Disney's Contemporary Resort

My wife and I both have wanted to stay here since we were little kids. Now that we are able to afford it, the old adage, be care what you wish for, comes into play. I cannot even begin to describe the level of disappointment. First, there are a total of 10 king beds in the entire resort and even though they advertise king rooms, and we requested one, you will not get it. Second, the beds themselves are super uncomfortable and the foam pillows are ridiculous. Third, the water pressure in the shower is a trickle and there is nothing to grab on to as you get in and out of the overly large step in to the tub/shower combo. Fourth, and the part that is completely unacceptable, was housekeeping. We go back to our room, at 5PM, and the room had not yet been cleaned. They had signs up about leaving towels in places and something about the sheets, so we thought, without investigating, that they just do not clean every day, like a lot of resorts do now. We were wrong and housekeeping came while my wife was in the shower and I was on the balcony. The housekeeper knocked as she opened the door, and my wife, still in the shower, said please come back in 30 minutes. The housekeeper left, but came back 10 minutes later, knocking as she opened the door again, but this time just came right in while I was in the shower and my wife was getting dressed. My wife was shocked and the housekeeper just kept coming in! My wife had to tell her, while the housekeeper is staring at her half naked, that she was getting dressed and said it has only been 10 minutes. The housekeeper left in a huff and when she did come back, did a terrible job cleaning the room. This is unacceptable at any level of a hotel, but at a Disney resort, it is outrageous. Look, kids have a great experience at any Disney resort and the convenience of the Contemporary location cannot be beat, but for the price and poor quality of the housekeeping and the less than adequate rooms, you are paying a premium for a hotel that is past it's prime. That and the standards of Disney's staff, at least in housekeeping, has clearly plummeted. There were wonderful cast members we had interactions with, which is why I give the service 2 stars. And the location, especially if you have a park view to see the fireworks, is perfect. But if you are a Disney adult, there are much better resorts to stay at.

Definitely a great location for access to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. The rooms are really nice and so many fun details. The outside area has a bunch of stuff to do near the pools and volleyball court. The monorail is accessible from here and there's several dining options and shopping areas as well. Typical Disney proces for the rooms but the definitely go the extra mile when needed.

We didn’t realize we got the Garden wing which is located in a building off to the side so we asked about upgrading and were upgraded for free. Made our vacation to Disney for the first time extra special! The rooms were so clean and pretty views. Love that there is a coffee shop right downstairs. There is also a viewing area for fireworks if you just want to stay at the hotel instead of being at Disney! Would def stay here again!

Disney’s Contemporary Resort is hands down one of the best resorts we’ve stayed at in Walt Disney World! The location cannot be beat—you can literally walk to Magic Kingdom in under 10 minutes, or hop on the monorail right inside the hotel. The views of Cinderella’s Castle and the nightly fireworks from our room were unforgettable. The rooms are modern, clean, and very family-friendly, with plenty of space for strollers and toddler gear. The dining is excellent—Chef Mickey’s is perfect for kids to meet their favorite characters without waiting in long park lines, and California Grill offers an incredible dinner and fireworks view for adults. The pool and splash areas are great for little ones, and the resort shops carry all the essentials in case you forget something.

Just got back from a 4 day vacation. My husband and I are senior adults that took our granddaughters for some fun. The Contemporary was very nice accommodations. The walk to our room in the Garden Wing was very long. The only real complaint is the daily charge of $45 for valet parking service when the car was parked on day one and did not move until leaving. Kind of excessive in our thoughts.
