I loved everything about this resort!! From the super friendly and accommodating staff to the marvelous breakfast I enjoyed every morning. The staff at breakfast make it their business to learn your name. They greet you with such joy! The food was a smorgasbord of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Everything was delicious. We didn’t have an itinerary but the staff connected us with everything we wanted to do. I love this place and you will too!

We had a two-night stay at this hotel, and overall it was quite enjoyable. The hotel has a stunning lobby and an amazing outdoor pool with a poolside bar where you can order drinks and food while relaxing in the pool. However, there's room for improvement in the bar menu, as the cocktail options were limited, and the bartenders, although friendly, could benefit from expanding their drink-making knowledge. The room was clean, and we loved its beautiful design. Breakfast was excellent, with many options to choose from. The restaurant's layout was a bit inconvenient, as different food sections were spread far apart, requiring multiple trips back and forth. Consolidating the food into one area would greatly improve the dining experience. Regarding location, being right by the beach was a plus, but the hotel is rather far from the city, making it a bit inconvenient for those looking to enjoy the nightlife. Despite this, I would still recommend this hotel, as our overall experience was pleasant and enjoyable.

As a former Ritz Carlton culinary management employee in the US, I believe I can corroborate that the Sakala Hotel is absolutely a 5 stars establishment. Me and my family spent last weekend there and everything was top notch. Incredible staff attention, a beautiful and great size room, good food, and amazing location. Major plus for parents is their kids club where the kiddos really had fun and didn't want to leave, which really allowed my wife and I to enjoy our time even more. First time there, but definitely not the last. The whole family is looking forward to staying there again !

Beware of the cancellation policy prior to booking. We made a booking at this hotel for July 2025 and believe that the promise of a private beachfront hotel are quite exaggerated with only a small sectioned off area to fit that criteria. We asked for a refund and were told no, as per their booking policy. I have since asked twice for an explanation as to why they cannot refund and have not received a response. Had I booked with a secondary site such as booking.com etc... the price was fully refundable, but when booking direct, you are not entitled. Be very, very careful and vigilant when booking direct. Your money is much safer through a secondary site.

We are very happy repeat guests. Sol charms with beautiful gardens, traditional architecture and tranquil atmosphere. Lovely deep pool and direct access to the beach. It has all the expected features of a hotel at this level with modern large rooms, airy open spaces and everything spotlessly clean. Its biggest asset is always the friendly, helpful staff. The addition of young trainees has only added to the pleasure of being greeted with gentle smiles and welcomes

MY wife and I have just returned from from a 5 night stay at Sol by Melia and I can't recommend it enough! It was absolutely sensational. The hotel is small compared to some of the neighbouring hotels, but has everything you need. We had the all inclusive option and found it to be great. Food was always nice, consistent with some fantastic dishes. We were lucky to have a poolside room and it was huge, clean, great air conditioning, great amenities and the bed was comfy. Bar fridge was also topped up daily and complimentary as we had the all inclusive. Beach out the front was great and clean. All the staff were absolutely incredible. So friendly, happy and nothing was ever a problem. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely return. It's so peaceful and relaxing. I'd also recommend taking the all inclusive option

Spent 2 great weeks at Sol by Melia, all staff were very pleasant and helpful. Advise beach shoes for going into sea but well worth it as went into sea most days. Luckily not to busy so no issue with sunbeds and pool was like getting into a warm bath. Food at buffet although good could be a bit hit or miss, great advantage though was the Al a carte option in The Kitchen restuarant which you can use every day Lunch or Dinner. Would recommend this Hotel without hesitation.

Firstly, I have to mention this hotels best feature is the staff , the whole team from the reception through to service and cleaning teams are friendly and accommodating. Surrounding the hotel is spotless and well maintained and has everything you need. The spa and gym are excellent. Food and drink are also good. Would definitely recommend a massage while staying here. We had a great stay. Thank you for making our stay in Bali fantastic ❤️.

The resort is clean, the rooms are also in good condition, it has a quite and nice private beach and the resort is well located. The best thing about Sol by Melia Benoa Bali is however the staff! From the first moment we arrived we felt very welcomed. They are very helpful and friendly. Spent two weeks in this amazing resort. I would definitely come again. Big thanks to all of the staff!

Deluxe Garden Villa was lovely and quiet. Housekeeping and reception staff amazing. They did our laundry beautifully, and cookies before bed. Buffet breakfast was amazing so much choice and good coffee and juices, breads galore and even fondue fountain for the kids. The only thing was service at the main restaurants was very slow and meals are small portion sizes. Pools were beautiful and pool bar with huge variety of cocktails. At the resort Day Spa we enjoyed a relaxing massage.

Fantastic Holiday hotel. The location is perfect with the beach right out front and garlic lane shopping from the other side. There are two pools one great for the family, the other has a swim up bar and daybeds looking across to the beach. The grounds are well maintained. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The Staff are super helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet is awesome with a range of treats from around the globe . What I like most about Legian Beach Hotel is it manages to create a relaxed Bali holiday vibe without sacrificing any service. I stayed in the Garden Villa with lots of surprise extras included .

Had a lovely stay at the hotel. Food exceptional and service above and beyond. Having staff remember your name especially being VIP. Loved the food options for breakfast buffet and during the day. Facilities are superb. Room service is pricey and the beds are solid. Otherwise all was lovely. Big shout out to Kevin wait staff in the restaurant. He was hilarious 😂 and accommodating. There were 2 other lady staff members but forgot their names. Also gave exceptional service, breakfast staff. Thank you again. Pool was so warm and lovely. The beach is a hop and skip away but don't swim is polluted, unfortunately. Sitting on the level 2 bar watching sunsets was divine sipping mango juices.

Let me start off by saying the hotel grounds are stunning. The location is also perfect. The restaurants are phenomenal. With that being said the front desk staff left a lot to be desired customer service wise. It was like pulling teeth to get them to comply with any request. We had about 7 rooms in our group and a few had bugs in them. I think the doors just don’t seal well.

The Bali Tropic resort is an older resort in the traditional Balinese style. Personally I appreciated the Balinese design and liked this aspect but they could probably make a few small updates to give it a fresher look. However I do NOT recommend booking a deluxe room. These are all in one small building tucked into the back of the resort with half looking directly into the back of another building. The majority of the resort is the deluxe bungalows which are nice and spacious. I choose to upgrade after seeing the deluxe room and I suggest the same for others. The staff are all extremely friendly and you can see they try hard to make you enjoy your stay. The general demographic was 90% Europeans aged in their 50-70s on the all-inclusive package. This meant that there was a lot of people drinking at the pool bar and smoking around the pool all day which wasn’t ideal for our young family. Suggestion for improvement- if you want to be family friendly then there must be a non smoking area by the pool. Lastly the food was very average. We ate at the restaurant and ordered room service and found it all very underwhelming. Breakfast buffet is fine but for anything more I would eat elsewhere.

This was a great resort to visit. Its an older resort built in traditional Balinese style with carved doors and Balinese inspired rooms. While being older the staff are exceptional and service was amazing. We had an all inclusive package which is well and truly worth it. Chika the main pool bar tender is amazing. Highly recommend this resort. Sadly they have closed their kids club. Otherwise I have nothing negative I could say.

Our stay at the Bali Tropical resort and spa was absolutely amazing. Excellent value for money with the all inclusive package, food was amazing and good quality and the staff were very helpful in regard to me having allergies. The facilities were clean and very well maintained and the daily activities they run were amazing and also included with the price of all inclusive, I went on a snorkeling tour on a boat all for free! I would recommend going to this resort and hope to return soon. Also special mention to Dicka he was amazing very kind, friendly and helpful

Spent a week here, rooms were excellent really liked the Bali architecture through out the resort, staff are very friendly and helpful. All inclusive plan is great value. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort.

This a 3 star hotel at best. The best thing about it is the lovely staff, they are to be commended, could not fault them. It’s not clean and very tired. The pool needs a good clean as well. The way they serve the all inclusive beer is ridiculous and I did put a bit of a complaint but it fell on deaf ears. If I hadn’t done all inclusive at 2 other hotels, I wouldn’t have anything to compare it with but for the same price, this one comes in at the bottom of the three so far, won’t be going back. I hate doing negative reviews but couldn’t let this one go, sorry 😞

We had a fantastic stay at the family paradise side of the resort. Lots of activities to keep the kids engaged & great premises. Clean, modern, well maintained & very well thought out architecture. Staff is extremely courteous, always cheerful & so very helpful & accomodating. Both the swimming pools were a hit with the kids & so many activities in the kids club. Fun movie nights for kids with popcorn. Also there are themed dinners at the restaurants & we enjoyed some wonderful bands singing, cabaret dances & a superb fire dance show. Private beach access & so many water sports activities to keep you engaged.

We had the all inclusive package and every part of our stay was perfect. From free pick up to the food options to the drinks to the service it was all amazing. The location is great with some cheap shops, massage and restaurants near by. The service was exceptional at every point. Friendly and would go out their way to help. The pool is great, and the grounds are well looked after with grass areas and beach area amazing. Highly recommended.

I’ve been to this place twice now, and each visit has been fantastic! The food is always fresh, delicious, and well-prepared. The pools are clean, never too crowded, and provide a relaxing experience. With the all-inclusive package, you really can’t go wrong – it’s great value for the experience. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, which makes the whole stay even better. The surrounding area is safe, and there are plenty of options for massages, laundry services, convenient stores, and coffee shops nearby. Highly recommend!

We had unfortunatly an old room with faults and reported them. They did offer an upgrade but we could not be bothered by the hassle having already unpacked. We feel they should of put us in a better room to start with! The hotel itself is undergoing some maintenance (not mentioned when booking), the staff were great and the gardens lovely. The beach is nice but there is quite a bit of rubbish around and when you go out to sea past the first set of nets there is far too much rubbish and plastic everywhere.

Great family hotel. Separate family section is great for families and adults only section great for those with no children. Fabulous amenities, lots of restaurants to choose from and THALASSO Bali spa is great. All inclusive is great value and includes so much for the price. Staff are super friendly and go out of their way to help if needed.

My husband and I came here as our first hotel on our honeymoon. We did the all inclusive and it was nice to not limit ourselves because they also offer non all inclusive. We stayed in a regular room, which was good with us because we didn’t spend much time in the room. The rooms definitely need to be updated, as they are doing renovations from my understanding soon, so that’s good they acknowledge that! I am gluten free and they had a lot of food options if you asked! They have gluten free bread, pasta and pizza! Also the coffee shop on site has gluten free pastries which was included in the all inclusive. Everyone there was great and very friendly. We also enjoyed the spa the day after we got there after our long flight and it was wonderful. The resort is pretty kid focused but the kids never bothered us. We were only there for a few nights which we thought was more than enough and wish the breakfast varied a little more day to day, but the juices at breakfast were always top notch & it was nice to have an egg station. They do not mark allergens on the buffet, which would have been a huge help to me, but I just ate what I knew I could. Overall, it was great for relaxing as a first stop on our honeymoon but I don’t think we would have wanted to stay there longer than 4 nights!

Had leaky AC in the room and also very noisy and rattled. However, maintenance guy’s cane and fixed it quickly so thumbs to their service and efficiency. Great room, we had a lagoon pool suite, was great. Food average at the hotel so we ate our after the first night

I really wanted to give this hotel a higher rating, but after some thought, this is the best I can do. My family opted for the all-inclusive package and tried to experience everything the resort had to offer. The kids loved the Kids Club—no complaints there. My wife and I made use of the sporting facilities, including the squash courts (which are air-conditioned but have a deteriorating floor), tennis courts, and bikes for rides along the beach path. However, the entire resort feels quite outdated, nowhere near a five-star standard. They are planning renovations soon, so I would suggest waiting to book until after those are complete. We’ve visited Bali before and know how to be cautious with the water, but despite being careful, both my wife and I got Bali belly at different times. After considering all the factors, we believe it came from the drinks, which was quite frustrating. There’s essentially only one pool everyone can use unless you’ve booked one of the exclusive ones, which limits the experience. Room service food was subpar compared to other resorts we’ve stayed at on the island. Some of the restaurants, like the Japanese one, were exceptional—truly top-tier—but others, like El Patio, were lacking in quality. One big issue was the pool chairs. There’s a rule that towels left unattended will be removed, but it’s not enforced. We found the same guests claiming the best spots every morning, leaving their belongings there for hours without showing up. Enforcing this rule would really help others enjoy those prime spots closer to the pool. The buzzers for ordering food or drinks by the pool rarely worked, although the staff, when they did come by, were always friendly and helpful. The YHI Spa is easily a five-star experience—my wife and I both had multiple massages, and each one was fantastic. The rooms are in desperate need of renovation. The bathrooms are dated, with poor water pressure and small, outdated shower heads. It just doesn't feel like a five-star resort in this condition. On a positive note, the gardens are beautifully maintained and a pleasure to walk through. In summary, while there were some high points, especially the spa and some of the restaurants, the resort is currently not at the five-star level it claims to be. I’d recommend waiting until after the renovation to see if it improves.

We wish we had read the reviews before booking. Despite notifying the hotel about our vegetarian dietary needs, breakfast was the same every day. We had to keep asking different chefs for something different, but nothing changed. The hotel claims to have multiple pools, but we were restricted to one. Good luck finding a beach bed if you’re not up by 9 am. We expected the warm Balinese hospitality we’ve experienced elsewhere, but it was missing here. Overall, very dissatisfied and felt it was a waste of money.

We stayed for 3 nights, from April 1 to 4, 2025 at Impressive Lagoon Suites. The resort is not large (in comparison to other 5 stars resorts we have stayed before), but with proper settings it feels comfortable. The impressive lagoon suites (with additional 1 bed) is enough for a family of 5 people (which I gratefully thankful, because not many 5 stars resorts permit a family of 5 people stay in 1 room). The room is clean, very comfortable, and has good wifi connection for online game. The staff are very polite. They said we had a buttler service for staying at an impressive lagoon suites, who can be approached by whatsapp. Until the day we departed, they still didn't text me their buttler's whatsapp number 🙄. We also had an incident in the breakfast room when the staff chased us to collect the payment (they mistook us for other guest), which was quite embarassing. The problem was resolved with an apology after I contacted the front office. The pool is facing the beach and has a very excellent view during sunrise. Too bad the sun loungers have many birds' stools, please make sure the staff to clean them. The breakfast is quite good and the room dining has a good settings. You have to try Kuu resto (a Japanese resto), they taste very good.

Absolutely amazing experience – I can confidently say it's better than the Hyatt. The staff are constantly cleaning no matter where you are, and the entire place feels exceptionally hygienic. The restaurant is excellent, with beautiful ocean views right in front. The WhatsApp-based butler service is next-level – unlike many other Southeast Asian resorts, they respond within a minute, every time. That kind of speed and precision is a clear reflection of outstanding management. Having visited hundreds of resorts, I rarely feel this impressed. But Maya Sanur truly moved me. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Spent 2 weeks at this amazing beachfront hotel, would highly recommend. The staff are very attentive, professional and can’t do enough for you. Enjoyed time at the spa would definitely recommend Balinese massage & warm stone massage. So much to choose from at breakfast. I stayed in an Impressive Lagoon Pool room which was huge but very nice. Solo traveller made to feel very comfortable and at ease all times.

The hotel is great with fantastic rooms and a great location. There are just a couple of things that let it down. The main pool is shallow at 1.2m, whilst this is great for families with young kids (we have 2) i would prefer a slightly deeper pool as I struggled to swim properly. The other is the beach, it's not great. There is a lot of seaweed and it's shallow so cannot swim much. Bali has a big problem with litter and there is a lot of litter on the beach. The hotel does clean up their portion of the beach however the neighbouring sites have a lot of litter and when you are swimming in the sea you will see this. It's most of Bali that you will encounter the same issue so it's not unique to this hotel. I have fed this back to our travel agents and it was my agents that oversold the beach. If you can ignore the litter and just want a beach to walk on then it's fine. Location is great and there are loads of shops and hotels on the road so you are spoilt for choice.

It’s the best hotel we ever stayed in. Of course the decorations and architecture is almost a piece of art, and the rooms are amazing, but in this place particularly you’ll find the best customer service ever. Buda, Asmika, Wisna, Hermanto and Aldi are amazing, not only they cleaned our rooms in the morning and in the evening, they were also making towel arts after each passage and leaving cute notes asking if everything was okay or wishing us a good night or morning, we’ve never seen this in any place before, they truly care about customers and this is rare. If you decide to go to the restaurant ( what I strongly advise because the food is amazing) you’ll find there Lia and her colleagues that will do everything for you to feel waited there. They will remember your name, serve you with an elegance that exists only in Asian countries and care about you and adapt meals to your tastes or allergies. I once asked for an avocado toast that wasn’t on the menu, but they still did it, just for me, in other hotels they would just say sorry, we do only what’s on the menu, so I really advise to everyone that are looking for a place where to relax and have a good time to visit maya sanur!!

Maya Ubud is a paradise! Everything from the minute we walked in was anticipated and taken care of. Nothing was too big or small of a request and the staff were lovely. We would like to point out the outstanding service we received from both Eka and Gangga! They were always so helpful, happy and greeted us with kind conversation. They responded quickly whenever we needed something and remembered our names from the moment we met. The grounds of the resort are stunning and there’s lots of different areas to explore. We loved the Riverside pool and Tree Bar. Housekeeping were great and the little treats that kept coming to our room were a very nice surpise.

Staying at Maya Ubud was the experience of a lifetime. The level of service and attention we have received is unmatched. While we stayed we did the couples massage, visited both pools, free yoga, complimentary photoshoot, and watched the barong dance. We also had breakfast at the hotel most mornings, which is an amazing value and wonderfully diverse selection. I will miss the butter cakes and fresh juice bar!!! The grounds are immaculate. The concierge is so accommodating on arrival. We stayed in a pool villa and had the immense pleasure of having Ricky take care of us. He was so kind and thoughtful during our stay and always available to help via WhatsApp. He’s also very funny! We will miss everyone at Maya Ubud and are counting down the days till we can have another dream vacation here.

We stayed a Maya Ubud in January for a week and it was absolutely lovely. Top notch experience at Maya Ubud. I was a bit skeptical because everyone kept saying Ubud is a far location but on getting there, my worries were completely over. I will not have it any other way. Very beautiful serene and clean environment. The buffet breakfast was my best meal time of the day, beautiful selection of fresh delicious dishes. The different dance types during dinner at Mayasari were super entertaining. I can bet that I had the best butler of all hands down. Accommodations: The resort as a whole, the lobby, and the rooms and the walking path, forest are very clean lovely and stunning. Valley service Five stars for service Check-in procedure and receptionist: 4.5 stars (can't offer 5 because I arrived after 14.00 and the room wasn't ready, but I only had to wait 10-20). Alright 10 stars for the Mayasari restaurant; the service was excellent, especially from Mrs. Dewi, who is incredibly kind, considerate, amiable, and attentive. Since I'm Muslim and pick my food carefully, she truly understands our worries and provides excellent service and thorough explanations so that we may enjoy every moment at the Mayasari restaurant, from breakfast to supper Dinner with fire dancing to afternoon tea. The food was very good, and The Indian butter chicken and paratha are excellent, by the way. Overall : Our Heart was stolen by Maya Ubud 😊😊😊
