Absolutely splendid hotel with an incredible ambience and very cheerful and delightful staff. You really feel like the staff cares about you. That you‘re not just another guest. Everyone, from the bartender to the receptionist, everyone‘s kind and welcoming. The breakfast was one of the best- if not the best- I‘ve ever seen over all of my hotel-stays around the globe.
The ambience is pretty stunning. The rooms are very spacious, the pool area is very clean yet still very comfy. The interior design has just the right taste to it. It‘s not incredibly modern, yet still very luxurious and comfy.

We stayed here for 8 nights in December. It was like the hotel gave us a warm embrace from the moment we arrived and did not let go for the entire duration of our visit. The staff are all uniformly friendly and excellent. The ambience is terrific. We loved the pool area which is beautiful and tranquil. The spa was fantastic as were our treatments. The terrace where the food is served is like being in your own private piece of paradise. We will certainly be returning.

Hotel staff is pleasant (same can be said of service experience throughout the Canaries) happily assisting and smiling. Breakfast food was varied and cooked seasonly. Swimming pool area can prove rather busy at times while the pools themselves are big and with different temperatures. Room 304 was located on the top floor with a nice view and private balcony. Furniture is quite dated and some refurbishment should be envisaged. Also, room and floor partitions can prove quite thin and sleeping isn't optimal. Wellness and gym areas are professionally managed. Overall, a rather nice experience even though the 5-star rating is not deserved or Spanish standards are lower than those of some other European countries.

This hotel is truely fantastic. The staff are fabulous and very helpful and the amenities are great. Everything you need for a quiet, relaxing break. The hotel is huge and lots of pools, which are heated and cooler. Loads of sun beds and a lovely spa.
Buffet is vast with food selection and outside area is done very well with fairy lights everywhere making it beautiful to sit outside. The hotel is decorated beautifully and done well.
Would definitely recommend and will be returning for more winter sun.

We are about to leave the hotel after a 7 day stay and the single reason i am writing this review is - not a single person of the reception staff during the whole stay asked how our trip is going or if there is anything they could do to improve it.
The positive things first - Everyone with the service staff was very genuinely friendly, kind and were doing their absolute best. The hotel is in very good condition the room doesn't need any renovations and was big with a nice terrace and jacuzzi. The spa staff and treatments were absolutely amazing too!
The breakfast buffet was a quality 5/5, was lacking a bit of variety though, we had the exact same breakfast buffet 6 days in a row. We also booked half board, so a different theme buffet every night was included. Depending on the night, the quality was between 4-5/5, but some nights were really nothing special and didn't represent the theme of the buffet night at all.
The half board topic is one of the first issues we had. When checking in, the receptionist told us we didn't book it - she checked again and confirmed it was included - no big issue there.
When we arrived for the first dinner - the restaurant manager once again told us the half board isn't included - he also had to check again with the reception to confirm it - also...not a big issue but...leaves a bit of a "right hand doesn't know what the left hand does" taste...
but tonight on our last dinner we were once again told that the half board isn't included, same procedure again...But this time the lady stood in front of our table while we were eating for the whole "calling the reception" procedure...Something that we really massively disliked...after 7 days of staying at a 5* hotel I expect the staff to know that is going on with which guest.
Second massive issue for me - the hotel has about 15 signs that clarify "Breath free - 100% non smoking hotel" - However guests are allowed to smoke on their balconies. Now this would not have been an issue very much if our lovely above neighbour would not have decided to smoke mariuhana for 2 days in a row...which left a smell in our room much longer than normal cigarette smell lasts...reception was notified - apologised - said guests were leaving the same day - i would just take of the smoke free signs...But like this it seems a bit hypocritical for me...
Third issue - The pool area cleanliness...The pool area is amazing and beautiful and has many things to offer, but very much depending on which staff were working that day, it was reaching from perfectly clean to close to simply dirty with old bottles and glasses between the sunbeds etc.
Pools themselves were always perfectly clean tho.
Lastly - portion sizes of the salads in the pool/lunch restaurant were very small for the prices that were charged - luckily for 2€ more you could add 3 very simple pieces of bread.
All in all, this is a good hotel and the things I named can bother you or they can't. But I think everything would have been a lot less annoying for us if anyone of the reception team would have shown interest in how our stay is going - they had about 6 chances to ask (Paying bills 2x, ordering taxis 2x, walking by 2x) and they just didn't which gave me the feeling to be welcome as a paying guest but not a guest they cared about.
Summing up - 3.144€ for half board plus about 500€ extra for drinks and salad lunches...for 7 days - that's a price I am happy to pay - but then I expect everything to be perfect - and if it's not, at least have the staff care that your stay is as good as possible.
Since they did not do this at the Vincci Selection La Plantacion, we will not come back here and rather stay somewhere else next time.
