Mermaid Hotel and Club is a lovely place to relax in serenity and peace. It has a beautiful pool, an an amazing ocean view. The rooms are neat and clean. The hotel staff is friendly, cautious and always ready to help. The food is placed with a wide variation of dishes, finely prepare. It is a place which is absolutely worth it to come back.

We had a great time during our 2 night 3 day stay. The hotel's sports facilities were well maintained, we especially enjoyed playing cricket and table tennis. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The Avurudu festivities organized by the hotel added to the fun. Food was average, with limited options for those who don’t eat pork, which could be improved. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and definitely good value for money

In April 2023, we spent a night at Mermaid Hotel in Kalutara, and it was a lovely and relaxing experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm and refreshing welcome, which instantly made us feel at home.
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast with a beautiful beach view, which made the morning even more special. The atmosphere was peaceful and perfect for unwinding.
We loved the pool area, which was clean and well-maintained,great for both relaxing and having fun. The hotel also offered packages for additional activities, giving guests plenty of options to enjoy their stay to the fullest.
Overall, it was a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the beach, and spend quality time. We truly appreciated the hospitality and would definitely recommend Mermaid Hotel for anyone visiting Kalutara.

I had a wonderful two-night stay at Trinco Blu by Cinnamon. The service provided by the hotel staff was excellent. From the warm welcome at the front desk to the attentive F&B team, everyone ensured we were well taken care of. The food was delicious, with a great variety to choose from—especially the hoppers, which were a standout.
The rooms were spotless, clean, and well-maintained. You can watch the sunrise right from the beach chalets, which also have access to a private beach. I loved spending the day just gazing out at the sea.

Wonderful stay at Trinco Blu for 3 nights with our 2 small children. The pool area was fabulous. There was a large restaurant which had a very good buffet with plenty of choice. Breakfast was very good. We had a beautiful room overlooking the ocean which was very close to the beach, and you could watch the local fishermen haul in their catch. The staff were exceptional, so friendly, welcoming and helpful. There’s a nice long beach too where you can walk and find other restaurants and bars. And it’s easy to get a TukTuck to get around.

I had the opportunity to stay at Trinco Blu by Cinnamon during the recent Wesak holiday, and it was truly a memorable experience. The hotel is beautifully located, facing the beach, offering stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere.
During the month of May, the sea is particularly calm, making it ideal for swimming and enjoying the ocean. The rooms and facilities were excellent, and we were very impressed by the level of comfort and cleanliness maintained throughout our stay.
The staff were exceptionally courteous and helpful, contributing greatly to the overall pleasant experience. The restaurant provided a variety of dining options, which my children thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall, it was a delightful stay, and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

Hotel is located at perfect location. Rooms are clean and well maintained. We reached hotel around 12.00.pm and lady at the reception was kind enough to let us check in early while allocating a room with stunning view of pool, beach, ocean and sky. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Kudos to all the staff.
Conns:
Even though they arranged buffet for all three meals, there wasn't a much of a variety compared to other hotels in cinnamon chain and there was a delay in filling as well. 30 min prior to finish buffet they stopped filling. Taste also very average.

We had a fantastic stay at Club Dolphin! The food was absolutely great, with plenty of variety to choose from. There was something to suit every taste at each meal. Even though the hotel was quite busy, there was so much space that it never felt crowded. The large pool, playgrounds, and access to the beach offered plenty of options for relaxation and fun.
The buffet was well-organized and delicious, and indoor sports facilities added a nice touch for those looking to stay active. The pool area was a highlight – one of the biggest I’ve seen, perfect for lounging or swimming. The beach was peaceful and well-kept. I also really enjoyed the buffet with its variety of fresh, tasty food and live cooking stations.
There were fun daily activities and shows, but also plenty of quiet spots to unwind. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I’d gladly return or recommend it to anyone looking for a great getaway.

We had two adjoining rooms on the ground floor for our family, meaning we were able to go straight out to the pool, which was perfect for us. The hotel was very clean and tidy, although one of our rooms did smell slightly of cigarette smoke. The food was tasty and fresh with a good selection of drinks in the all inclusive. The pools are great, nice and warm and plenty of areas for the young ones. Hotel is on the beach front, though the sea was too rough to go in whilst we were there.
It’s a bit out of the way of the main town so all inclusive was a good option. Service was generally good, except we did struggle a little at check in as it was so busy due to a national holiday.

Great experience.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner was excellent.
Meals were very tasty and a good selection in the buffet.
Rooms were comfortable with good AC, beds and supplies.
The hot water in the shower was going cold and hot from time to time while set to hot water (this was the only minor inconvenience).
Pool was excellent, very big and spacious and beautifully constructed.
The hotel is placed facing the beach and had a beautiful view.
All in all, it was a great experience.

Beautiful rooms overlooking the lake with a nice terrace. We asked for connecting rooms and the hotel was able to arrange it.
Food and the drinks at the pool side and at the a la cart restaurant were tasty and the team was very kind. attentive and friendly.
Pool is nice, we spent one full afternoon there. was so relaxing. the main downside is breakfast area; it was smelly, and the food was below average. the second morning we preferred to have some snacks in the room with coffee and not to walk in the buffet restaurant, Breakfast team was unfriendly and the lady at the egg station was rude to everyone..

We had a wonderful overall experience. The location was absolutely stunning, offering beautiful views (Mahaweli River) and a peaceful atmosphere that made it perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hotel itself was well-maintained, stylish, and very comfortable, with thoughtful touches throughout.
What really stood out was the exceptional service the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
The only downside was the food, which didn’t quite match the quality of the rest of the experience. While the presentation was nice, the flavors and variety left a bit to be desired. We hope to see some improvements on this front, as it would truly make the stay perfect.
Would still highly recommend the hotel for its ambiance, location, and outstanding service!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The pool area is a highlight – beautifully maintained with plenty of loungers in the shade, perfect for relaxing throughout the day. The poolside bar offers a lovely view of the river and creates a great atmosphere to unwind with a drink.
Both the dinner buffet and breakfast impressed us with their wide variety and quality. The service was attentive and friendly throughout our stay. Our room was clean and well-kept, adding to the overall comfort.
The staff were consistently warm and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. All in all, a very well-run hotel – highly recommended!

The location is a bit out of the way but the view is spectacular. This is at best a 3 star hotel masquerading as a 5 star. While the property itself would pass off as a 4 star at best what drags it down is the service level especially of the waiting staff at the poolside bar and restaurant. They simply have no idea what they are doing and had to be reminded several times about basic things to do like setting up a table. Also there were some really loud and obnoxious guests creating a racket in the area and the staff did nothing about it. Waiting staff at breakfast restaurant was pretty good at their job.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this hotel.
It’s a calm and relaxing place with a friendly atmosphere, beautifully themed in pink. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained. One of the standout features was the centralized control panel for the lights, fan, and air conditioning—definitely a plus point!
And the view? Absolutely breathtaking. The ocean view from our room was simply “wow.”
We initially reserved a triple room but were given a double room instead. Once we informed the staff, they arranged the room accordingly. However, the complimentary kits, tea tray set, and other amenities were only provided for two people, which was a bit disappointing.
The staff were friendly and supportive, though a bit inefficient. Despite booking through their official website, we had to wait almost 40 minutes to complete the check-in process.
The buffet offered a decent variety of food, and the taste was quite good.

We stayed in a Superior Room, which was very spacious, well-organized, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety available at the buffet.
The hotel offers easy access to the beach, and the presence of lifeguards provided an added sense of safety for all guests.
Just two small suggestions: it would be great to have more choices in the à la carte menu, and increasing the fragrance in the room would enhance the overall ambiance.

We went to royal palms beach hotel for a staff day-out a couple of months ago. Since it was a large crowd we got two rooms to use which was good since we all had a dip in the pool before lunch. Since this is my 3rd time visiting the hotel I must say I still love their food. They have a hood variety of meat options which I love. And the desserts were good too. The pool
is amazing and having a pool bar is really nice. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The hotel is immaculate with old fashioned artifacts which gave it a royal vibe. Overall the experience was quite nice. Hopefully I will be back there soon.

Went for a day out at this hotel and their hospitality was amazing. The staff was well mannered and helpful. Had their special easter lunch buffet which had a good spread and items were tasty, specially the dessert bar. Their pool was one of the largest I have been to in SL and it's the main attraction. The entire experience was good and we loved it overall, however, we would not come back. Why? No info about the rooms or overall hotel. The rooms were a little strange. The lighting is hidden behind little panels which you need to discover - we didn't discover these for several hours. The rooms are also very dark. Dark furniture and colour scheme, dark rug and subdued lighting. The controls on the shower are different to anything we had seen before and it was hard to get the right temperature. It was either cold or hot. We could not find the gym and only discovered the beach side bar by chance.
We had a small injury and while the staff tried hard they had no real first aid training and their kits were not equipped. We were here in the off season and not everything was available. We tried calling reception about something and no-one answered.
While the location is wonderful for access to the National Park, there is nothing else. No shopping, no other choice for dining.

Our room was very spacious, well-designed, and complete with a private balcony offering beautiful uninterrupted views of the beach. The hotel reception area was also breathtaking and felt very special. There is a lot of wildlife surrounding the hotel - but you are unable to walk on the beach at dusk due to wild animals.
However, while the property itself was beautiful, the service fell short of the five-star experience we expected and as advertised by the hotel. Upon check-in, the staff handed us our keys and simply waved us to follow a long hallway to our room rather than escorting us directly there and showing us around our room. We didn’t mind the walk itself (which took about five minutes, as we timed it), but the lack of attentiveness and warmth felt a bit underwhelming for a hotel of this caliber.
A more disappointing moment occurred when we woke up at 5 a.m. to leave for a safari and asked the man at reception for two bottles of water to bring with us. We were told that water was unavailable unless we had "pre-ordered" it the night before. We were never informed of this requirement, and when we asked if water could be arranged from elsewhere in the hotel, the staff member simply shrugged and told us there was nothing they could do. Given that providing water to guests is a basic request, it was surprising — and frankly frustrating — that such a simple need could not be met. There was no proactive effort to find a solution (e.g. to arrange bottles of water to be brought from elsewhere like the restaurant or kitchen), and it left us feeling disappointed in the overall service.
Overall, we had a beautiful stay at the hotel, but the service did not quite match the high standard we were hoping for. That said, we would still recommend the hotel for its stunning location, beautiful rooms, and overall ambiance.

We stayed two nights at Jetwing Yala on 18th and 19th April. We are a family of three and we got two rooms. Our rooms were with large balconies overlooking the sea with unforgettable view. Overall our stay was a very pleasant one from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. Hotel ambiance was very relaxing and we met very friendly service staff everywhere. Being a hotel built in a corner of a jungle, the experience we had was unique. We were lucky to see a large leopard at a very close range during our safari trip. The food was very good and the variety at the buffet was extremely good. There was a choice for everybody. Hotel is conveniently located for safari tours, being situated very close to the main entrance of The Yala National Park. Swimming pool is quite large one and very relaxing area in the evening. My wife and I got massage treatment at the Spa and it was very good. Special thanks to Gayan, assistant front office manager and Nishantha, F&B manager. Both of them are very well trained professional hoteliers always attending to guest needs. I am a retired senior hotelier with a very long work experience in 5-star international hotels in many countries and I highly recommend Jetwing Yala for any one who wants to enjoy a safari trip and a relaxed hotel stay in a quiet location.

Incredibly well appointed hotel. Rooms are very spacious, particularly the bathroom which was huge and had double height ceiling above the shower. Location for safari is fantastic, and there’s a lot of wildlife even in the hotel grounds itself. Best part is probably the pool set up, must be 50m+ in length and a great temperature. Just awesome.

The rooms were fine and spacious and very comfortable, with the climate control very easy to handle.

Had a wonderful experience. Hosts were incredible, especially one of them, Roche. Rooms and facilities available were amazing. The selection of food wasn't too bad, with a mix of local and foreign cuisine. All staff including janitorial were extremely pleasant and lovely and made the stay very enjoyable.

Had an amazing weekend stay at The Blue Water Hotel with my family! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed graciously, and to our delight, I was upgraded to a suite. The room was huge, featuring a separate sitting area, jacuzzi, balcony, in-room dining, and a tea-making area. Everything was in top condition, and all the amenities were well thought out.
The food was excellent, with a great variety and multiple action stations (sometimes even more than two!). The hotel has massive pools, plenty of space to walk around, and a beautiful beachfront. Almost all the staff were friendly and attentive—though it seemed like a few might have missed the itinerary! 😄
Overall, it was an incredible stay that far exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!

It has one of the most beautiful hotel entrances, with the sea visible as soon as the huge Fortress doors are opened. Friendly and welcoming staff, with valet parking, and smooth check in. The rooms were huge and staff came and explained the room in detail for each room. The pool is huge and is amazing. The kids loved the gradient floor of the pool, the gardens and the swings placed at different locations were very thoughtful for that overall relaxing experience. The sauna, steam room, spa were all very good. The gym was well equipped too. The food was quite good with a good variation. An area to work on would be to not have long intervals when serving the a la cart menu, as we had to sometimes wait more than 20 minutes for the food to come. When we mentioned this to them they made sure that it didn't happen on the second day, which was a great improvement. All in all, it was a great experience.

The Fortress is a simply magnificent Resort. This beach front Resort has all the facilities you can ever want for a relaxing and truly enjoyable experience. We travelled from Australia and stayed two nights in the Ocean room which was very spacious and clean with all the facilities you need. We had our Wedding Ceremony at the Fortress and there is simply no words to describe the wonderful experience we had. Every aspect of our wedding ceremony was professionally and meticulously arranged by the staff at the Fortress. From organising the necessary marriage documents to the floral arrangements, wedding bouquets and bower, decorations, cake, celebrant, music, photography, special celebratory dinner, and the list goes on., we couldn’t have been happier with all of these things and the very best service we received at the Fortress. A special mention to our wedding coordinator ‘GAYANI’ who went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding ceremony was successful and memorable. Her attention to detail and dedication to make sure we were happy with all the arrangements is something we will always remember and be grateful for. From the time we arrived until we checked out the service was exceptional. All the staff never fail to smile and greet us. The food was delicious & the atmosphere was refreshing.

Our spacious room comfortably accommodated the three of us, and the breathtaking ocean view made for countless hours of relaxation, listening to the waves. The staff was exceptionally helpful and always greeted us with a smile, making us feel truly welcome. The highlight of our stay was the food—delicious, high-quality, and with an extensive menu, plus 24-hour room service!
One small suggestion would be to add doorbells to the rooms for added convenience.

We had a great stay! The rooms are spacious, elegant, and clean, with everything just right. The balcony was a good size and perfectly equipped, making it a great spot to relax. We had requested rooms next to each other, and the hotel team kindly arranged it.
The location is truly special, one side of the hotel offers a stunning lake view, and you can walk all the way through the property to reach the beautiful beach on the other side. The pools are lovely, and the pool bar is cool. The team there is friendly, attentive, and they even remembered our previous orders, which made us feel genuinely welcomed.
The buffet for both breakfast and dinner were excellent, offering a wide variety of tasty dishes with something for everyone. The setting, overlooking the lake, made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The selection covers most cuisines, so there's always something new and delicious to try.
Overall, this hotel stands out for its thoughtful service, beautiful setting, and exceptional amenities. We would gladly return and highly recommend it!

A very beautiful hotel in a perfect location! The service is excellent, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The beach and the sea are just steps away, and there are plenty of activities to make your stay even more enjoyable.
I’d especially like to highlight Roland, who offers yoga classes. He does a fantastic job and is really kind. The yoga sessions were a true highlight and made my stay even more relaxing.
Overall, a highly recommended hotel – everything is spot on here!
