Our family had a wonderful experience and great time here at Iberostar Waves Punta Cana. We had Thanksgiving break 2024 here. Beautiful resort with everything you need. Lots of amenities and very welcoming staff. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained.Lovely hotel on an amazing beach with clean soft sand, delicious food and a lot of opportunities for the enjoyment! Special thanks to Machine and his amazing energy and very friendly team. Highly recommend!

How this place has such strong reviews is absolutely beyond me. We stayed at this resort over the New Year to celebrate a friend’s anniversary and we had nothing but problem after problem. The staff’s attitude was awful, particularly the women. The women would ignore most of the women in our group, roll their eyes at us when we tried to order and slam drinks down on the counter. The facilities themselves are outdated and poorly maintained. There is peeling paint on the walls, cracked leather on the massage tables, etc. Food safety is non existent with everyone cross contaminating dishes at the buffet (including with common allergens like shell fish). The dishes were often dirty. They use a water purification system for the water, which is fine, so long as you maintain it. We weren’t confident about it given how poorly maintained the buffet was, and, as we feared, my partner ended up getting sick on the last day.
When we arrived our room wasn’t ready despite us being a day late due to travel problems. When it was finally ready, we were given two queen beds despite booking an ocean view king. They gave us a new room the following day on the Punta Cana side, which was slightly nicer, but only slightly. The opening times listed on the website don’t match the app, so you end up missing the cut off times for meals if you’re not careful. When checking out, it took them 20 minutes to tell us that that we had to check out of the Punta Cana side, causing us to incur extra fees with our transport, which was kept waiting. We also asked someone to help us with our bags and it took 30 min for someone to come help us and we had to ask 2x, even though we told them what time our transport was supposed to be arriving. One member of our party got stuck in one of the elevators. There was a roach in our room on the last day. Honestly, I could go on. I have quite literally never had such a negative experience on a trip ever. We will not be back and honestly, I wish we could get our money back. Save yourself the trouble and save your money.

We have stayed at this hotel various time and it's always a pleasant time. The food is amazing and so is the staff. One employee in particular is Susana Melo (the club) she is amazing, friendly and just knows how to treat us the guests. She is actually the reason why we became members. If you want to become a member of Iberostar I highly recommend speaking to Susana.

Great time there. Really appreciate the staff who are very accommodating. Beautiful grounds and layout. One down side for us was always being pressured to buy something, whether by the staff and vendor tables set up throughout the resort every day. Also got food poisoning at the end of our stay from an undercooked burger. Very sick for many days. Otherwise, a very nice vacation stay.

Beautiful resort and great views! Best entertainer is Tyson by far! Good shows every night and lots to do for the whole family! Wish they had a swim up bar.
