The location is perfect for a trip to Times Square and/or Broadway. The staff were incredibly friendly and willing to accommodate. When we first arrived our shower handle fell off. The show also leaked out of the bottom of the door and had smelled moldy. The TV did not work nor did the blackout curtain.
The location of this hotel is very nice, and the staff was very generous with holding our luggage while we explored the City even after check out. The parking was very accommodating as well.
Overall the rooms need a lot of renovation. The staff seem to be trying their best but I have absolutely had much better stays.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU NOT STAY HERE. Room was like a stay in the 1900s, trash under the dresser, tub brown, room smells like roach spray. The entire place needs to be renovated. My first time being disappointed by a hotel stay. Not to mention you have to pay to use a microwave?! Don’t stay here! If I could give 0 stars I would 1 is being generous! I slept with my clothes on because God knows the last time those sheets were changed. I was better off sleeping on the floor because the mattress was hard as concrete. I was extremely disgusted and unhappy! And for the price I paid I should’ve gotten a top notch room and service. I knew I was doomed when I hit the old hallway from the loud elevator. Thank God I was able to get my money back. The staff was extremely helpful at the desk but I WILL NEVER IN MY LIFE STAY HERE AGAIN.

I had a great stay at The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel! Yes, the hotel is a bit old, but that doesn’t interfere with the experience at all. Everything was spotless and cleaned daily, which made the stay very comfortable. The front desk staff was super kind and always helpful, and the breakfast was simple but tasty—plus, the people serving it were incredibly friendly.
The location is absolutely perfect! It’s right in Times Square and within walking distance of many tourist attractions. Plus, it’s super easy to get anywhere in the city with the subway just steps away.
Overall, I totally recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again. Loved my time here!

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. But since I can't, I give it... a 1.
This was the worst hotel experience I have ever witnessed in my entire life.
Where should I start...
Don't be fooled by the photos on their websites and secondary sites. All the nice looking rooms are their "renovated rooms", while the other (dirty) ones are the "standard rooms". The price and website does not reflect the difference between the 2. I assumed my $200/night room would be the "nice" room, but boy was I wrong! This was the most disgusting room I had ever seen. I was genuinely surprised the room did not have bed bugs (see photos). When we complained about the room/price, they moved us into a "renovated room" with fuss. The "renovated room" (look how it's always in quotations) was not finished. There was no hot water the last night of our stay, no working smoke detectors, no AC, no working thermostat, no working phone to the front desk, and a window that opens fully with no screen located on the 19th floor.
With that aside, during our stay, we were not made aware of the fact that construction was happening on the floor above us from 6am-6pm Mon-Sat. We don't mind construction, but would've LOVED a warning! On the same topic of noise, the neighboring room had a screaming match one night, and since our room phone didn't work, I called the front desk on my personal phone 5 times with no answer. That is absurd.
Also, don't be fooled by the "complimentary breakfast" that is offered. The "breakfast" only consists of plain black coffee with cream/sugar and a croissant/muffin. That's it. Definitely not the typical breakfast you expect from a hotel.
When these complaints were brought up to staff, we were laughed at and made fun of until we threatened to switch hotels.
Your stay here will be nothing but unpleasant. Think twice about staying here.

If you are looking for location, this is your place. It is an amazing location. We were able to get everywhere smoothly, there were always cabs outside. I think this is why people stay here.
The service was also good. We really enjoyed the doorman and had good interactions with front office staff.
However, the hotel is pretty much a dump. Do not be fooled by the pictures. The majority of the rooms look NOTHING like that. My room was run down, had broken lamps, a non-working phone and a shower that wouldn't drain. Overall, it was pretty dirty.
The floor of the shower was like walking on a water bed that felt as if old water was not draining and settling underneath. One side of my bed was broken and sagged. The room was pretty much a nightmare. It is the perfect example of a midtown hotel that doesn't feel the need to stay updated because its location is amazing. People will stay there regardless.
Again, if you are looking for the perfect location, you should stay here. But I will never stay there again.
