Mark Twain said: Heaven is a copy of Mauritius “ and he was totally right. The Maritim hotel in turtle bay, Balaclava is extraordinary. Couldn’t fault a thing. Beautiful, friendly staff, great food and enormous variety of wildlife to entertain us. Even the stray dogs are adorable. Please feed them when you visit.

There was some initial confusion over my booking (which was my fault!) but as soon as I bought this to the attention of the Management, they moved extremely quickly to resolve to all party’s satisfaction and I cannot thank them enough for such professional and friendly service.
My wife and I booked this resort to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary and were both delighted with it. The venue itself offered a wide range of facilities all of which we found to be excellent, the variety of restaurant options provided flexibility for our eating choices and again we found the food at all to be superbly presented and tasting. The staff here were, without exception, very friendly and could not do enough for us - constantly checking all was well but in a manner that was not obtrusive and ensuring everything was as required. I cannot recommend this resort highly enough and thank them all for a truly excellent and memorable stay.

The room is huge, the toilet/washroom/bath tub is connected to the bedroom area. Just a little bit of an unpleasant smell coming from the toilet area but understandable because it is a nearby beach room. not all staff is accommodating but most are. The view is fantastic. A very huge beach area and water is clear.

I recently had the opportunity to interact with your hotel, and I must say it was far from the five-star experience I expected. Let me share the details of my encounter:
On Thursday 25 July, I called to inquire about availability for a day use package I found on Marideal.mu. The receptionist told me that I should call back the next day after 9 a.m. Fair enough. The following day, around 9:30 a.m., I reached out again. My call was transferred to another employee who promised to check availability + price for non resident and asked me to call back in some 30 minutes. Instead , I suggested that she calls me back once she had the requested information and she agreed to my proposal. Unfortunately, no callback came. So I followed up in the afternoon and I was told that no one was available at reservation, and I should again call back on Monday morning (3rd time). Seriously?
While expressing my experience of failed expectations to this employee on the phone, she seemed uninterested. She abruptly told me to call back on Monday then hung up while I was still talking to her. You can't imagine how I felt at this very moment.
In summary, my experience with your 5 star hotel was marred by broken promises to call back, lack of communication, and a dismissive attitude. I expected better from a five-star hotel.
