. We follow a Jain diet, and the restaurant team went above and beyond to prepare customized meals that were both delicious and respectful of our preferences—a gesture that meant the world to us. Our beach-facing room was nothing short of majestic. Waking up to the serene ocean views and falling asleep to the sound of waves was pure bliss. The property itself is stunning, with beautifully maintained grounds, a lawn tennis court, and various sports activities that added a fun touch to our stay. They have nice sauna and steam room. We saw fish at shore only. Water was crystal clear and their beach was private for hotel guest only. It was neat and properly mantained. The ambience radiates luxury, yet feels intimate and relaxed. Every corner of the hotel—from the lobby to the poolside—reflects thoughtful design and impeccable service. It was hands down the best property we stayed at during our Mauritius trip. 💫 Verdict: Worth every penny. If you're looking for a luxurious escape with heartfelt hospitality, this is the place. This hotel is beautiful. Stunning pools, pristine beach and the food! Best hotel I have been to my entire life. Air-conditioned rooms. The staff are so polite and respectful, always greeting us at every turn. I'm definitely coming back!

Overall, the hotel is very good considering the price of the rooms. The rooms are spacious, have great views, and are in excellent condition. The hotel’s beach is also very nice — there are sunbeds available and the service is excellent. The butler service can feel a bit too intense at times, but that might just be my personal impression. Physically, the hotel isn’t the most beautiful and it does show signs of age, but it’s still in good condition overall. There are only two restaurants — the buffet and another one by the beach. In my opinion, it would be great to have a couple more dining options, like in other hotels I’ve stayed at on the island. Still, everything else was very good. Highly recommend the whale watching excursion to Tamarin that the hotel organizes — it was a fantastic experience!
