I recently stayed at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur , expecting a five-star experience, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. While the hotel carries a prestigious name, the service and room quality were just mediocre. The room itself was quite small, and for the price paid, it didn’t feel worth it. It seemed like you’re mostly paying for the brand rather than the actual experience. The in-room amenities were basic—nothing particularly special or noteworthy. The breakfast buffet was also underwhelming. The selection was average at best, and the quality didn’t stand out compared to other hotels in the same category. It felt more like a standard offering rather than something you’d expect from a five-star establishment. Also, just a heads-up—they require a RM 300 deposit upon check-in, even though the room was already fully paid. This wasn’t mentioned upfront, so it’s something to keep in mind. Overall, while the hotel wasn’t terrible, it certainly didn’t match the standard one would expect. If you’re looking for better value, service, and room quality, I’d recommend staying at One World Hotel instead.

We had the most incredible stay. Every single staff member is so professional, efficient, friendly and masterful at creating the best guest experience. The facilities couldn’t be more beautiful and the holiday decorations created a magical atmosphere. The entire hotel is spotless and full of beautiful and thoughtful amenities and touches. Breakfast and room service are the bed I’ve ever had at any hotel on four continents. My dry cleaning and shoeshine were also done perfectly and speedily. The option to request guest needs online was also incredibly helpful and fast

Starting with the room we got upgraded to horizon club executive room. Was decent size for me and my wife and we had no complaints about the room. Service was amazing very helpful and breakfast buffet is a must!! Location wise we were basically 10 minute walk from twin towers and 5-10 from maccas and 7-11 good location.

Great hotel and very friendly, warm and professional service. Spacious rooms and a well-organized and good breakfast buffet. One thing that bothered us, though, was that the room wasn’t cleaned with the best attention to the detail: The corners had lots of dust and dirt and the walls had stains. The management should really do a “deep-cleaning” of the rooms every couple of months!

Can't say enough positive things about this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone spoke great English. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have been to in the world. Which says a lot as I have traveled to 28 countries. The rooms were very comfortable and had all the standard amenities. The spa/onsen area was superb. Gym was huge and well maintained. If I could give 6 stars I would.
