Unfortunately, our stay at the Maya Kuala Lumpur City Center from December 30, 2024, to January 4, 2025 (Booking ID: 330630426, Premier Room type) left a very negative impression. The most disappointing aspect was the attitude of the staff and their complete lack of involvement in solving guests’ problems.
Cons:
1. Staff Attitude:
My wife has a fear of heights, and the open corridor route from the elevator to the room became a significant challenge for her. We asked the front desk for an alternative, but we were told that no rooms were available, and the issue was dismissed outright.
I suggested the possibility of paying extra or checking all available rooms for the duration of our stay, but this request was ignored. Such indifference towards guests is deeply upsetting and does not align with the service level expected from a 5-star hotel.
Moreover, I sent an email on December 31, but I never received a response. Ultimately, neither the reception staff nor the email support was able to assist us.
2. Room Condition:
• The room was dirty, and the furniture required repair. For example, the back panel of the TV cabinet was detached and lying on the floor, exposing accumulated dirt and dust.
• Dirt was visible in the joints between the furniture and the walls.
• The air conditioner could not be fully turned off — it kept running even when switched off.
• The window view overlooked a cemetery, which was not disclosed in advance.
• Soundproofing was non-existent: all night, we could hear the noise of passing cars as if the window was open.
• The room was located next to a staff utility room, and every morning, the noise from their cleaning preparations was unbearable.
3. Other Issues:
A particularly unpleasant moment occurred on January 1, when a cleaning staff member called us to ask if they could clean the room right after New Year’s Eve.
Pros:
• The room was spacious.
• The breakfast was acceptable.
• The hotel’s location is convenient relative to major attractions.
The main issue with the hotel is the attitude of the staff: a lack of interest in solving guests’ problems, ignoring requests, and inaction in challenging situations. The service level does not match the claimed 5-star rating. I hope the hotel management will address these problems and take measures to improve the quality of service and living conditions.

This is by far the worst experience I had in a hotel.
First thing striking is that they don't have a proper lobby. When you get there by car you will notice some bar. Takes a while to figure out that you need to enter the bar and take an elevator to get to the lobby. This also means nobody will help you with your luggage.
Second thing that will strike you is waiting time for the elevators. Yeah we found out later they don't work. Only some are functional and waiting time is high.
We checked in and our room was awful. See the videos and the picture. Stains everywhere, chopped walls, broken drawers. Absolutely bad, as if we were in a motel. Obviously we complained and got a better room.
Then we realised that water was not hot. Bearable for a shower, yet cold. 2nd day was better.
Cleaning was ok, but we did not had coffee and tea in the room.
Products in the toilet were cheap and of poor quality.
When I checked out I told the lady at reception: this was an awful stay. The answer: "Thank you sir". Says a lot about the training these people get.
If you feel like paying a 5 star price and get motel quality, book it. Otherwise, choose another place to stay - plenty at much better rates.

I had an unpleasant experience during my stay at Maya Hotel Kuala Lumpur. A staff member entered my room without permission to place a stand fan as the air conditioning system was not working. While I appreciate the hotel’s effort to address the issue, the policy of entering a guest’s room without consent is unacceptable. This raises serious concerns about safety and security, which I find deeply troubling. Despite this incident, the hotel offers great food, convenient parking, and comfortable rooms.

Extremely Disappointing Experience
My stay at Hotel Maya was far below expectations. The rooms were filthy and poorly maintained, with visible stains on the toilet seat, sink, and bathtub. The fridge smelled terrible and was stained, the windows were grimy, and the floor was so dirty that walking barefoot was impossible.
Adding to the discomfort, there were long waits for the lifts, which were overcrowded, poorly ventilated, and had no air conditioning. The room itself was infested with small pests, making the stay even more unbearable.
Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

DO NOT Drive Here!
The room itself was fine, the check-in staff were decent, and the buffet and staff there were actually quite good, but whatever you do, DO NOT drive to this hotel. Especially if you have a long or wide car. Take a cab, use a ride-share service—anything but your own car. The parking situation is beyond atrocious. I had to circle the multi-level parking lot 4-5 times due to a total lack of signage. The security staff even directed me to the wrong area, forcing me to exit and re-enter the lot multiple times.
Entire sections were reserved without clear signs indicating this, and the driveways are so tight that maneuvering is a nightmare. To make matters worse, the floor arrows that should lead you to an exit, or more parking spaces, send you into dead ends—they haven’t been updated in who knows how long. In fact, after retracing my steps, I noticed that one floor of the parking lot did have updated arrows, but the others did not, indicating that management is aware of the issue but hasn’t committed to resolving it entirely.
To top it off, there are these bizarre parking ramps with no instructions, no operators nearby, and they can’t be manually moved. I ended up scratching my car in their narrow, confusing mess of a parking structure against the ramp while trying to maneuver into a parking spot. I have no idea who designed this parking lot, but they deserve to have their qualifications revoked.
What’s even more frustrating is that the parking isn’t even connected to the hotel. If you need to access your car or grab something from it, you have to exit the hotel, walk to a separate building (where you WILL get wet if it's raining), and take an elevator to the basement. Out of four elevators, only two were running—again, showing the lack of maintenance and proper management of this parking lot. When I tried to complain to the parking management team, I was met with attitude. Zero accountability. I was asked to fill out a form with no assurance that it would be escalated and no meeting with the manager in person. Instead, he called me on the phone and wanted me to meet with the security guard who had directed me to the wrong location, rather than dealing with the issue internally. I obviously rejected this silly non-solution.
I wanted to like this place, and if it weren’t for the awful parking experience, I would have rated them higher. But since neither the hotel nor the parking management seemed to care about resolving this, I can’t recommend driving here at all. It was honestly frustrating to book a hotel rated as 5-stars online, only to be met with 3-star treatment as soon as I arrived.
