We had wonderful vacation in Grand Bavaro princess. Really good food, nice resort, clean , staff is really friendly. Beach is amazing. It’s nothing to complain. We are planning to come back. We book platinum I was glad for this upgrade. We have our own buffet no line ups , separate beach bar with full service and pool . Rooms close to beach. We felt safe no any problems

Amazing hotel! Loved our stay! Modern, clean, spacious rooms with a great balcony. Green beautiful territory, looks like a tropical paradise. Beautiful clean beach. The main restaurant has the variety of food, something to offer for everyone. Everything was delicious. The menu of drinks has lots of different delicious cocktails. We also really liked the food trucks on the beach with a variety of snacks (you can also get drinks there). The territory is big so there are trains always ready to bring you around. Great choice of activities.

Absolutely beautiful resort, wonderful staff, nice pool, and AMAZING beach views. Our room was large and spacious, with housekeeping doing a great job when we needed it (leave them a tip)! We found the restaurant selection to be very nice and enjoyed all our meals. The breakfasts in the main resort were always delicious and well-stocked. The resort is filled with palm trees, wild animals, and is a true tropical paradise. And the beach views--WOW! This resort is about 30 mins from the airport, and easy to book/go on excursions. We couldn't have asked for a nicer location for our honeymoon!

I have quite the story to tell regarding the arrival and duration of my stay here. Keep in mind that I was traveling here internationally and arrived after a long flight and was quite exhausted upon arrival.
My arrival to the resort itself begins at the gated entrance of the resort. I was driving a rental purchased at the PUJ airport. The reservation for the room at the Grand Bavaro Princess was made by another person, who had put the name of the reservation in my name upon missing their flight to the DR. This person sent me the reservation number and PIN number. In which, I had provided to the security guard at the gate, who then let me into the premises. I then parked my car in the private lot and made my way to the reservation desk. I provided my information to the front desk, who then asked me for payment for the reservation. I was shocked that the person who I was supposed too be meeting there, who missed their flight, and had previously stated that the reservation was paid for, hadn't made any sort of payment to for the reservation. The front desk operator then asked me again for a total payment of $1,300.00 USD.
I understand that this isn't the resort's fault, but rather my own fault for putting my trust in the person who had told me that the stay had been paid for. Though, upon telling them that the stay should have already been paid for, they rejected the situation I was in completely and told me to exit the premises. They then escorted me off of the property via resort security, instead of letting me figure out how to produce a new payment (in need of contacting outside resources for a new reservation solely in my own name). I then was fatigued and dehydrated after an extensive amount of travel on the Dominican streets with multiple outsiders approaching me asking if I wanted any illicit drugs. Therefore, I made a quick dash to the closest hotel to rest in order to dodge the uncertain behaviors on the streets to have a quiet place to sort out my position with the resort. Shortly thereafter, I was able to make a new reservation with the resort. Luckily, some friends back home who became newly aware of my position were able to help send funds to afford the reservation stay. I then was allowed back on the premise after making payment online and was able to park my rental car and was shown to my newly reserved room safely.
I couldn't believe how the resort wouldn't take in consideration my misfortune and position I was previously in upon arrival and how they simply "kicked me to the curb".
As for my stay following this incident, there was much uncertainty that the resort welcomed Americans, in general, visiting the resort. I tipped beyond well, I was beyond courteous to the staff and was well mannered throughout my stay. Regardless, this did not seem enough for a majority of the staff.
As for my overall stay in the DR in Punta Cana, I simply felt unwanted and targeted along the premise of my complexion and for my presumed wealth for the duration of my stay. I had this same feeling after interacting with a majority of the staff at the resort.
As a forewarning, I recommend learning the native language (Spanish) thoroughly, and concealing your identity as an English speaking person as much as possible. I highly recommend traveling with a group instead of solo.
As well, please do make your own payment of reservation prior to arrival, and don't make the same mistake that I had with an untrustworthy "friend".
Though, as a professional resort being in contact with a foreigner that was needing to sort out a mishap in payment for a booked reservation, they should have never escorted me outside of the property.
Beware and travel safely.

Great location, just a short walk from the beach, and the staff is very responsive and helpful. + excursions easy to plan from this place. However, the restaurant quality is average across all non Platinum at least—don’t expect European-style dining. Also, we recommend avoiding ground-floor apartments due to cockroach issues.
