Staff is kind, welcoming and accommodating. But the service is inconsistent and constantly changing. The number of towels provided kept changing. We had to call the front desk at some point because the room was so poorly cleaned. Almost felt obliged to tip the staff just to get certain items that came with the room, such as water and coffee.
The breakfast staff started ignoring us during the second half of our stay (we were there 16 nights). We spent about an hour at breakfast in the beginning because the service was so good and fast but in the second half they started ignoring us and a coffee order started taking 10 min+
This is not to discredit the staff. Again, the people were great it just seemed like there were some poor managerial decisions being made. Like zero consideration for whether someone does or does not eat pork, for example. The labels were oftentimes not reliable or not even there at all. The breakfast buffet was nice although also inconsistent in a lot of areas. But it’s a five star meal compared to the lunch and dinner menu—one of which was part of our package. We could choose one meal to have at the hotel and it was honestly awful and we weren’t even given the choice to reduce the booking fee and forfeit the hotel meals. We only ate there maybe three times and never went back except for breakfast.
When we arrived, our room wasn’t ready which is very common. But they had us carry our own suitcases up the stairs after flying all night. They didn’t even mention that there was an option to stow the suitcases out of the way without the need to take the stairs. Only days later did we find out about a different guest entrance that goes directly to the grounds without passing through the front desk.
I think the best part was the spa. The staff there is kind and very welcoming, but also incredibly great at their jobs. We nearly sobbed after our first traditional Thai massage, Waw and Ying are healers. Amazing massage therapists and they deserve the world for their service.
Honestly all in all kind of a disaster considering how much we paid. 2 stars is kind of generous. The hotel grounds and the villa were incredible, but otherwise the whole thing was very disappointing.

We spent 4 nights at the Lamai Samui in a Pavilion Pool Villa. We loved the hotel - the villa was stunning, the private pool was a great size, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant are great, the main pool is a very good size, and direct access to the beach is a plus. The ocean pier is a great venue for cocktails and dinner with a stunning view. The location could be better as there aren’t many bars and restaurants nearby, but it’s easy enough to just get a taxi.

We had a fantastic time at The Lamai with our 7-month-old baby and enjoyed every moment! The hotel is incredibly child-friendly, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
Everyone was warm, attentive, and always ready to help, making our stay truly special. A huge thank you to Biggy, whose kindness and dedication made a lasting impression on us.
The resort is stunning, the food excellent, and the service outstanding. If you’re looking for a perfect place to relax with a baby, this is it! We’ll definitely be back! ❤️

Our plans changed day-of and we had to quickly find a place to stay for 4 nights. We randomly chose this place and we wished we would have been able to stay longer! The staff were incredible, so friendly and so accommodating. They came out after our meals to make sure everything was good and talked with us. The breakfast spread was the best we had on our 3 week stay in different resorts all over Thailand. Really appreciated the signs showing allergies on all of the food menu. The fruit was particularly delicious, sweet and fresh! The buy one get one drinks at happy hour at sunset on their floating pier was lovely. We loved our private villa with pool, it was all just so relaxing. We honestly thought about canceling our other accomodations to extend our stay here. Would highly highly recommend!

My wife and I loved our 9 night stay here, it was bit of a gamble to stay at one place for our first trip to Thailand. We stayed in the premium Ocean room villa which was incredible, we didn’t spend any time at all at the main pool as this room had the perfect plunge pool. The staff were all accommodating and beautiful people who always made us feel very welcome. The proximity to the Main Street was an easy 15 minute stroll which we did every day to shop and enjoy a massage or three. The trip was via Luxury Escapes and we would definitely recommend if looking for the perfect getaway. We will be back 😊
