I’m not sure I would come back to this resort if someone paid me, the best part was checking out. We arrived shortly after our check in time and our room wasn’t ready. That’s pretty frustrating when your flight is very early in the morning and you’ve been traveling all day. Rueben and Elias the bellhops were probably the only friendly faces as far as staff goes. Literally nothing was mentioned upon checking in and there wasn’t much info in the room either. We quickly learned on our own that pretty much all reservations have to be made through GOING to guest services. The food was essentially not edible. Everything was either completely overcooked, under cooked, not labeled at all and had zero care for cross contamination. One of the people in our group has a food allergy and got really sick on the first night. The medium rare steak I ordered at the steakhouse was so wildly overcooked I had to make sure they didn’t accidentally serve me a leather shoe. We spoke to a manager the next day about it and he asked what restaurants we visited. We listed 3 of the 8 on property and he responded “those are bad” and never even addressed the food allergy. The only coffee at the whole resort that isn’t burnt with watery milk for creamer was the coffee and cigar lounge that didn’t open till 4pm. But don’t be confused, it’s a smoking lounge, you have to provide your own cigars which the staff rudely mentions when you try to buy one. We stayed on the adults only side for obvious reasons. Having no kids around was wonderful except most of the shops, restaurants and entertainment was on the other side. The spa had a really great outdoor roof pool that would have been relaxing had it not been directly across from the main pool that was so loud you probably could have heard it outside the resort. The resort is relatively big so there’s a tram that can take you from point a to point b which was nice if you wanted to waste time. An 8 minute walk was easily a 40 minute tram ride so I wouldn’t suggest that. Cherry on top, when we went to go book the escape room we were so excited for, we were turned away because of an electrical fire the day before. That entire area of the resort smelled so heavily of smoke and chemicals it was nauseating. While everything is pretty outdated, the grounds stayed relatively clean for our visit. My guess is you work really hard for your money so I strongly suggest not spending it here

We love the rooms, the view is a dream come true! So many options to choose from, restaurants had many choices.
We enjoyed the entertainment options and staff. One member stood out. Ezequiel Cherry he was full of energy happy focused and eager to assist and help his character stood out amongst the others.

This resort is very good. It has the best beach of all the ones nearby. Flat water and clear. The food is very yummy. Lots of fresh seafood in the buffet. Staff is kind and always trying to be helpful. Entertainment team tries their best to provide as much fun to the guests as possible. Jason and Ariana from Entertainment has been especially fun and kind to us.

Let me preface this by saying I’m not one to complain and I’m grateful we got to go. So if I’m complaining, then there was a true issue. The resort itself is beautiful. The beach and the pool, those are great. But the trouble comes when you’re in the rooms or dealing with service. The service can always be the redeemable quality but this one was not.
My wife and I went with a group of friends and one of our groups had the worst room (sheets and towels were badly stained) and they couldn’t be compensated nor switched to a different room.
In addition to that we didn’t get into our rooms until 3-4 hours after check-in because they had to “clean” them.
The food was below average and the lines for RESERVATIONS were outrageous during our stay. One reservation we had, we waited 1 hour past our reservation to be seated the then be told we can’t wear shorts and proceed to not be seated to eat. (Given having to change clothes wasn’t the issue, the issue was we sat in front of them for and hour before they finally told us right before we were being seated so we couldn’t eat there.
At another dinner reservation, they ran out of certain included sides and began delivering foods we didn’t ask for. Also for one of our vegan friends her meal consisted on one small piece of broccoli and a quarter of a quarter of a corn on the Cobb. (Yes, you read that correctly)
What I did love was that it was pretty affordable to upgrade and also gain access to the next door hotel (Barcelo Bavaro Palace). Side note: You can only gain access to the restaurants and amenities if you upgraded to premium from what we were told.
Would I visit this resort again, probably not.

I come here every now and then for business and I enjoy spending time by the pool reading my books or at the bar, the all inclusive formula is great so I don't have to worry about spend money. I like that there is always something to do so I don't get bored. Lots of activities across the resort.
Louis from the entertainment team was really helpful and nice.
Really recommend this place especially for families.
