This resort is absolutely incredible!! The best we’ve ever stayed at hands down! The rooms are impeccably clean and smell so fresh. The food is phenomenal. The personnel go out of their way to make sure you have an amazing stay. The beach is clean and beautiful. We are planning to be back :)

The charm of this place is defined in the quality of employees and how much the employees enjoy their job here. Me and my husband took a 4 day stay here for our first time in Cancun, we were unsure as what to expect after doing weeks of research but were very happy to have made the best decision. The rooms were clean, service was excellent. It’s cozy and comfortable. The floors are slippery so be careful and watch your step. It’s a relaxing stay, if you’d like to be out and explore, I’d recommend maybe Xcaret, but this resort is great!

We loved everything about our stay at this resort! The staff at this resort go above and beyond to show hospitality to all of the guests. We loved all of the food we ate at the resort! There are numerous activities and shows in the evening to entertain guests.

We came here for our honeymoon. We travelled 16 hours and were exhausted. We were immediately bombarded by staff to get sold on different resorts and memberships. We just wanted to get to our room and relax but even that just took an hour due to being pestered with sales pitches. That pissed us off. The room was beautiful, clean, and had great access to the ocean w/o much seaweed with open cabanas. The spa was fantastic. Those were the only positives. Service was a bit slow but staff was friendly. The food was the worst part. It was not fresh and not very good. It was like it had been sitting out for a while. There were only 1 or 2 decent dishes out of the whole resort. Not many options. I expect fresh fruit at a tropical place but they did not have many fruit options or FRESH fruit. Here's where it went downhill and ruined our honeymoon. We ended up getting the worst parasitic infection (Giardia) we've ever had which lasted 5 weeks! I'm certain we got it from the food there. We have stayed at many different resorts in Mexico before and have never gotten ill from their food/"filtered" water. I'm extremely upset that this is how we will remember our honeymoon. Other guests we've spoken with also experienced the same problem. We are also Unlimited Vacation Members and we did not get any benefits or upgrades. Unless you want a vacation filled with parasites and bad food, I wouldn't recommend...

I recently planned a January stay at Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya, excited to use my well-earned suite upgrade as a loyal World of Hyatt member. After reserving my room, I promptly requested the upgrade. However, five days later, my request remained in limbo, with the World of Hyatt help desk stating they were waiting for a response from the hotel itself. This was a last-minute reservation for a busy time of year, and I searched through four months of availability to find this space on points. Given the delay, I can’t help but wonder if the hotel is hoping for cash-paying guests rather than honoring award certificates. I could be wrong, but it does make you question Hyatt’s commitment to loyal members.
Ultimately, the lack of communication from Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya led me to cancel my reservation. Loyalty is a two-way street, and when a brand fails to honor even basic requests for earned benefits, it’s a clear signal to rethink future bookings.
