Bahia Principe Grand Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, is a truly fantastic destination for a holiday. The resort is beautifully maintained, with lush greenery featuring coconut and palm trees that create a serene and picturesque environment. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, providing a great place to unwind.
The pools are incredible, offering plenty of space to relax and have fun, while the beach is nothing short of spectacular – a perfect spot to enjoy the sun and waves. The all-inclusive package is excellent, with unlimited drinks and a variety of buffet options that cater to different tastes. The fine dining restaurants also deliver a great culinary experience.
Overall, our group and families had an amazing time here. Everything about the resort exceeded expectations, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable vacation!

Reading over the reviews.
The service was great, everyone was nice and always was there to serve/greet you. The coffee shop was great! Food was great. The setting was beautiful. The negatives were the rooms. I had a really bad experience the first night we addressed our problems and they fixed it and were so thankful. My wife and I had a wonderful time

Garden Grill is 10/10
The T-bone was juicy and flavourful cooked perfectly to perfected medium rare. The chef came out with the steak to assure satisfaction. All supporting staff are pleasant and happy to be working. Glass was never empty. Very Happy

The location of this resort is perfect, the beach is beautiful, the resort employees are hardworking and kind, and the entertainment and live music as well as animation staff are very fun and enjoyable.
HOWEVER, this is NOT a 5 star resort - it is unfortunately absolutely filthy and outdated. It is not for a lack of staff who are constantly working, but there seems to be a disconnect with regards to proper hygiene and cleanliness standards.
I have never stayed at a resort like this where every inch (indoors and outdoors) is so dirty, or something is broken, chipped, falling apart, moldy. We had to move rooms because the bathtub would not drain among other issuss, and the room itself was not clean from the previous guests. The main buffet restaurant, although some food items are tolerable, is another place where there is a huge lack of cleanliness. Staff do not clean and sanitize the tables. They simply take a napkin, wipe off crumbs onto the floor, and place cutlery on top of a dirty table and dirty place mats. The stations where employees are making food such as pasta, omelets, etc.. are very grimy and look like they are never cleaned.
I can overlook a lot of things, however the positive aspects of this hotel are not enough for me to ever come back to Bahia. There is just too many areas that need to be fully revamped and renovated, deep cleaned in order to completely enjoy your time here.
Furthermore, as beautiful as the beach is, good luck getting a towel, or a spot on the beach as people selfishly reserve their spots before 9am and there is no place to settle for the day. If you are lucky finding a spot, you are literally packed like sardines next to other people. This whole experience has been very disappointing and I regret booking this hotel.

Recently, I visited Bahia and had the worst experience with the lobby customer service. We had booked and paid for a premium room, but upon arrival, we were given a moldy-smelling room on the first floor. As soon as we noticed, we politely asked at the lobby to switch rooms. However, we were not offered any options and were treated extremely poorly. The staff was unbelievably rude and dismissive.
We were left waiting in the lobby for five hours after a long flight, without even being offered food or assistance, despite explaining that both of us have medical conditions that make staying on the first floor or in a moldy room impossible. One staff member, Gabriel, stood out for his unprofessional behavior, making rude remarks and even suggesting we sleep outside if we didn’t want the room.
The situation was only resolved after we contacted Chase Bank, through which we had booked the trip. Their travel department intervened, and after a call from Chase, the hotel miraculously found a suitable room on the third floor almost immediately. It’s infuriating that they ignored us for hours but resolved the issue instantly after the bank got involved.
Thanks to Chase and their associate, John, we were finally able to enjoy the vacation, but the terrible experience with the hotel’s customer service left a lasting negative impression.
