Great location. From our upstairs beachfront apartment we could see the sea as well as the hotel's lagoon. Apartment nothing fancy, but spacious and had all we needed. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Again, nothing fancy, but nice and with local as well as "international" dishes. Staff all friendly, despite being overworked at times. Particular praise to Juan, Noel and Veronica for their friendliness.

Amazing location, lovely rooms and very safe. Beautiful resort - absolutely spotless with cleaners who come in once a day during your stay. My one comment is that the evening meals at the buffet restaurant don't have any indication as to what they are. I asked if something was vegetarian and was told yes - only to realise when eating it was chicken! Would be 5 stars if it was not for the meal labelling at the restaurant. Would still come again. :-)

Great, relaxing holiday destination. The facilities are a bit aged but I feel the price reflects this. The place was clean and the housekeeping was fast and efficient. I would definitely return, just keep in mind it's not been recently renovated!

Great place. Been here two weeks with the family on the beach front apartments. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Service is top marks. Very clean. 6 pools and a private beach front and the kids had fun trying them all. There is also a 25m pool for lane swimming which was free to use for guests. We were full board and the family found the food to be very good.
Read a lot of bad reviews before we came but they are all wrong. Must be people that just like to complain. Will definitely come back again.
We had a car hired while we stayed here and the hotel provided free parking next to entrance of hotel.

We read lots of negative reviews so we're panicking about going. We had beachfront 54. Large apartment. Well equipped. Was cleaned very well and towels and sheets were changed often. Very nice and convenient to be on the man made beach. Really glad we were not staying on any of the plazas. They were quite depressing. Staff were all hardworking and very pleasant and friendly. A long trek to reception. Lido bar was a lovely place to have a snack/breakfast/lunch. They do an English fry for 6 euro. A 15 min walk to town which we enjoyed.
The main complaints I'd have are that there is absolutely nothing to do. Absolutely no atmosphere. The only life or music was at the lido bar. It's very tired as well.
We made the most of Sands. We had a car and saw lots of the island.
We had a great holiday but won't be returning to Sands. Doesn't compare to Sol Lanzarote where we were last year.
