I didn't really have a problem with the place because some of the staff were very helpful and the beach and the pool are amazing. My only problem is that the housekeeping person that cleans your room stole $250 dollars of my purse the day before i left the hotel. I didn't notice it until i was on the airport heading back that i was actually buying something for my daughter i had my family member to please do a report and let them know, since my family was still over there because we were a group of 17. Today i was told that sorry that they can't do nothing about it since i already had check out mind you i notice 30 minutes after i left when i was at the airport so that means the person that stole my money still has a job and is still able to do that to other people.

First of all, I would like to say that most bad reviews are complete BS. The check-in is slow, and that's correct. You will spend at least an hour there, but the bar is right in the lobby , so you can have a drink. Now about rooms. If you pay more, you will get renovated room, which is amazing. Can't say anything about old rooms, just that the staff is very helpful. Maybe a little slow , but it is a huge resort, so be patient. You will be taken care of. The room is cleaned every day if you want to, and it's really clean after. We tipped the lady every day, and she was happy and made us happy. Food: I read some very bad reviews about food quality. If you want Gordon Ramsey , you pay Gordon Ramsey. There is food for everyone and it is very good. The buffets have a good variety, and they are decent. You have hot stations as well. I had a different breakfast and lunch every day. Garden Grill is the best restaurant of 5 we went to. But Italian, Japanese, Oriental and Mexican were excellent as well. We heard from other people Indian is amazing too, but we had 5 dinners only. 3 free, and we arranged 2 invites. The whole resort is super clean and you will see the hard working staff all day at 40 degree weather. Beach is beautiful with palm trees and white sand. The see is so warm , you can stay in all day. The pool I didn't like because it was too warm for my taste. You need to cool off in that hot weather. Bars around the pool will help you with that with decent variety. And, they don't use tap water for ice and drinks! If you get sick, it is from a virus that you get from people. Food poisoning get hundreds of people, not just you,so don't blame it on the resort. And one more thing that I hear a lot about: no, there is no a lot of mosquitoes. Keep your balcony door closed, and you will enjoy your cool room. A/C only works with door closed, and it's too hot to have the door open anyway. Bring money to tip hard working staff that really want to make your stay awesome. Don't be so picky and you will have a great time and rest

Our room breaker was tripping all the time and our AC wouldn't work. Sometimes it would take a long time to get someone there to check it. They offered another room on the last day. Of course we refused it.
The waiters/waitresses at the buffet restaurants won't do anything for you unless you beg them for attention and tip them at the end. We have a baby and had to wait minutes for a highchair and sometimes we had to get it ourselves.
The location is good and the complex is huge. There's several pools and restaurants to eat and drink. There's plenty of golf carts to get you to the beach, which may be far from you room, depending on your location. The a la carte restaurants are decent overall.
This hotel is a 3 star, maybe 4. Definitely not a 5.

I'm writing this review to prevent others from experiencing what we did at this resort, which does not meet the standards of a true luxury destination. Despite claims of being a five-star, family-friendly resort, our experience was far from satisfactory.
We chose this resort, paying a premium for what was advertised as a clean and luxurious environment, particularly important for our family since we have a baby. Upon arrival, we were met with 32-degree heat and no air conditioning in the reception area. I had to enter a closed restaurant just to keep my baby cool, but staff insisted I wait in the lobby without air conditioning, despite my explanations. After multiple discussions, they eventually allowed us to stay in the restaurant lobby.
Furthermore, at dinner time, we were not permitted entry into the restaurant until 6:30, forcing us to wait in uncomfortable conditions.
Now, regarding the room: the condition was unacceptable. We found a used item on the bed, along with dust and hair underneath. The cleanliness was akin to a two-star facility, despite the high price we paid.
When we reported that the air conditioning was not functioning, maintenance took over an hour to respond, which impacted our ability to enjoy the sunny weather. We subsequently requested a room change, but encountered similar issues in the new room.
Overall, this resort is not suitable for families with young children or anyone seeking a luxurious experience. The food quality was also lacking. We later upgraded to the Fantasia hotel, which was significantly better.
Additionally, many other guests and staff shared similar sentiments about the Grand Punta Cana Resort, suggesting it may not be in operation much longer. I strongly recommend considering other options for your vacation to ensure an enjoyable experience

This hotel has gone downhill. Staff were mostly rude and could care less if you were there. In fact, I felt like I was an inconvenience to them. The food was not good at all in the buffet area. We did have a decent dinner in the Japanese restaurant, though.
The drinks were not the greatest, and if you wanted a Bailey's or an American type of liquor, there was an additional charge for it.
One of the pools was cloudy one day, and we came to find out that someone had pooped in it the day before, so the cloudiness was from the cleaning of the pool???
We heard stories of guests being offered drugs on the resort grounds (by workers).
Our first room was not a renovated room, and the AC didn't work, nor did much else. It was the Jr. Superior room. If you are going here, ask for the Jr. Suite Premium room.
There were always shuttles to take you around the huge property, which was very convenient.
Overall, this hotel is maybe worth 2 stars, but that's being generous.
