Decent hotel except for sound-proofing which is critically lacking. This is on one of the busiest streets in KL but the windows are only single pane so you hear literally everything. I had to turn the aircon fan on its highest speed to have any chance of sleeping and even then it was a struggle. It’s unfortunate because the rest of the hotel is nice: good breakfast, rooms are comfortable, staff is friendly, and great location. If you can’t sleep properly none of that really matters though.

There was someone trying to enter our room at midnight, around 1am. Management explained that the maintenance staff entered the wrong room. However, we believe this is still not acceptable. What if we didn’t put on the safety lock? We can’t imagine how terrifying it would have been. We had to quickly put on our clothes and open the door, but by then the person was already gone. We do not know what his true intentions were. And if the reason given is "wrongly entered the room" while doing his night shift, I would really need the Maintenance Manager to explain what is the protocol, and how they can make sure other customers will not experience the same situation. I do not wish to make this issue go viral or file a police report, but I do expect a proper explanation and action.

Our stay was incredibly disappointing. Breakfast was a letdown with cold food, a very limited selection, and a dining area that was dimly lit and clearly overdue for a Our stay was incredibly disappointing. Breakfast was a tired and neglected. Lifts were frequently out of order, and the door Scanners were unreliable, making it frustrating to access rooms The gym is outdated and barely functional, and the swimming pool is in poor condition with tiles lifting throughout a serious safety concern. This hotel is in desperate need of renovation. It's nowhere near the standard you'd expect from a 5-star rating.

I’d like to express my disappointment with how my recent booking was handled. I initially understood the package included breakfast and a f&b voucher, but during payment, I was informed that hi tea was also included. And it was booked in advance. Based on this, I proceeded with the booking. I requested early check-in but received no response. I only managed to reach the operator around 11 pm to ask whether the hi tea would be on the check-in or checkout day. Then, on the very morning of my check-in, I was told there had been a misunderstanding and that I was not entitled to the hi tea after all. The worst part is, this message was delivered by the manager herself (Ms Thangeswari) In the email wrote that she was an assistant manager. But when I called, she claimed she didn’t report to anyone. And upon check-in, the front desk said she’s now the manager. That inconsistency was confusing and unprofessional and instead of offering any gesture of goodwill, she only suggested free cancellation as an apology. This was especially frustrating as I was already on my way to the hotel. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. This experience certainly doesn’t reflect the standards one would expect from a 5-star hotel. Oh yes, the housekeeping and hygiene also extremely disgusting upon checkout -i just found out.

Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur City Centre is modern yet welcomes you warmly. Some rooms are quite spacious, and it puts you close to the major attractions. A few different aspects of my stay impressed me, but the professionalism of the security guard was surely a big one. They were up and about to guide all guests to the smoking area with such ease, comfort, and in conformity with hotel policies. This nice touch added to the already pleasant stay. And such good service with lovely facilities and an exceptionally tranquil atmosphere cannot be ignored... it's worth the visit!
