Overall Disappointing – Would Not Recommend nor return myself
Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with our stay at Barceló Santiago and cannot recommend the hotel due to several issues.
Food
We had only booked breakfast. At first glance, the buffet offers a wide selection, seemingly catering to different tastes. However, on the fifth day of our stay (February 20th), we started feeling unwell and developed severe diarrhea. Initially, we assumed we had eaten something bad outside the hotel. However, the next morning at breakfast, we heard from other guests that they had developed the same symptoms that day.
Unfortunately, one of us remained ill for the rest of our stay (another three days), meaning we had to cancel all our plans and spent most of the time on the sun deck. After a week of vacation, we felt worse than before and missed out on many of the places we had wanted to visit in Tenerife. Whether the issue came from the salad bar, the orange juice machine, or the coffee machine, we don’t know. But in the end, we paid for a flight, a rental car, and the hotel, only to spend a significant part of our trip feeling unwell.
Room
The rooms are below average. The design is minimalistic, but many areas show signs of wear and repairs. That wouldn’t have been a major issue, but the toilet flush did not work properly. The water kept running continuously, and at times, it took four to five flushes to clear the toilet (no exaggeration). Even after reporting it to the reception, nothing was fixed. There was also no toilet brush provided.
If you get a room facing the back, be prepared to hear the entertainment program from a neighboring hotel starting at around 8:15 PM. It is extremely loud, making it difficult to sleep or even leave the window open. And trust me, I’m not particularly sensitive to noise – but this was excessive.
Location
If you don’t plan to explore much, the location may not be an issue for you. However, in hindsight, we would have preferred a more central location in Tenerife rather than staying at one of the far ends of the island. That being said, the surrounding area is decent, with a few restaurants, supermarkets, and walking options.
Some Positives
The hotel’s parking was fully booked, but we always found a free spot nearby.
Contrary to some other reviews, the staff we interacted with were friendly and respectful.

A fabulous holiday at this beautiful hotel.
Amazing location, delicious food and made even more wonderful by the staff who all went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect during our stay. They were all friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble.
This was our first visit and we certainly hope to return.
Thank you for all the help you gave to us both during our stay.

Been here previously, stayed again last week. We keep coming back for the location we love and the stunning views - some of the best sunsets anywhere!
The staff and facilities here are excellent, always friendly. We stayed B&B this time and enjoyed fabulous breakfasts. Pools and pool bar area excellent, though some refurbishment is going on but seems well managed.
The only criticism we would have would be that the rooms (in the older part of the building, we were in 340) are getting a bit tired and are ready for refurbishment though perfectly clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay and will be back at some point in the future.

The hotel is situated on beach, pool area has great view of the ocean. Breakfast here wqs phenomenal, truly the best Ive ever had in a hotel. It was very clean and the staff is great. The only downside for me was evening entertainment blasting full volume of live music or some kind of entertainment until 23 o'clock and us being so tired after full day of exploring the island it was a bit frustrating. Also the TV is not smart and you can only watch satellite TV.

This is a decent hotel with two major caveats
1) The lunch/dinner buffet has a lot of choice, but much of the food is bland and uninspired. We were happy we had not gone for All-inclusive as nearby restaurants served tastier food.
On the flip side, breakfast was quite good.
2) You do not necessarily get a room that has an equivalent view to the one advertised. You can put a request for a room change. It then may take a day or two and you will get another option. However in our case, this wasnt a marked improvement and anyway too late.
Aside from these caveats, we had a good time. However as we grew tired of the food, we will consider other options next time.
