Positives: * check in was smooth and the hotel lobby and main areas are beautiful, pools are well maintained with plenty of sunbeds * Rooms are spacious and modern and they all have a beach view which is great * Staff are lovely and greet you every time they see you throughout the hotel also plenty of staff * Service at breakfast buffet is the best of all the dining experiences, they acknowledge you as soon as walk in get you a table and a drink, the food quality and choice is fantastic, Deesant I think the manager was an absolute highlight of the trip, so friendly and welcoming he runs the breakfast service impeccably * They are quick to rectify any problems you voice, we had issues with the cleanliness of our room on a couple of days and the team did go above and beyond to fix it so we really appreciate that Disappointments: * service at buffet dinner was not good, you have to find your own table, had to ask for drinks a while after sitting with food, the food on offer was mediocre and often lukewarm, minimal hot veg options or hot carb options. Also then trying to pay for drinks took ages, Can’t even get a glass of water at the buffet without having to pay for a large glass bottle of it they should have the taps like you do at breakfast * There seems to be a plate clearing process meaning do it as quickly as possible, there was a few occasions I hadn’t even finished my meal and they were trying to take my plate or my drink * Fruit at the buffet was covered in flies on numerous occasions and my boyfriend spotted a bird sitting on the side of the scrambled egg also noticed a bird drinking someone’s orange juice * No buffet lunch seemed strange, there isn’t much choice for lunch, pool menu is minimal and you don’t really want to eat lunch in the same restaurants you are eating dinner in * No desserts included in half board at some of the restaurants was disappointing, you are literally only allowed 1 starter and 1 main each. In the kumin restaurant we couldn’t even get rice with the butter chicken dish it wasn’t considered included? Seemed rediculous. Meat and sauce on its own with no rice allowed only gave us a bowl of rice when we complained, they probably got it from the buffet * Room and back area of hotel smelt like sewage * Asian restaurant was nice food but service was so slow took 1.5 hours to get our main meal we just wanted to go to bed by that point * Our last night we decided to do the beach bbq at waves. We thought everyone would sit on the beach but there was no space so we were understandably dissapointed and had to sit inside, a waitress then came up to us and said aww are you angry and upset? It seemed really patronising. set up was so strange, They had raw meat on display with tongs, me and my boyfriend plus a few other guests took the raw meat on our plate to eat without realising it was raw, Very dangerous and unhygienic, should of been set up better and kept the raw meat refrigerated surely out of reach of guests? It was in open warm air. It seemed there was a very important table of guests at waves for the bbq as all the staff felt tense and on edge catering to this table, we didn’t get the laid back friendly nice service we usually get here. We had eaten here twice before and loved the experience the service and the food. There is also a little kitten that wanders around the restaurant that we had seen over the week, this night we witnessed a waiter loudly stamp his feet and chase it to purposely scare the kitten to try and get it away, was really upsetting to see, we understand some clients don’t like them and it’s not professional for them to be in the restaurant areas but they should have a better way of treating the stray animals in front of guests, cats and dogs are considered loving pets in the UK. Overall we expected much more from a 5 star hotel considering what we paid. I would not recommend this hotel to friends or family based on value for money and the dinner dining experiences.

Our stay at this beautiful resort in Mauritius was nothing short of perfect - a full 5/5 stars! We visited as a family to celebrate my parents’ 60th birthdays, and the entire experience exceeded every expectation. From the breathtaking sunsets and stunning ocean views to the incredible hospitality, everything was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make our celebration special, adding thoughtful touches that truly made it unforgettable. The facilities were world-class - an amazing gym, gorgeous pools, and outstanding restaurants with talented chefs and diverse, delicious menus. The kids club was phenomenal, keeping the little ones entertained and happy throughout our stay. A special mention must go to Riaz and Meenakshi from Jade Restaurant, who were simply outstanding. They were so accommodating with our big group and always so warm, friendly, and professional. Because of their wonderful service (and the incredible food!), we returned to Jade several times during our stay. The entertainment team, especially Jouana and Chris, were also amazing - always full of energy and smiles, hosting fun dance sessions that became a highlight of our trip. We also want to thank Satyam, Hevin, and Jaya, who were so attentive and made our stay extra special in countless ways. Everything about this resort - the people, the atmosphere, the views, and the experiences - was truly magical. We left with full hearts and so many wonderful memories. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting Mauritius.

We chose Le Méridien for a 10-day getaway to celebrate my parents’ 60th birthdays, and it was the perfect choice. The hotel is beautiful—very clean and modern. From the breathtaking sunsets and stunning ocean views to the incredible hospitality, everything was truly exceptional. The staff at Le Méridien were warm and friendly, and genuinely always wanted to help you, which made such a big difference to our stay. They went above and beyond to make our celebration special, adding thoughtful touches throughout, and also taking care of any requests we had around timing and dietary adjustments for my 1-year-old niece. The range of restaurants was top quality, and the settings—especially Waves at sunset—were just incredible. We were on the all-inclusive package and really appreciated the hotel (Waves & Kumin) being open to our personal requests, kindly preparing customised dishes to change up what we had been eating throughout the holiday. We also loved the Teppanyaki experience at Jade, led by Chef Nawang Lepcha—a real highlight of our stay. Thank you to Roshan (Poolside), Nives (Waves), Umesh (Kumin), Yashneel (Jade), Sayid (Boathouse), Jaysen (Reception), and managers Asha, Nicolas, and Deesant for making this a holiday to remember. I would certainly recommend Le Méridien to anyone visiting Mauritius.

This was one if my best holiday experiences. The hotel boasts 3 different restaurants besides the main dining area. Excellent food; very friendly, accommodating staff; lots to do at the hotel. Beaches are amazing and service on the beach is efficient. The concierge service is so helpful. Weather in September is perfect for Mauritius, balmy and comfortable. If you want to just get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life then I would highly recommend this location.

If you expect a 3 or 4* hotel instead of the official 5* you'll be satisfied. Rooms: Spacious, but old style. Needs renovation. Not always clean, mould in the shower. Drain stinks. The staff is one the one hand very friendly, but on the other hand a lot of them seem trying to avoid doing their work and are unqualified. Especially at breakfast/dinner unused tables are left dirty for a long time. Staff will tell you it's not possible to dine in the outside area, since there are no free tables, even if there are. If the staff think, you don't understand french, they might gossip about you - not always using nice words... Any drink at dinner - even water - isn't included in half-board (although they're at breakfast). Treatments at Spa are really good. The jacuzzi at the spa on the other hand requires at least a deep cleaning. Still the location directly at the (small) beach is nice, although not as nice as e.g. le morne.
