Enjoy the beauty of Koh Samui with even more privacy at the 5-star Cape Fahn Hotel, situated on its very own private island. The 22 guest villas all feature a large pool and sun deck, with each one superbly decorated. You don’t even need to go far to find great food either, with a range of top-class cuisines available right on the island. Should the tide be out during your stay, you can even walk across to the main island of Koh Samui without the need of a boat. The crossing alone makes for some great pictures.

My brother and I stayed here for a night while island hopping. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay with some of the best hotel service I have encountered in a while. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and service-oriented. We felt very well taken care of.
The crossing to the hotel across the water is fun and different. Welcome in lobby was perfect. Room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. Beach and pool areas were very relaxing and staff were very attentive.
The dining was really nice, again with great service.
The only loss of stars come from location. The hotel sits across shallow water from a beach club which offers some noise pollution to an otherwise very quiet and relaxing beach. I also didn’t love guests from said beach club crossing the water and roaming around the hotel’s beach. I jokingly told my brother they should plant a barrier of urchins and fire coral to keep guests out, although I half meant it. It’s also a bit of a faff if you want to leave the hotel for anything. That being said, I’d be very happy to spend a couple of days stuck on this little island fully relaxing and not going anywhere.
Overall, a fantastically relaxing stay thanks to warm and attentive staff, beautiful and comfortable rooms, and a lovely beach

Amazing stay for our honeymoon. We had an deluxe pool villa which faced the ocean. Villa was stunning with lots of lovely touches. Daily fresh fruit and turndown treats, huge bathroom and beautiful infinity pool. Both restaurants had great service and food. Happy hour every night too. Beach was beautiful and when the tide was low you can easily walk over to the other side. Spa was great value and cheaper than you'd get in the UK. Definitely recommend!

During my recent stay at Cape Fahn Hotel Ko Samui, the experience was a confusing blend of attractive features and significant disappointments. On the plus side, the hotel offers spacious rooms with expansive views (depending on the room), a large pool ideal for relaxation, and a competitively priced spa that delivers quality service. The fine dining at Long Dtai—led by the chef from Bangkok’s renowned Nahm restaurant—was a genuine highlight.
Unfortunately, these positives were quickly overshadowed by service inconsistencies and operational issues. Even before arrival, problems arose. We had booked the Luxury Escapes package, which promised complimentary transfers to and from the airport. Since we were already staying at the Ritz Carlton on Koh Samui, I inquired whether the hotel could pick us up there instead. They replied that transfers were strictly from the airport and that we’d be charged, though they eventually waived the fee. This early confusion set a negative tone.
The boat transfer was similarly disappointing. The process was neither welcoming nor well organized. We were forced to remove our shoes and wade through sandy water, without being offered slippers, while navigating a dirty beach scattered with rubbish—a scene more reminiscent of an industrial site than a luxury property.
A brief tour of the small island followed, but it was extremely superficial. The guide couldn’t even explain the difference between lunch and dinner or mention that a truck service was available to shuttle guests to the main island several times a day. Additionally, there was little clarity on the inclusions of the Luxury Escapes package.
Our original room, an ocean view Pool Villa, proved to be a letdown as well. Instead of a sea view, we were confronted with a vista of rocks and piled rubbish (picture attached) After expressing our severe disappointment, we were moved to a different room that did offer a genuine sea view—but this room came with its own issues, including a persistent unpleasant odour from the drains and a malfunctioning toilet that stopped flushing on one occasion, suggesting drainage problems.
Dining was also fraught with difficulties. A botched pizza order (a standard menu item) set the stage for further disappointments: the Luxury Escapes package failed to include half of the advertised dinner and lunch items, with ingredients and selections often sold out or of poor quality. Even breakfast was subpar, as basic items like cutlery and napkins for our two-year-old were missing unless explicitly requested. Although a bottle of wine was offered the next day to make up for the pizza mishap, it did little to compensate for the overall experience.
Other issues compounded the dissatisfaction: an outdoor shower with very low water pressure and multiple instances when turndown service was not provided without a prompt call. Communication was consistently problematic—while I understand that not all staff are fluent in English, simple requests were repeatedly misunderstood or ignored.
Traveling with a two-year-old only heightened the challenges. The overall level of service fell far short of what one would expect from a high-end resort. For anyone accustomed to the standards of Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, or Six Senses, this experience is a stark warning. In particular, the Luxury Escapes package did not live up to its inclusive promises.
Throughout our stay, the persistent minor issues culminated in a deeply negative experience. We even saw the manager passing by on several occasions without ever stopping to ask about our concerns—even when checkout issues arose, including a botched bill that attempted to overcharge us for a complimentary massage we were entitled to (we enjoyed daily massages as part of our package).
In summary, while Cape Fahn Hotel Ko Samui has its appealing moments, the repeated service failures and lack of guest care make it difficult to recommend for those seeking the consistency and quality expected at a top-tier resort.

I have to thank the waiter, Seo. She was the best—very polite, and the food was really good. It was quite a romantic place. If you try it, you will love it forever. We had a special private room and also two other waiters from France.
We ordered risotto, pizza, and red wine from South Africa, Cabernet Merlot. It was delicious.

Big thank you to James, Nadear and the whole team for such a warm welcome to the island and their friendly service. Everyone made our stay feel so special and memorable for us. We hope to be back for a future anniversary!! Thank you 🤍🤍
