Stunning hotel in great location. Close to promenade, ocean, natural pools. The weather was much better than in the north part of the island and also it was less tourist. The views from restaurant, room and even stairs between the floors were breathtaking. The room was big and equipped in lots of cosmetics, toiletries etc. like in 5 star. We were a bit concerned before our stay because we read some reviews about cockroaches, but we haven’t seen any, everything was perfectly clean (except few hairs in bathroom). Staff and service was amazing and there were no problems to find free sunbeds or tables, it didn’t seem overcrowded. Evening performances were rather calm like live music, however we expected more party mood in adults only hotel.

Barcelo Santiago is my favourite Barcelo hotel and I’ve been to a lot. It cares about relaxation and wellness which is seen across the premises. With delicious food and drink, day and evening entertainment you can relax in the sun or you can join in the animation crews games. This hotel is very personable which as a solo traveler I appreciate. It’s my home from home twice a year and the staff are always fantastic, know your drinks when you return and always have a smile. It’s a beautiful hotel and I always feel like I’m on a cruise.

The Barcelo Santiago is a lovely hotel to stay in the location is stunning. The staff are really friendly and happy to help the food is in abundance lots to choose from the beds are comfy and the room has air-conditioning and free WiFi. Lifts to every floor, which is good for those lesser able you really don't have to venture far out of the hotel as the hotel has everything you need. The reason for my overall 4 star is. People smoking on balconies and the fumes drifting up to other balconies where other people who don't smoke are trying to enjoy being on holiday. This could be simply rectified when checking in. Are you a smoker? Yes. Then, put all the smokers on one side of the hotel. It would be nice to have a complimentary bottle of water in the fridge in the room, especially when you just arrive. I think this day and age, the majority is non-smokers, and this should be considered at the time of check-in I've been to hotels across the world and now if people want to smoke they must leave the hotel and smoke in a designated area.

Third stay here, and pleased to say quality and attention to guests has remained consistently high. Nice to see the addition/investment of larger parasols and lounge seating to create a larger "chill" area on the sun terrace. For those who prefer to just sit upright, rather than lay on a sunbed, this is ideal. Also these seats are well served for refreshments by bar staff. The entire hotel is very well kept, the pool, sun terraces, sunbeds and parasols, landscaping and other facilities. Any minor issues we've had were easily reported to reception or via the app, and usually responded to within a couple of hours and resolved first time. Staff are friendly and helpful, always very customer focussed. The only slight let downs, which aren't reflected in the rating since they are outside of the hotel to rectify, was that the transfer time can be a couple of hours if going on a bus/coach, or about 50 mins by taxi (costs about 70 EUR one way), due to the distance from the airport. The other was that the land facing rooms can be subject to loud noises from the nearby bars or street late into the night/early morning. This is new, as on previous visits the festivities usually ended around midnight. Although this was reported to reception, there is little they can do. Other guests we spoke to were offered a room change, but only to a room on the same side; a change to a sea facing room was offered at additional cost. Overall, as prices have remained reasonable value, we are very happy with our stay again and will definitely consider this hotel in future if costs remain so. Overall, highly recommended.

Our stay at Barceló Santiago was disappointing, especially compared to what we expected. The check-in process was painfully slow, with long waits and staff who didn’t seem in any hurry to help us get settled. After a long journey, this was incredibly frustrating. The worst part, however, was the food quality. We were hoping for a range of fresh and flavorful options, but the meals were bland, poorly prepared, and not at all what you’d expect from a hotel of this caliber. The dining experience felt more like a cafeteria than a resort, which was a huge letdown. While the staff were friendly, the room wasn’t entirely up to standard. It wasn’t dirty, but it certainly wasn’t as clean as we’d expect. The lack of attention to detail across service, cleanliness, and food left us underwhelmed. Overall, Barceló Santiago fell far short of expectations. We wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a smooth, enjoyable stay with quality dining and attention to detail.
