This is a great hotel. People are very nice. Are there better hotels? Yes definitely! are there better ones for the money? No! They have a great location and have mastered the value proposition. I came to cancun to do stuff, not sit in an all inclusive and get wasted. However, this hotel has free drinks all day until 9pm and their breakfast is OK. Plus, you can take the red bus from the airport and it drops off with in a block. Just enter the cancun center and walk through to the hotel. The roof top pool is nice, nothing super fancy but a great place to relax at the end of a busy day exploring. Only down side is it isn't on the beach, but that is reflective of its price. Beachs are a 5 min walk in both directions, so is the ferry to Isla mujeras

Good location. Nice staff. Enjoyed the open bar and the breakfast. However, there were many issues at this hotel. TONS of loud construction happening throughout the day. So bad that we had to be relocated. Even after, it was still loud. The pool is really gross. Chunks of dirt and mold everywhere, along with hundreds of bugs. Probably hasn’t been cleaned in weeks. We got trapped in the elevator and had to PRY the doors open. Not a fun experience! We also got harassed by some European couple who were threatening and screaming at us for zero reason. We had to leave the rooftop area because the staff didn’t do anything about it and we felt uncomfortable. It looks nothing like the photos online. Not horrible for the price. I’ve stayed at worse places. However, if you spend a little more $ you can get a way better place than Aloft Cancún - and I’m saying this as someone who typically stays in MB / Aloft hotels.

Second visit in four months - Mario security is a fantastic guest centered employee: engaging, friendly and helpful. Front desk Josue really does not belong in hospitality, rude and aloof. Bartenders are great and friendly just like in January. Overall a great experience. Mario should be in management - genuinely cares about guest service. Evan or Ivan porter friendly and efficient. Such a great vibe

Only 1 of 2 elevators were working. They were working on it though. My floor elevator up button didn't work as was the same on some other floors but not sure how many know of, other than 1 other. Great location. Supermarket just a block away, starbucks 2 blocks away, easy walk to other fun nightlife and restaurants. Beach access right across the road at Isla mujeres ferry. Don't pay attn to crosswalk signals, they are always blinking. Cross when you can and run!

If you read the reviews you will be prepared for what this hotel is and isn’t. If you can pay $100-$150 it’s a great place but I wouldn’t say it’s up to bonvoy hotel standards necessarily. Pros: -Great rooftop pool, it’s not big but does the trick -amazing rooftop view -awesome location -my room was quiet - the gym isn’t big but it’s there and has a few items - the bed was decent - my room was fairly clean - I had no issues with the elevators as others mentioned. - there’s a great super market next door. -AC worked great and was quiet - check in was easy although I arrived around 6:30pm Cons: - honestly just curb your expectations and you will be fine but the wifi didn’t work for me, the shower head was old but totally functional, the shower amenities were broken off the wall but full and on the bathroom sink, the lotion doesn’t smell nice but the rest of the products were decent, the sheets and towels are a bit rough but again they get the job done. - unsure if the fridge works, I guess I’ll see tomorrow as I got some cottage cheese from the supermarket. Overall absolutely worth it if you find a decent price just don’t expect the world.
