Five stars aren’t enough for Angelo’s poolside bingo!** 🌟 Angelo absolutely made our week at this resort! His bingo session poolside was hands-down one of the highlights of our entire stay. We were sipping spicy margaritas in the sun, and Angelo brought such an infectious, goofy energy that had everyone laughing and engaged. His fun, quirky personality turned what could have been just another activity into a genuinely memorable experience. Honestly, the entire staff here has been incredible - from the delicious food to those amazing spicy margaritas that keep the good times rolling - but Angelo deserves special recognition. He didn’t just call numbers; he created an atmosphere that perfectly captured what a resort vacation should feel like: relaxed, entertaining, and full of joy. If you’re staying here, don’t miss Angelo’s bingo. And Angelo, if you’re reading this - thank you for making our trip so special! You’re a rockstar! 🎉

Overall: 6-night stay (Dec 10–16). Non-Club. At 85% capacity. Having stayed at EPM in 2015/16, ERC feels well-run with great food and service, but the aging rooms and AC issues are a clear weak point compared to EPM a decade ago. ROOM (Jr Suite Pool View, 6129): The most disappointing aspect. Our view faced a neighboring apartment complex rather than the resort. At 20+ years old, the room shows wear: loose outlets, crooked shades, and non-working lights. The biggest issue is the AC; it cooled to 69°F but failed to dehumidify, leaving the room musty and sticky. Following advice from others, I requested a dehumidifier. The staff delivered one quickly, but I had to empty the tank 4x daily, and humidity never dropped below 65%. For a 5-star resort at $400+/night, this needs addressing. FOOD: Consistently "fine" to "excellent," though portions are smaller than remembered. Highlights: The Wednesday Mayan menu at Agave (by the Beloved chef) was superb. The Spice Teppanyaki experience was entertaining and very filling (book in advance!). Chez Isabelle’s filet, escargot, and 12-layer cake were standouts. Lowlights: Basmati was a favorite at EPM but was lower-tier here; the chicken samosas were dry/odd. Breakfast at The Kitchen Table was faster and more varied than Lobster House—the Nutella crepes are a must. DRINKS: Uniformly great with solid spirits like Appleton Estate and Beefeater. Try the Playa Blanca or Hemingway Mojito. Aroma’s iced coffee is delicious but sweet. GROUNDS & BEACH: The grounds are impeccably maintained—kudos to the maintenance staff constantly working on upkeep. The beach has powdery sand with no rocks/shells. Sargassum was well-managed during our stay with no smell. POOLS: We loved the lazy river by the spa; we never had an issue finding a palapa there. The "chair game" was prevalent at the main "party" pool. Temperatures were perfectly refreshing (approx. 79°F). STAFF & ENTERTAINMENT: Staff are warm, attentive, and excellent. Shows were fun—Pure Energy and the Claudia Trevino trio were highlights. Direct airport transfers via Seasons Transfers were seamless.

My husband and I returned “Home” to Excellence Riviera Cancun December 21-27th, to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and Christmas! As always, it did not disappoint and was exceptional! When we say “home”, we mean it! We have been returning to ERC for nearly 10 years and go twice a year. People always ask us why we go to the same place every time. It’s simple. The staff are our family. Not only do we love this beautiful and magical place, we truly return for the staff! We arrived around 11:00 am on Sunday, Dec 21st. We landed on the ground, through customs, and were greeted with champagne at ERC in less than 40 minutes. Upon arrival the check-in was easy-peasy! A huge thank you to Leylan, Guest Services Manager for puzzling us into our favorite room! We then ate, strolled, and greeted our favorite staff members! Room was ready at 3:00pm as promised! We received the Diamond Tier and Anniversary welcome gifts, etc! Again, Leylan is so kind and pays attention to the little things! We have been coming for many years, and though the menus have changed, all of our meals were amazingly delicious as always! This trip we enjoyed the Kitchen Table and Lobster House for breakfast. We had lunch at Los Olas one day, and other days we enjoyed the Sol Bar pizza and poolside snacks! For dinners we visited Spice twice, Agave, Chez, Flavor Market one night for apps, and followed with the Sports Bar. We are always impressed with dinner staff. This trip, the trio at Agave was exceptional! Our waiter-Avry, the manager-Edgar, and the chef made this meal one of our favorites ever! Since we have been coming for many years and we also return for relaxation, we sometimes turned in early for the main show. However, we will never miss our dear friend, Claudia Trevino and the boys. They are remarkable! Her voice is truly amazing! ERC held the big Christmas Eve party which was decorated fabulously with a big spread! The Christmas Day arrival of Santa was extraordinary! The night entertainment was nice. Every late afternoon and during the evening, we were always taken such great care of by Benjamin-night server. We spent a few nights at the Sports Bar. Pablo is a great bartender and Erika is one of our dearest friends and works so hard, we love her! Our days were spent sleeping in, Aroma for coffee, eat, swim, snack, swim, walk around, we love our chats with Mr. E (Eleuterio), night entertainment, sleep, repeat. During the day we were always served so well by our favorite long-time boys(that’s what we call them). Matilde, Antonio, Hugo, and we got to see Santos. The majority of that time we spent in the Lazy River. It’s our favorite. We had the best service by Jorge! He is one of our faves as well. One day we had I an, h too was lovely! Our bartenders this week were great. Joel, Lino, Osvaldo, Hugo, and many others did a fantastic job. The last day, we checked our luggage and spent the rest of the day, prior to shuttle, with our MOST FAVORITE and PRECIOUS HUGO S. We made sure to swim where he was working. Truly an angel and our mijo in MX. He always makes our trips the best! Thank you, Excellence Riviera Cancun for another remarkable vacation! See you soon!

This resort is amazing! The staff is 10/10, best experience we’ve ever had. Every person we encountered was absolutely amazing but a few specific shoutouts. Max is so fun! He is always entertaining and he has a great personality! My husband played volleyball with him for hours + They could not stop sharing laughs during the dance lessons! Angel-o is a TRIP! He is so kind, fun, and hilarious! He works so hard to ensure guests have the best time. We loved seeing him all around the resort. A jack of all trades for entertainment! Elizabeth is AMAZING! Her help was priceless for our wedding. She was so on top of everything. She made our experience feel personalized despite her busy schedule and made everything stress free. She listened and was right on top of things to ensure our expectations were met. I would highly recommend this resort for your destination wedding! The buffets (Mexican and Caribbean) at our wedding events were a huge hit also! Our guests loved the staff and were all so impressed with the services. So attentive to our every need. Any issues (few and far between) my guests had were resolved promptly. If you want a luxury experience, come here!

Let me begin by saying that we were not originally going there but due to the Jamaica hurricane we had to pivot 4 days before our trip began. The staff was incredibly accommodating and took care of us as soon as we reached out. The grounds are great because even when the hotel is pretty full there is still plenty of space at the beach and pool without feeling crowded. Cleanliness is outstanding and the service is by far the best I have experienced in an all inclusive. The food is amazing, plenty of options and really good quality. I will say if you like things more heavily seasoned you might have to ask for extra seasoning when you order. The area to swim in the ocean is a bit smaller than expected and sometimes depending on weather might have some seaweed. Although they do a great job at removing it often so it’s not unpleasant. I will say this resort is towards the south so the beaches do look different from the northern regions. Still amazing just something to keep in mind. As I mentioned before service was a amazing throughout but I do want to highlight some of the staff that made this trip exceptional: Gerardo: We attended a hibachi dinner and he was very funny and made the whole experience enjoyable Lesli: Was our hostess at lobster house, kitchen table and oregano. Always greeted us with a smile and gave us great recommendations for some afternoon snacks. Maricruz: She was our waiter for the mexico night and we chatted with her when we went to Basmati. Couldn’t have been more attentive and kind. Always making sure we were enjoying our experience to the maximum. Matilde: He was our beach waiter the whole trip. Honestly the best beach service I have ever had in an all inclusive. Great service and fantastic charisma. We couldn’t thank him enough for making this trip so fantastic. Mateo: He was at the omelette station for most of our breakfasts and oh my god!! The best omelettes ever!! Amazing charisma and service always with a warm smile! Maria: For our last night at the Grill was amazing for our anniversary dinner. She was very attentive, warm and also gave us a beautiful dessert surprise! She is amazing Overall the staff was incredibly warm, welcoming and kind. We felt like they were happy that we were there and that we were enjoying our time. Very grateful for all their work and great personalities
