In Bangkok. The famous Afternoon Tea in one of the world’s most iconic hotels was an expensive, but desirable retro experience like the Orient Express.
The tea service was a beautiful presentation of sweet and savory finger food with an exotic selection of English and Asian teas. It was enjoyed in the quietly luxurious Authors’ Lounge where historically famous guests sipped tea with scones in the early 1900s.
The polished and well-coiffured servers were outstanding, serving with grace and style. A culinary indulgence, the Afternoon Tea with a long and colorful history should be any Bangkok visitor’s highlight. Prior reservation would be necessary.

Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is truly the best hotel ever! Its prime location in the heart of the city makes everything incredibly convenient. The service is impeccable, especially in the restaurant, where every dish was a masterpiece—phenomenal food, unforgettable dining. One of my favorite parts was the little boat ride across the river to their serene spa, a perfect escape. Across the river, you’ll find a fantastic shopping center, so everything is within reach.

An Exquisite Afternoon Tea Experience
I visited for afternoon tea, and from the moment I arrived, I knew this was the place I had been missing. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, creating an experience that felt truly special.
The service was impeccable, with the staff showing both elegance and warmth in their style and manners. The presentation of the food was as delightful as the taste itself—everything was done to perfection. I enjoyed every moment and would be absolutely thrilled to return.
After tea, we spent some time in the main lobby, listening to classical music, which added the perfect touch to an already delightful afternoon. If you’re looking for a refined and relaxing experience, this is the place to be!

Wonderful holiday at Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. As Thailand's oldest hotel, this gem along the Chao Phraya River radiates elegance and charm. The architecture is stunning, combining traditional sophistication with modern comforts.
From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality that made me feel right at home. The attention to detail throughout the hotel is remarkable, whether in the beautifully appointed rooms or the exquisite dining options.
Every moment spent here was unforgettable, and the serene atmosphere added to the overall experience. Highly recommend!

The last time I was here was 35 years ago and there has been some changes. But the hospitality service is still on a top level for Bangkok. I enjoyed a delicious Black Forest cake and hot choco. The cake was pure art and a fest for my taste buds. A bit a pity the bakery is in the lobby and that you can not sit riverside in a garden. Highly recommend!
