First time staying at this resort and I really enjoyed it. Upon checking in, I was asked if I wanted to upgrade for a reasonable rate; my new room was ocean front with a spectacular view. Plenty of chairs at the pool and beach to chose from. Food and drinks were good. The staff was absolutely fantastic; always asking if I needed anything, including shuttling between lobbies. I highly recommend.

There is no way to describe this experience other than amazing. The food was amazing, hotel was insane, the all you can eat buffets were delicious and convenient, and the restaurants had individual experiences. Especially the circus one, that may have been the best I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I would 900% recommend this trip for families and alone. Definitely get the membership, it will be worth it in the long run. Their accommodation is great. Check in was awesome, the gave little moist towels and free cucumber honey water which tastes delicious. The whole hotel looks elegant, and they have a gaming area for teens and a kid area to check your kid into the place to let them play games, bumper cars, movies, and more! Water park was also very fun! I think the best part was the food experience since they all have a unique setting and gimmick! The travel was easy with shuttles around the resort and the other 2 resorts. I personally think it’s the best place for a vacation, no doubt about it! They have a photography service where they take photos for an amazing vacation photo! The room keys are very convenient as it’s a wristband you wear.
The views are amazing and just breathtaking from some of these hotel rooms, and they have ice dispensers and a mini bar to your convenience! Overall, one of the best trips I have EVER been on

I’m writing this review while the disappointment is still fresh in my mind and I will point out that my husband and I are “members” not beneficiaries or “guests of”. We have paid for a level of service that we did not get this time around.
1) check in line was way too long. Takes about 30 minutes for each group. Think about that when you’re traveling with kids.
2) did I say check in lines are so long - good luck getting a cot because you need to do that with the front desk and when we arrived, there were 50+ People in line.
3) they will Rope Off sections at shows and say it’s for “diamond members.” they are supposed to open them up, but I sat on a concrete step for the whole fire show one night, nothing was opened and I watched a show with empty seats in front of me. **remember, I am a valued member.
4) I responded to a survey they sent me during my stay. Shared all my issues, they said they would give me a $100 room credit and no one knows where it is 🤷🏽♀️
5) guess what - there was a private event outside my room. “Power Quest” I love a good industry event but I’m not here for that. They get to play music until 10:30pm. I stayed here because it’s kid friendly I’ve got 3 kids under 8 👎 I called guest services and they don’t notify you of special events and really didn’t care that I was upset.
6) my room - if you love centipedes…stay in a garden room. If you want the AC to go out in the middle of the night….all you!!!
7) I tried to buy day passes the other day to the grand. They sent me to three different desks to buy them. My 3 kids loved that….
I’m beyond irritated with the workings of the resort and what they believe is appropriate but they still want to “update” me and pitch me on gaining a higher level membership.
MAYBE MY IDEA OF LUXURY IS CHANGING OR MAYBE THEIR STANDARDS ARE SLIPPING. YOU CAN DECIDE FOR YOURSELF IF YOURE UP TO IT.

We decided to spend Thanksgiving at Moon Palace - Sunrise this year for a change of scenery. The area is decent, some of the food is good, the service is good most of the time although room service and some of the other services are a bit slow. Overall, we found the staff to be pleasant. Also our first experience at an all inclusive, which was exciting.
The building and grounds are "average." They're outdated but generally clean except the hot tubs which had footprints and (what looked like) fungus on the bed of the tub. The second day of our stay, the power in our room went out and we couldn't finish getting ready. Just our room, not the rest of the property.
We received $500 in resort credits and were excited to use them at the spa. To use the spa, you have to book via the app, which we attempted to do a few days in advance. You "submit an inquiry" and then someone either calls or messages you to confirm. It took quite a while for someone to follow up on our inquiry, then the agent allowed us TEN MINUTES to respond/confirm before closing out the request. So, we lost the chance to book. We tried numerous times and the spa was completely booked thereafter. While our friends enjoyed the spa, we were stuck sitting in the pool waiting on them. Tried to book a tour, and once the agent confirmed the tour, the agent followed up to apologize and let us know the tour was fully booked. I feel like we had one disappointment after another, so we've nearly written off visiting any Moon Palace properties at this point.
Our stay wasn't bad. But it wasn't great. I feel there are many other options to consider with potential to deliver better experiences for the cost. I am so sad we didn't get the chance to experience the full set of amenities and experiences.

Overall the resort is an average one if you compare with other luxury kid-friendly resorts like Nickelodeon. The staff is just interested in selling timeshare. If you are not for it, they are not interested in helping you. They just want to sell activities and ignore all other questions. The resort location is beautiful and it's a huge resort. The resort's best activities are located in the grand, where you have to pay for a day pass. Most of the good restaurants need a reservation 24 hours prior. Imagine more than people with more than 2k rooms! The resort is huge and transport is super slow so don't expect to be able to cover a lot of activities but you can surely have a good time. You would have to ask for things like drinks/etc.
It's a good deal if you get their 70% off offer from some family/friends. But cheaper always means compromise on quality.
