A picture speaks a thousand words and I’ve got plenty unfortunately… Please look at my photos before you book. I’m honestly tired of this hotel’s copy-and-paste response to food poisoning and hygiene reviews… “The health and well-being of our guests are our top priority.” It’s boring and it’s clearly not true. I stayed here four weeks ago and was told the exact same thing when my boyfriend and I both got severe food poisoning. Their initial response was “nobody else has it.” Yet we could literally hear people vomiting in the rooms above us all night. I found another guest who had eaten the same food with severe food poisoning at the same time. We then reported this all together so they couldn’t say “nobody else has it.” They gave me a email to write a formal complaint. To be honest, I wouldn’t have left this review but reading recent reviews it’s obvious nothing has changed since our stay which is extremely disappointing and concerning for people’s safety. They have the same copy and paste response and need to start taking responsibility. They say they will take things on board, but clearly they don’t. The hotel did refund our board basis after the horrific experiences but that doesn’t undo how awful the entire experience was. We were scared to touch anything. The only positive was Janet who handled our refund quickly and professionally. She did also check up on our wellbeing for the rest of our stay. I’m glad she was there, she did a great job. Overall, I would not advise to stay here. Just look at the photos. It’s not personal however the health and safety and hygiene standards are not a “priority” they are infact abysmal.

This hotel is not five star despite the grand entrance. The food was the biggest disappointment. It was very hit or miss, with some good days when fish or chicken was available, but most days it was average at best. Plates were sometimes dirty, which raised concerns about hygiene. The dining experience was also uncomfortable at times, as staff gave awkward looks if you did not order drinks with your meal. Although the building is old, it has been renovated to look nicer. The rooms were actually very good – spacious, clean, and comfortable, with great views. The cleaning staff did a great job and the location is quiet and safe, just ten minutes from the city centre. Overall, this is not a five star hotel. It feels more like a decent four star with major issues in the food and dining area. For the price, it is okay, but there are better hotels with the same rating and cost that offer much better food and service. I would give it three and a half stars.

We stayed in Puerto de la Cruz for 10 days, from July 9 to July 19, and we really enjoyed our trip! The weather wasn’t great during the first two days, it was cloudy and cool but the rest of the days were warm and even hot. However, even on cloudy days you can easily get a tan or even a sunburn, so be careful with the sun. The hotel is located in a very beautiful area, and if you’re lucky to get a room on the 10th floor or higher, the view from the window is absolutely stunning! The hotel grounds are spacious and lovely, even though the building itself is quite old. One thing that surprised us was that for such a large property with so many guests, there were very few pool tables and ping-pong tables available:( Also, the lobby area where the evening shows took place was too small for the number of people. Many guests had to stand near the bar or by the entrance just to watch the performance. On our last evening, the concert was moved outside by the pool, and it was the best idea ever — we just wish it had been organized this way from the start. The path down to the city is very convenient and quick, but it’s not secured from outsiders, and we saw local teenagers sneak into the hotel grounds a few times while playing around. It would be great if the hotel could install card-access gates for added security. Speaking of key cards, ours got demagnetized 3 or 4 times, and we had to go to the reception to fix it. That was probably the most inconvenient part of our stay. It’s likely due to the old door locks that require inserting the card instead of tapping it. Still, these were just minor inconveniences and didn’t spoil our overall impression of the trip. The nature in this area is breathtaking, and we often visited the local beaches and the natural ocean pools, which are just a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

the hotel is wonderful, the view is excellent, there is no private beach but you can walk to the nearest beach which is visible from the balcony in 15 minutes. the food is varied, the staff is responsive and will always help. there is tennis, billiards, spa, swimming pools, entertainment programs in the evenings. special respect to the animation team, especially Marco, he is just a star, an energizer who made our vacation even brighter. all the staff are just wonderful, we did not spare tips. we also used car sharing and took an excursion. everything is just wonderful and this is a real all inclusive. it is a pity of course that at the very beginning we were placed in a room on the 1st floor where the ocean is not visible, but we were able to quickly change the floor to the 7th. special thanks for that!

This place is advertised as a 5 ⭐ hotel, and on the whole I would wholeheartedly agree! If it was based on the staff alone, 5 ⭐ doesn't do it justice, the staff here are a credit to the hotel and I can't praise them highly enough. The rooms, the poolside, the restaurant and other areas have been utterly spotless. I will say the lack of Tea/Coffee making facilities in our room were a little disappointing, but not enough to spoil our holiday. The choice of food available has been varied and interesting, ranging from incredible to mediocre, but always acceptable. Location wise this place is excellent, a 10 minute walk to town if you can access the underpass under the hotel. Would we come here again, definitely, but we're keen to experience other places, but this has been an excellent holiday 8.5/10
