We chose this hotel for both wedding and honeymoon destination. The service is very good, every staff member is so friendly and welcoming, we were treated like royalty. The room we had, junior suite, was super clean, well equipped and furnished in good style. Hotel felt like heaven, facilities, spa, beach, restaurants, events and music. But, what really impressed us the most was definitely food!! Each day different kinds, so tasty and delicious. Amazing variety!! I went through some reviews and, seeing any bad comments about food (luckily, rare ones) left me in shock!! Be sure that those people saying that are the ones who just love to complain and can never be pleased. The same type of people who travel to a tropical island and complain about insects or even worse, birds. Why are you coming to such places at all!??? Please stay at home and be negative there. In 4 days we got in total 2 mosquito bites, which is beyond impressive considering the fact where we are. Hotel really made sure to put all the effort in handling insects. Also, the “refund chasers” complained about many other things that are so not true. Seeing the other, also 5* resort in Mauritius, definitely reconfirmed me that Le Meridien offers true quality. Will definitely come back soon!!

Amazing hotel, great amenities and great staff. The hotel has a lot of places for lounging around, different pool options and activities on offer. The room was spacious and beautiful. Can’t wait to return!

Poor service. Rude and ignorant staff. Not at all value for money.
The rooms are not comfortable or luxurious. The hotel claims to be child friendly but during my stay I came across multiple occasions where they clearly were not.
Overall, it was pretty average, not comparable to a luxurious 5-star resort.

Hello,
I am glad that we have feedback from you.
I have been a guest at many 5 star hotels around the world and have a basis for comparison.
First, I will start with the things that I liked.
The hotel is on the first line and offers a lot of convenience for being close to the water.
The rooms are huge and well furnished.
The room cleaning is at a good level and the staff is quite friendly.
The mini bar was regularly refilled.
Now what I did not like.
First of all, the food.
The breakfast has an extremely small selection of products for a five star hotel. The offer of fresh fruit is almost nonexistent. If there is any, they are of very poor quality. The watermelon is green and hard, the papaya too. The watermelon was sour and tasteless. I myself produce thousands of tons of watermelons and other fruits and I know their taste.
There was almost no lunch anywhere. The two restaurants at both ends of the resort offered almost nothing for lunch. The menu is very simple and if you decide to order something, you have to wait about an hour.
In general, everything happens very slowly in the hotel. You wait a very long time.
What was offered for dinner was very tasteless. The style of offering the dishes, which were aimed almost entirely at guests from Asia, is impressive. Although there were quite a few guests from Europe, there were no familiar flavors of the dishes for them. The meat that you wait a long time to have cooked for you was so tough that it was inedible. I will say again that there was no offering of fruit for dinner. only cakes and other things with a high sugar content. A study by the World Health Organization says that a quarter of the population suffers from diabetes or is in a pre-diabetic state.
What was offered for desserts in your resort can only increase the percentage.
The same can be said for the drinks that were stocked in the mini bar of the room. There was nothing for people like me who suffer from diabetes.
The main reason we rented a car was to go to supermarkets to buy fruits and foods with a low sugar content. This is the first time I've ever seen such a thing, that there was not a single fruit for dessert at dinner.
There was no elevator from floor zero to the first floor, where the main restaurant is. So people with wheelchairs and those with small children could not go up normally. I had to carry my child's stroller up 26 steps to the top.
I have a doubt in my mind how the hotel received five stars for what I saw as an offering, both in terms of food and amenities.
We were not assisted in renting a car by the hotel concierge. We had to call a manager for this, but he also did not help. We went to the neighboring hotel and rented a car from there in 10 minutes.
Guests of Indian origin were served with priority and I even had to raise a scandal in the restaurant that the table that my family and I were using was given to guests from India.
We witnessed an incident when guests from India came to the pool and let their children in and both almost drowned. They also took a photographer with them to capture these scenes. The pool staff rushed to save them. There was no lifeguard at the time.
I would not recommend the hotel to friends.

I have traveled to Mauritius more than 20 times. I love the people and the community.
In this hotel……
Service not great. Probably the poorest I have experienced in Mauritius.
Kids club dismal.
A lot of rocks in the swimming area in the sea which makes this an unfavourable experience compared to so many other areas in Mauritius.
Food quality and service not 5 star quality at all. Should be a 3 star.
Poor presentation of food. Staff working in the buffet are miserable and seem to be so unhappy.
They are also currently renovating so I would definitely not recommend going now!
Buffet horrible.
Food in the smaller restaurants better but service still poor. There are some amazing and friendly staff but unfortunately most are inexperienced and not friendly. Not really what you would expect from a Mauritius hotel.
We had a family room. The pull out couch bed was really bad. The mattress was very thin and terribly uncomfortable for the kids. I seriously would advise families to NOT go with a family room. It’s not great.
Unfortunately I can not recommend this hotel.
