Avoid this hotel - it’s not worth the hassle.
They try to charge you extra for EVERYTHING and the staff is very rude.
It was also extremely noisy at night and hard to sleep on the rock-hard beds.

Marriott ALoft is in a great location. It's actually across the street from the beach, but has a beautiful rooftop pool, with an amazing view.
A lot of young 20s & 30s there at night which isn't my favorite thing, but people seem to be having a good time.
A great, included, free breakfast from 6 to 10 AM.
The "hang-out" lobby area is lovely & fun, with 24/7 music videos playing on a big screen, a bar, candy shop & tourist tickets & information.
Often booked because it is attached to the Cancun convention center, which has frequent trade shows & exhibits.
Supermarket next-door, along with lots of restaurants, bars, salons, gift, shops, and outdoor hookah smoke 💨 gatherings.

Wow, how is this property a Marriott or an Aloft?! The reviews on here that reveal the medicore/poor condition are exact correct. The five-star reviews are incorrect. The staff was nice but very awkward. I don’t need 4-5 people assisting/staring me at the check-in, they don’t accept Discover Card (not a big deal), the pool towels aren’t actually up at the rooftop pool (they are down by hotel lobby). Overall, the hotel is very used & abused - think of the landlord from college that slaps paint over everything. The desk didn’t have a chair (called reception and confirmed). I plugged my phone into an outlet and when I went to unplug it, the entire electrical box came off the wall. The shower head was dangling, and the pool area had the strangest furniture set up. Avoid this place at all costs.

The hotel staff were very nice. The room itself was lovely, clean, and felt very safe. It was a five minute walk from the main hotel zone area, which was a lot of fun but was a bit much for a solo traveler. Would come here again if ever in Cancun again.

I had a very good time at Aloft, i’m honestly surprised to see how many bad reviews there are. My friend and I, both 20 yrs old, were traveling alone. For two young ladies in a foreign country we felt very safe with aloft and were met with friendly greetings by staff. While yes, it’s not the most upscale and modern hotel, you have to consider that you’re getting what you paid for! Our room was only $630, which included the open bar and free breakfast! AND it was so close to everything, we saved a lot of money on taxis/uber because we could just walk instead. I’ve definitely stayed in nicer places, the decor was a little tacky and the elevators were down one night, but again, considering the price, It was expected. Nonetheless, we had no problems with cleanliness, the bed was comfortable, shower worked well, no problems with bugs. If you’re looking for a budget friendly place I would highly recommend here!!
