Best experience I ever had at Mauritius, it was my first time traveling to Mauritius and this hotel made sure it was the most amazing experience ever!! I love the interior and outdoor architecture of this hotel, it’s truly a vibe and it’s the most aesthetic place for the best views. Truly the pictures do not do justice as it’s even more visually pleasing in real life. My check in was really smooth, I dealt with Anastasia who was so kind and so sweet and I had the best room view! From the restaurant I dealt with Dev who was so efficient and lovely to speak with, shoutout to Dev for ensuring I was comfortable. It really feels more than 5* as the chef comes to each table during dinner to have a chat about the food and your trip. Overall this was one the best trips I’ve been and the best hotel I’ve stayed at

I’ve been to every hotel in Mauritius and the Salt is a gem. It’s my favorite mainly thanks to the food and the very talented chef Gigi using local products and cooking dishes that bring me back to childhood. The vibe, the quality of the mattress are perfect to rest. The whole team always make me feel I’m back home every single time which is true luxury.

Unfortunately, this is not the review I thought I would be leaving when we checked in. The accommodations are beautiful, the beach is beyond anything I can describe. It is absolutely stunning. We stayed for 7 days with an all inclusive package. They're really isn't anywhere to eat in the vicinity. First, only about half of the dinner menu is included. It's about 8-10 choices, the rest of the menu you have to pay for. $1500 for the two of us for the week. We were not told this when we purchased our package directly from the concierge. Also, it's the same menu everyday. Nothing ever changes and unfortunately, even though the ingredients are fresh, the kitchen simply does not know how to use spices and seasonings. The food is absolutely awful. We skipped most of our meals because there simply was nothing on the menu we wanted to eat. Extremely, extremely disappointing. One day I was lying on the beach and one of the spa employees offered me and my wife a 60 minute massage and would kindly throw in a 15 minute salt treatment (only for this afternoon!) for Rs5200 each. I googled SALT spa and that same package costs Rs4100. S that really how you treat guests?! Everything is an upsell. There is a glass bottom boat ride that is free (please tip the driver) and snorkeling. Snorkeling is only at 11am and the glass bottom boat is only at 2pm. You have to beg for ice for your drinks, and they made my iced Americano with a French press even though they're is an espresso machine at the bar... Never understood that... Unfortunately, we definitely will not be returning.
