The thing that stands out the most about the resort is the service. The staff is so friendly, respectful and kind. We had breakfast at the Shores restaurant most days and our server Andrea was so lovely and attentive, she was such a pleasure that one of the biggest reason we came to eat at the restaurant most mornings and some lunches was because of Andrea. I have to also mention the animation crew, Jasmine and Luisa were absolutely amazing at making poolside activities so much fun, my kids really enjoyed the activities and how friendly Jasmine and Luisa were, they were very welcoming and made everyone feel so comfortable, the adults also had a good time participating in some of the activities. Every staff member we encountered at the resort was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was a happy one!

The staff was incredible every step of the way. I cannot say enough great things about the people who made our stay exceptional. I would definitely recommend doing start class. The resort was further than I would have liked from any excursions but the resort itself more than made up for it.
Food 8/10 buffet was better than most of the restaurants
Beach romantic dinner was the best meal we had there
Sushi can certainly be skipped
Bars had a good selection of liquors not much choice for beer (local Mexican beer or Coors lite)

Planet Hollywood Cancun was a great experience for our large group of 31 arriving from Canada. Check-in was quick without any long sales pitches, and we were warmly welcomed with a drink and applause from the staff. The rooms were spacious, clean, and had all the necessary amenities. We were fortunate to have an ocean view from the 5th floor of building 31, which I highly recommend.
The pools were large and well-maintained, with staff cleaning them each morning. The restaurants offered a wide variety of food and drinks, and the service was exceptional. If you dine at the Italian restaurant, be sure to ask for Willy, who provided the best service I’ve experienced globally, even remembering all of our names. My favorite restaurant was Braza for amazing meat and salad bar selections.
The beach was beautiful, with soft, powdery sand and stunning water that made you want to stay forever. We visited in mid-March, and the water temperature was lovely. The hotel managers cared about their staff, the location, and cleanliness. While you need to wake up early to reserve beach and pool chairs, this is common in resorts. The management is well aware of the chair situation and chairs have been ordered. This resort is a must-see, and we look forward to returning.

Check-in process involved waiting in two different lines each for almost an hour.
Beach was beautiful and rooms were quite nice.
Concierge phoned our room to ask how the check-in process was and, when I told them about the wait, they said 'we are sending something up to the room for the trouble you experienced' but nothing ever came. There were others in our group of 86 who were told the same but also never received anything.
Food was not very good at all and, although there was plenty of food, we went to bed hungry most nights.

The staff didnt seem happy to be there, although we did experience several very nice employees.
Reserving a pool side chair involved waking in the 4am hour in order to beat the crowd, so we didn't get to experience this.

My Experience at Planet Hollywood Cancun in January 2025:
* Restaurants: The buffet and Statehouse restaurant were excellent. The remaining restaurants ranged from 3 to 4 stars and no star for Italian restaurant.
* Staff: Service varied depending on the individual. Some staff members went above and beyond to fulfill requests, while others were less accommodating.
* Rooms: Cleanliness was maintained with daily service. However, some minor touch-ups would be beneficial. Room sizes were average.
* Butler Service: Our butler, Javi, provided exceptional service (5 stars). The quality of butler service varied depending on the assigned individual.
* Star Class: While the Star Class beach area and pool were often crowded, the primary benefit was the butler service. In my opinion, the Star Class upgrade was not worth the extra cost.
One significant issue: Despite requesting a quiet room during the reservation process, we were initially assigned to a room near the entertainment and show area. After two days, we were moved to a more suitable location."Unfortunately, they totally ignored the only request we had .
