A cheap hotel, and that's about it. The best thing it offers is perhaps the small pool on the roof, but it’s dirty as well.
The food is VERY bad, with a very limited selection, so we went elsewhere to eat. At first, they give you a voucher for their so-called "restaurant," but the same evening, you're no longer allowed to dine there.
There are very few staff members, and no one is available to provide proper service.
The rooms are dark, dirty, damp, with lots of mold. The shower is covered in limescale, and we even saw a lizard and a cockroach inside.

I was sooo impressed by this hotel! The grounds are beautiful and peaceful and the location is fantastic. I had seen some average reviews before my stay, but after being here, I can't understand why! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Our waiter Milos made every meal special with his friendly smile and attention.🫶🏻The food was amazing, and you could feel it was made with love and care.
The team really looked after us, and I would love to come back!

I stayed at this place from 20 to 22 October. The rooms are tiny, but very aesthetically designed. And the rooms are not kitted out for somebody who is working remotely. The staff are very professional, although I had to see them 3 times in order to get a chair to work from. I forgot a parcel in the room after checking out and a lady called Kimberly was so gracious to keep it until somebody came and collected it. The downside is the noise from the rooftop bar. I checked in on a Sunday expecting peace and quiet, but the noise from that bar till very late at night was horrible. The beach was not working or swimming beach, which was a disappointment, but I can’t blame the hotel for that so it would not be a place that I would be visiting very soon.

Breakfast and restaurant food was below average unfortunately without many options.
Rooms don't have desks which made it difficult for a business trip. Room service failed to clean the floors nor make the bed properly.
Restaurant chairs are very uncomfortable, the same wooden ones you find in schools!
Really bad mosquito problem. You get eaten alive at the restaurants as it's outdoors.
The beach across the road is not the best, water is cold, murky and is at the mouth of a river.
Very little English spoken amongst the staff so they come across as very rude and unprofessional at times.

Our recent trip to Mauritius turned very special with a couple of days stay at Veranda Tamarin Hotel and Spa. The hotel is right opposite a open beach. We certainly enjoyed quite a few attractions going around the hotel. Hotel Staffs were amazing especially the Kayaking activity from the hotel was so special for our entire family. Special Thanks to our Instructor Whitney who was very friendly in guiding us how to kayak safely in the Black River Mangroove forest. Thank you Veranda & Team!
