Overall good to great stay but leaving with mixed emotions. It’s a beautiful property and we were pleasantly surprised when we saw the garden, it’s very well kept and makes the stay very tranquil. Room was clean and spacious and had everything we needed, apart from a speaker and a ceiling fan. TV is very small but we never ended up using it. Pool is clean. Entrances are guarded and overall we felt very safe. Every meal we had was great and they even attended to some special requests we had. Some desserts and the ice cream was too frozen and thus not the best, but, again, perfect is tough to achieve at all times. At the beginning of or stay we would have left a five, but as days passed, too many pitfalls and points of improvements popped up. At one point we were almost inclined to only leave a 3 star review.… We did experience the staff a bit slow and tired at times, we often saw them checking and scrolling their phones and it was sometimes difficult getting their attention. We had to ask for salt and pepper to be brought to the table for almost every meal which ended up getting very annoying. My sister had requested some sweets to be sent to our room in the morning for my 30th birthday but for some reason it was forgotten. Some of the staff was great and very attentive, don’t get me wrong, but some kept forgetting parts of our orders, and the last days they didn’t even bother to check up on us by the beach and instead they were three bartenders behind the second bar even if there were no other guests there. So, unfortunately, we had quite a frustrating end to our trip. We want to show understanding since it was close to the employees’ own vacation due to closing, but still, we are paying guests and would like to receive top service regardless. We also had some uncomfortable encounters with an employee from Romania. She was very tired, negative, and not very helpful.

Stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. The staff are so friendly, can't do enough. It's on the beach and there's a lovely big pool, good gym, private yoga sessions, a nice spa. It's very private and the staff ensure it stays this way as there's only 16 bungalows. They also organised a trip for us to see dolphins and turtles and the drivers/taxi service they use is brilliant too. Would definitely recommend for a quiet break, one of the best resorts we've stayed in

I don't write many reviews but this hotel really deserves it ! With the very entering of the resort they make you feel that you have come to the right place, to feel at home, to feel cared for and cared in exactly the best way. The atmosphere everywhere is cozy, everyone is smiling, they are ready to do anything to make their guests feel satisfied and happy and they do it from the heart and it shows! The pictures don't even show how beautiful the nature is there, the guys who maintain the garden are phenomenal, down to the smallest detail. For us, in terms of price and quality, they are unsurpassed! Everything was extremely tasty and beautiful, high quality drinks, cocktails and service.Special thanks to all the great team who made my birthday unforgettable, with all the surprises, you guys are great! and last but not least the outstanding Michelle! an amazing professional, an amazing person..without her, Tulia will not be the same !

I stayed in Tulia for two weeks and it was absolutely incredible! the staff are the kindest and lovely, always smile and giving you the best feeling ever. the rooms are big and super clean. I highly recommended on this hotel, was really outstanding and I will be back for sure!

We had a wonderful three nights at Tulia following 8 days of being on safaris. The resort’s grounds are gorgeous, the food was delicious and the staff is wonderful! We had a late flight from Zanzibar to get home. Our checkout was at 11 and they had someone checking into to our room. We thought we’d get into StoneTown but the logistics proved tough. Katrina and the staff were wonderful and let us use a different room for the day to shower and use the resort facilities without charge. It was above and beyond anything we’d have expected! It made a very long 3-flight trip home much easier. Thank you Tulia for putting an unexpectedly wonderful and generous end to a really fantastic trip!
