So Bangkok Hotel

We stayed in a wood themed SO Studio for four nights in Feb. The hotel decor is stunning, from the new lobby to our room. Our room was huge, beautifully decorated and in flawless shape. Access to the SO Club Room was included and we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast there each morning. We also used the hotel car service to/from the airport and highly recommend it. Staff were great as was the location. So why only four stars instead of five? Two issues dampened our stay and have been highlighted in other reviews. The first was the totally inadequate lighting in our room. It was impossible to read in bed and the lack of lighting in the bathroom made it almost impossible to shave or perform other grooming tasks. The second was the pool. The pool and deck were physically stunning with views over the park, comfortable chaise lounges, great bar and food service. And yes, there is construction going on next door but that is out of the hotel’s control and I could tune it out. But, the water temp was frigid. No one stayed in the pool after their initial plunge, it was that cold. We were vacationing and escaping the North American winter and were looking forward to pool time after touring but the temp of the water ruined the experience for us. So much so that we would look elsewhere to stay on our next Bangkok visit.

Staff were excellent all round! Had drinks at the hotel bar Floor/9 (unfortunately rooftop bar was closed on the day of my visit) and supervisor Art along with Eye, Pond and Nick were all superb. Friendly, wonderful cocktails and attentive. Reception and engineering also did their best with fixing a TV malfunction which was very much appreciated. Rooms slightly tired. But otherwise a superb stay.

My family stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. And we were very satisfied. Breakfast, the view of the room and swimming pool were nice. But what we were most satisfied with was the employees of this hotel. Every employee was so nice, and especially an employee named 'New' was so kind and sweet. We would love to visit again!

Great stay 😃 We recently stayed at the So Bangkok and had a wonderful experience overall. When we first checked in, we were a bit disappointed with the room we were assigned. It looked a little tired, with scratches on the furniture and some wear-and-tear visible. However, we decided to kindly ask for a room change, and the staff was incredibly accommodating. Teddy at the front desk was especially helpful and professional, and we were soon moved to a room on a higher floor that was in much better condition – it was clean, modern, and very comfortable. Throughout our stay, we encountered friendly and attentive staff who went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant experience. The service was top-notch, and it really made a difference in our stay. The pool, however, was a bit cold for our liking, but that was a minor issue considering everything else was fantastic. All in all, we had a great time at the So Bangkok and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a stylish, well-located hotel with exceptional service. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
