From the moment you arrive you know you are in a magical place. A glass of Prosecco upon arrival, exceptional front desk and a porter to take you and your bags to the room. Our accommodation was top notch, a living area leading onto a balcony overlooking one of the pools and a spacious bathroom. Breakfast offered a considerable choice and its location on the site next to pools was a lovely way t start the day. There are both daytime activities and evening entertainment. We did painting on one of the days and learned so much from the instructor, and the wine was an added bonus. Location wise you a close to a large number of high quality restaurants by the harbour. It is about a two kilometre walk to the main strip, which with the fine weather is a great excursion.

Lovely hotel, very spacious rooms and clean. We went for half board option. Breakfast buffet had quite a few good options. Dinner time on the other hand - not so much. I feel like there were not enough options. I’d rather eat your traditional food than fries and noodles etc. Desserts wise, lots of options but what you get is cream. Just different colour each time. Pool area needs refurbishing. No entertainment for kids, which for some can be a bonus 😉 Hotel is beautiful in general. Staff friendly.

Undoubtedly five star All the staff were very helpful throughout our stay. When the chef came to know we all are vegetarian, he arranged exclusive vegetarian meals for our group and it was served to us on the table (when others enjoyed the buffet) - exemplary. The rooms, views, appliances, air conditioner, the daily cleaning and toiletries, everything was above average quality. Worth remembering for a long time.

Just superb, we booked club room. Room was huge. Facilities are great we went to a few of the evening entertainments, the one in the church was especially good. Attracts nice quiet clientele in my view. Club rooms had so many extras, hadn’t realised it would include afternoon tea like a top London hotel, even though we booked bed and breakfast. Also a free help yourself bar in the evening.Also fluffy dressing gowns, slippers, nice toiletries from rituals. Loungers in club are were wooden with thick mattress, a swim up bar and 2 jacuzzi just for club rooms. Breakfast in club was superb too. Staff super helpful. We used 3 of the onsite restaurants all good. Location was great easy stroll through hotel to loads of restaurants and shops. Very very pretty.

Hotel is generally pleasant but requires restoration. It’s clearly old, phone is coming of the wall, paint peeing off, moving tiles, moving sockets, moving door handles. I booked club Volcan which means I had a room in separate area with no children, access to additional pool, separated breakfast area, afternoon tea and evening drink service. Good points: Location of the hotel Heated pool in club Volcan area with sun loungers facing see front, lovely view! Privacy in the bathroom. In many modern hotels bathrooms are exposed with glass doors. It’s not the case in Volcan. Bathroom is clearly separated. ———————— Bad points: Breakfast terrible - vegetables non existent, there was not ripen tomato and very old cucumber which tasted really sour. Poor choice, unless you want a yoghurt - for some strange reason there was large yoghurt choice. Cooked breakfast option (full English, omelette) very bland. Poor juice selection. There was just orange juice and some kind of smoothie. Afternoon tea - not edible! Old and dry sandwiches that looked like they were made a day before and left outside overnight. Very poor choice, everything with fish (or at least smelling like fish, hard to say). Dry scones. It was like that few days so I just stopped coming even if it was included in the price of my room. Restaurants - I was told there are few a la carte restaurants but unfortunately only one self service buffet was open. I don’t know why they advertise it as a hotel with multiple restaurants on site. The buffet was not a great quality, food not described, allergens unknown. I’ve had better food in 3 starts hotels. I wouldn’t recommend full board! Chairs don’t have any pads, I could hear all the time somebody above my room moving the chair like there were using it as an office chair. Made me restless almost every night. While I understand the hotel can’t control their guests, they could prevent the problem with some self adhesive padding (€1 for a large set of them so hardly an expense for a luxury hotel) Uncomfortable sun loungers outside of club Volcan area. If think in 5 star hotel padded loungers would be provided across all areas. Reception not very informative. I had to come back few times for information that should be in a welcome pack. There is no mobile app like in other hotels so reception visits were on daily basis. It’s not clear what’s included in my room, what’s not. Poor entertainment choice. Almost non existent. I was expecting a bit more from this type of place Poor choice of treatments in spa. I used it once only. There was not enough privacy in my opinion. No fence between hotel ground and public path, everybody can just walk in. Not enough light at night, paths are just dangerous to walk on. I almost sprained my ankle on cobble stones. Room needs proper maintenance. Lock on the toilet just fell off, if it had happened while being inside, I wouldn’t have been able to leave without breaking the door. It was a lucky escape! Lamps and sockets falling off the wall, Ants in the room, not that I’m bothered, just an observation. Better ants than other critters… ————— Summary: Good location but please start serving better food and update the rooms if you want to be luxury 5 star hotel. The quality is just appalling at the moment! Right now I wouldn’t even say it’s a 4star hotel. More like 3+. But you definitely have a potential if you change few things.
