We took the room with the private pool, the room was clean big and beautiful but that’s it in this hotel.
For a 5 star hotel I expect much more, they don’t have a spa, gym the beach club is totally abandoned.
We came one week after hurricane hit Holbox, all the roads to the hotel were flooded.
I think the hotel should have let us know the situation before we came. Because of it we had to beg for taxi driver to take us, and also they required around 400- 450 MXN because it was hard and far (around 20 min drive) to get to the hotel.
When we complained about it to the stuff they were nice and tried to help but nothing really worked out.
Also it took us couple of minutes to open the door each time with the key.

In order to make the point quickly for those who don’t want to read the whole thing I’ll start with the bad.
Location, location, location. In this specific island, in which transportation is not something to take for granted or count on renting your own vehicle - it’s a deal breaker. The hotel is soooo distant from anything. In average to bad weather conditions, it means the only way to get out of the hotel is paying 300-400 pesos per way for taxi.
This is the biggest flaw of this hotel.
For a hotel that considers itself to be 5 stars I’d expect at least to have a small inventory of bikes or motor vehicles to give clients an affordable possibility to get to and from the hotel. AT LEAST offer a free trip to and from the ferry.
Do yourself a favor just sleep closer to the center.
Second bad thing is that the hotel is not completely honest. It says on the site it has a gym and spa, it has neither. Plus, due to its location, the condition of the dirt roads of the island is crucial for us clients. And in our stay, they were soooo flooded, even though it has been over a week since a hurricane hit the island. They had the time to let us know in advance this would be an issue, but we heard nothing. While other hotels canceled some of their customers due to the situation, they just let us come and have a surprise. This is not a high class service and not worth the price they charge you.
Another thing is that the hotel is surrounded by swamps and standing waters which means TONS of mosquitoes. Not kidding, you get out for 1 second you get a bite. Be prepared with repellent spray.
Note for the hotel - the bracelet keys are a great idea, but in my experience they are so thin the door sensor doesn’t recognise the key most of the times which is frustrating.
Overall - Don’t stay here. But if you still want a full review, here are the good things:
1. Hotel is in great condition. Rooms were clean and neat. Also the pool and restaurant area.
2. The staff is super helpful. Maria and Manuel were very patient helpful and nice with us and they deserve the credit.
3. It is quiet and gives you a good relaxation.

With so many mixed reviews out there, I wanted to provide an honest assessment to help set realistic expectations for this hotel.
Overall, the hotel and our room matched the pictures online. The room was clean, and we had no issues with the keys. The pool is pleasant and tranquil, though it could have been a bit cleaner. The service was polite, but it definitely didn’t meet the standard you’d expect from a 5-star hotel.
We stayed for two nights, from August 11th to 13th 2024, and I wouldn’t recommend staying any longer.
Our main reason for choosing this hotel was to see the bioluminescence without booking a guided tour, which worked out well. However, for anything beyond that, you’ll need to take a taxi to town, which costs 300 pesos each way, or walk at least 45 minutes to find a shop or restaurant. Since you only receive a small bottle of water per person each day, you’re heavily dependent on what the hotel offers. Unfortunately, the prices are steep—a large bottle of water costs about $7 USD at the hotel restaurant, so the overall additional costs add up quickly for very little in return. Additionally, many items on the lunch and dinner menus, as well as drinks, were unavailable. This wouldn’t have been a big issue if the food quality had been better. Sadly, the pizza looked and tasted like standard store-bought frozen pizza with some "fresh" toppings (costing around $15 USD), and some of the pasta dishes we tried were also below the quality you’d expect from a hotel with this many stars.
Breakfast is another area of concern. The hotel only offers three complimentary breakfast options, and anything beyond that costs extra.
On our second day, we didn’t receive our water bottles, and it took three requests at the reception before they were finally provided.
In summary, while the facility and room were nice, that’s about all this hotel has going for it. If you’re planning to stay on Holbox for more than two days, I’d recommend finding another place.

This is by far THE worst resort I’ve ever stayed at.
1- Dirty: the bedsheets and towels were dirty dirty dirty. And very old.
2- No internet: I didn’t come here for to scroll, but I do enjoy sending a text or two to my family, which was impossible on the “wifi”. At least the lady at the front desk had the honesty to admit that the internet was not going to work.
3- FAR!! In order to go to town or go to a gorgeous beach with a beach club, we have to take a taxi which is 400 pesos each way. Plan ahead to spend that amount daily as there is no beach club here.
4- The restaurant: the men working there were nice, but sadly incompetent; food was inedible with very limited options.
5- The service: I’ve rarely been greeted at the supposedly 5 stars - or any stars as a matter of fact- which such incompetence. I was almost impressed by the lack of care: I wish I could care so little about anything.
6- The hotel pool: the size and cleanliness… inappropriate.
Save yourself and just go to Punta Mosquito.

Great place, very helpful staff, easy to get there, beautiful beach.
Must use moskito repellent cream.
Is not an all inclusive, must bring cash, delicious breakfast.
