We had a wonderful experience at the Riviera Restaurant Ramon was an exceptional waiter that was attempted to our needs always giving us drinks and looking after everything that we needed Tracy was a delight to deal with and very hospitable, she was eager to help and accolades us with currency exchange. Jesus is super cute and was also very good with his service. Would absolutely recommend this as a vacation for family or for single people. The spa is exceptional. Had the tropical relaxing massage with Miguellina and definitely recommend her. Very therapeutic and delightful. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience

The property is beautiful with immaculate gardens and mangroves. We spent most of our days relaxing at the Level pool, the spa and beach. The property was very clean and the staff were friendly and professional. The upgrade to the Level was definitely worth it. A special thank you to our concierge Lorenzo Perez, who was always available to answer our questions and help when we needed it. He also arranged our dinner reservations so that we had a nice variety. The staff from the Riviera restaurant are the best. A huge thank you to Roman Gonzales, Tracey, Nathanael and Yohana Joseph who were so welcoming and went over and above with their service. Also, Juan Gonzalez at the Hacienda Mexican restaurant was wonderful and went out of his way to make us feel special. All in all it was an amazing vacation and we would definitely return.

I visited over the new years with my family and we generally enjoyed our stay. I thought most of the staff were very friendly and the resort was nice to walk around, some of the highlights for us were the beach, waterpark and massive pool. The reason for only 3 stars is there are quite a few things that need to be improved in my opinion. The systems in place for making a reservation for a restaurant, being seated at the buffet, getting your beach towel, and also finding a chair at the beach (which is near impossible unless you wake up at 7am to put your towel on a chair to leave it there all day) need major improvement. Only one day of the week to book reservations for a whole week and of course only ONE person taking the reservations for a massive line of people. The buffet looks really nice but unfortunately nothing is kept hot. A family member did get food poisoning and was in the hospital for half of their stay so that was obviously very upsetting. I think this could have been avoided by having higher food safety standards, and would be greatly appreciated by future guests. Serving food HOT would be a great start. Steam tables work great for that.

23Dec-28Dec2014. The signage and maps leave a lot to be desired. The maps are difficult to follow. I didn't receive the proper towels until my last day. Each day, 2 sets of large body towels were placed, instead of both small/ face towels and large towels. Housekeeping, even through translation, still couldn't get it right. The food at the buffets weren't the greatest, but it was all you had. The beach food (hamburgers) were good. The steak restaurant was terrible; from the service to the food. The steak was over cooked and the service continued to bring the wrong items. The best restaurant, on our second visit, was the Italian restaurant. After finally dining at a restaurant that served hot food and great service, we were convinced that our first experience at this restaurant was an off night. Back to the rooms: Each American TV show had some distortion on the screen. Take a water to brush your teeth. There are so nice places with great scenery on the property, but this is not a place I will come back to.

The place itself is beautiful. They keep the grounds beautiful, they maintain it very nice. It has beautiful views. That's about where it ended for us. If you don't get there on a certain day. By a certain time, you will not be able to eat at any of the restaurants except the buffet. Because every Monday you are allowed to go to the concierge and make your reservations for the entire week. So if you're not online early Monday morning to make your reservations for the week, you will not be able to eat at any of the restaurants. Needless to say, we were turned away to eat at an all inclusive resort and only had to eat at the buffet, because that was the only place we were allowed. They also had levels, which we were not told, and the level we were on only got bottom shelf liquor.
We could not get any name brand liquor. They had no room for us upon our arrival and made three of us sleep in a one bed room. The food also had no taste. They don't believe in salt and pepper, and the only condiments they use is ketchup. And Mayo. There are also no designated areas for people to smoke. So they are smoking all over the grounds, and there are children everywhere. It is a very kid, friendly place.
