It was my first time in New York and was looking for a good place to stay in to fulfilling my trip and this hotel was the place! The staff are so friendly and are an amazing part to the stay! They welcomed us so nicely and we were given an amazing room! It was clean, modern, spacious and was beyond our expectations with breathtaking views of the city! The location is great with many restaurants shops and transport systems nearby and very close to many tourist areas like Central Park and Times Square! If I ever return to NYC, I would deffo return to this hotel! 💙

We nearly forgot we were in New York, the hotel was well appointed and situated central to our area of function and most of all guest services were so nice and welcoming. Elevators clean and fast, hallways clean and clear, art work eye catching and dust free and our room offered great views of the city. Honestly when we travel to NYC, we don’t expect to be floored or impressed with accommodations but I can say we were. Additionally, staying in the 23rd floor was a good cushion from the street noise. High praise to such a great run and maintained faciility and the talented staff!

Overall, this is a good, decent, clean, and safe hotel. Which are all pluses. Overall, I’d give it a solid B-.
The staff is excellent and very friendly. Things are very clean. The location is across from the subway. There are lots of restaurants in the area and it’s next door to a Duane Reade drug store-which is great for essentials. The rooms have excellent blackout shades. There is a coffee shop on premises. Our room was a good size, with a nice sofa and desk.
Drawbacks:
The beds are hard-like really hard. Our pillows were fairly flat.
The water pressure is low.
There’s some sort of timer or motion-detector on the AC, so the room was always hot when we came back.
The “cafe” they have for breakfast is really a glorified Starbucks. The breakfast sandwiches are microwaved.
The toilets are low to the ground.
There are awkward areas in the room (the cabinet fridge opens one way and the door for the fridge the opposite).
There’s no true full-length mirror.
The vanity area is small.
The hotel, at some point in the past 2-3 years, looks like it did a halfway renovation.

Unfortunately a barely mediocre hotel…
Stars for location, close to a subway station - Midtown.
Service was not great. When we checked in the lady at the check in counter was not friendly at all. Our room only had decaf coffee… and there was no room service for short stays so we never got a refill for coffee. The telephone in our room did not work. There was a conference when we were staying at the hotel and some how there seemed to be only ONE single elevator working for 10+ floors at the hotel. We had to wait 30 minutes for the elevator. We requested late check out and that was never properly communicated to house keeping.

I would like to bring attention to a few things from a recent 7 night stay at the Courtyard Midtown East in New York City.
As a Titanium Elite member I will check out of this hotel quite disappointed. The air conditioner didn’t function well and after repeated requests for maintenance, and reminders as they usually went unanswered, the room stayed at an unacceptable 80°.
A fan was brought to the room to “help cool it down.” No offer to relocate us, no apology for inadequate equipment, barely even an acknowledgment of the problem.
Also, I had to request coffee for the room every day because housekeeping neglected to refill that along with the shampoo and body wash bottles on the wall.
A hotel room with 31 floors needs to have more than one functioning elevator. The letter posted outside the lobby elevator bank saying there is an event and elevator service may be “slow” is fooling no one.
I spend 120 plus nights a year in a hotel. I choose Marriott for most of them. I am also Diamond with Hilton.
I feel that every person checking into a hotel room deserves functioning equipment but Titanium Elite needs to garner some sort of appreciation. There needs to be some reason to continue to choose Marriott and this last week gave me none.
