Layana Resort & Spa has introduced their "Sunshine Guarantee", whereby the resort will make a gesture of goodwill for every full day of rain.

If it rains continuously between the hours of 10:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs, customers will be entitled to Resort Credit to the value of THB 1,000 per room, per day. Guests will be notified every day at 17:00 hrs, if the day has qualified for the resort credit refund.

The credit must be spent in the resort during your stay and may not be redeemed for cash. The "Sunshine Guarantee" promotion is available from May until September

An unforgettable experience from the very first moment. My fiancé and I stayed here for two nights and we couldn’t have been happier. The hotel is stunning, every corner smells amazing, and every detail is so well thought out. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in Thailand (you can really feel the quality). They even let us use bikes to explore the area, which was such a nice touch. But what really made our stay special was the staff — so kind and welcoming that we felt completely at home. Found this resort with a beautiful villa steps away from the beach. It was a beautiful resort, quietly tucked away from the town. The staff were absolutely amazing and attentive to every need. Franke was superb and provided wonderful recommendations. The front desk was polite and Layla was an amazing host. The spa was fantastic. We will definitely return to Thailand and to this resort in the future!

Sadly not 5* excellence in the low season. We booked through a travel agent so we were unaware of the extensive refurbishments taking place at the hotel. There was no way of sitting on our balcony or by the top pool due to the noise of drilling and smell of solvents. Our room was perfect - great size and kept beautifully clean. The cleaners did a fantastic job although they did tend to come at awkward times e.g. while we were at breakfast meaning we couldn’t use our room until 11am. Breakfast was pretty shambolic. Most days there was a menu to order from but the food would take 25min+ to come out of the kitchen. One day these menus weren’t out so we couldn’t order hot food with no explanation. There was one man who took orders for drinks but often forgot items or walked off after taking our order and we wouldn’t receive them until the end of our breakfast. Nice feature to order smoothies but would have appreciated a larger glass than the standard hotel shot glass size. The hot buffet items were often left out without being stirred meaning the sides of the dishes dried out and went hard. On one day, the heating element wasn’t turned on resulting in a plate of cold noodles. We noted that the same loaf of bread was left out for the duration of our visit, and fruit appeared to have been sliced hours before eating leaving it with dry edges. The pool and the sunset view are absolutely stunning. The pool staff, particularly Rhee, were kind and attentive. We noted that the pool beds were slightly worse for wear with tears in some of the cushions and there is an ant problem around the pool. Some of the tiles inside were also slightly green looking - felt like the whole pool could do with a good scrub. Lanta as a whole was so quiet - we enjoyed renting a scooter to explore the island and the beaches were stunning. Worth noting that a lot of restaurants are closed in the low season. From the hotel, it was a good 25min walk with no street lighting to a strip of open restaurants down the road. Maybe we’ve just been lucky with previous Thailand hotels during our honeymoon travelling, but this hotel fell short of our expectations.
