First time in Punta Cana. The service is outstanding. The staff are plentiful and extremely nice and accommodating. The breakfast and lunch buffet had so many excellent choices. You cannot help yourself to many of the the hot dishes, its all under glass and many items are cooked right in front of you. The selection is amazing. The food was delicious.
Great selection of in-dinning restaurants as well.
The entire property both inside and out is spotless.
I just can not find any more superlatives to describe the castle ocean suite and this property. Our butler Emilio was over the top helpful and friendly. You will love this property. It checks all the boxes.

Sanctuary Cap Cana was a fantastic experience! The service was truly exemplary, with staff going above and beyond to make our stay special. The grounds and setting were absolutely beautiful—well-maintained, peaceful, and offering the perfect mix of relaxation and fun. If you’re looking for quiet, you can find it, but the main pool area also had plenty of energy with fun activities. Best of all, no long lines, which made everything feel more exclusive and enjoyable.
The food was another highlight, with a nice variety of restaurants to choose from. A great bonus was Sanctuary Town just across the street, offering even more dining options for extra variety. Our room itself was pretty average, but the gorgeous view made up for it. The beach wasn’t large, but it was private and peaceful, which we really appreciated.
Overall, Sanctuary Cap Cana delivers a luxurious and well-rounded experience—great service, beautiful surroundings, delicious food, and the perfect balance of relaxation and entertainment!

Stayed here for 1 week in January 2025. The resort is adults only and relatively small which yields a more relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. The architecture of the resort buildings adds to the atmosphere. There were always places to sit and relax and take in the ocean views. The rooms also were nice, with even the most basic rooms having ocean views and balcony. The food at the sit down restaurants was pretty good (there are 2 that do not require a reservation and 2 that do require a reservation). The food at the buffet was not good, but the other restaurants made up for it. The beach is very small and the water is not great, there is a significant amount of seaweed in the water which makes swimming or walking in the water unpleasant. There is a bigger beach adjacent to the resort that is a combination of a public beach and beaches for other neighboring resorts which is nice to walk on, but also has significant amount of seaweed in the water. Sanctuary's pools are nice and we did most of our swimming in the pools. Since the resort is on the east side of the island, there are great sunrise views over the ocean. Overall because of the small size of the resort, the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing; however, there were not as many activities/things to do as the other resorts.

I’m just getting around to writing this review although I stayed here in September for my baby moon, but I cannot recommend this place enough. The location is beautiful, and it is everything you could hope for if you’re looking for R&R. I loved that this wasn’t a party scene of a resort, but you could still unwind and have a great time. The food and service were also excellent, which honestly caught me by surprise for an all-inclusive stay. Special thanks goes out to Happy Boy and Omar in the pool/beach zone. Omar was especially kind and provided excellent(!!) service while we lounged. The director of events (I forget his name, but he was there overlooking water aerobics and the cigar class) also was great, ensuring everyone had fun while participating. All in all, great service and beautiful location.

I recently stayed at this resort for my sister's wedding, and I have to say, it was an incredibly disappointing and distressing experience, especially considering the resort's five-star status and the hefty price tag for our stay. Unfortunately, what should have been a joyful occasion turned into a nightmare due to a serious breach of trust by the staff.
Multiple guests at the wedding had cash stolen from their rooms—four in total, with three of those incidents happening on the same day. The room who experienced the biggest loss, had a total of $3,200 stolen from three guests who were staying together. We still don’t understand why housekeeping was necessary, seeing as the room had just been given to them. They explained that they have a turn down service in the afternoon, for all. However, there was absolutely no need and this was not explained at check in. The fact that this happened so quickly after check-in, when most guests were rushing to make it to the welcome party, raises serious concerns about the integrity of the staff.
What made matters worse was the complete lack of support from the security team. They were not only insensitive but utterly unhelpful. After hours of waiting, the groom, on his wedding day no less, had to chase down security, only to be told that he didn’t “need to see the cameras.” The expected immediate follow up, after the report to security, never came. The day before check out, we had the police come and a report was filed, however, the administration continued to state that we would have to wait for an investigation, which still remains unclear. Seeing as they have access to security cameras and door key cards and their usage.
This left the victims of the theft, who were already stressed about the money, unable to truly relax during their stay. They spent their entire time at the resort worrying whether the money would be returned, all while the bride and groom were forced to turn their wedding weekend into an investigation.
It’s not just the theft that was upsetting—it was the complete lack of accountability or empathy from the resort. The management showed no interest in making things right. In fact, despite the guests losing thousands of dollars and feeling completely violated, the resort refused to acknowledge the severity of the situation or the responsibility, going as far as implying that they had no proof that the money was there, as if any of us would dampen my sisters wedding weekend, with this embarrassment. My sister and her now husband brought in over $150,000 to this resort, including their wedding festivities and the costs of their guest stays, and for them to refuse to take any accountability for this violation, was simply unheard of in customer service.
To top it off, when we began researching reviews after the fact, we discovered that we weren’t alone—other guests had reported similar thefts in the past. I honestly wish we had done our homework beforehand. No amount of luxury or five-star amenities can make up for such a humiliating and upsetting experience. This resort may claim that "this doesn't happen here," but it most certainly did—more than once. If you’re considering this resort, be aware that your safety and well-being may not be a priority, and if something goes wrong, you won’t be treated with the care or respect you deserve. You certainly will not be redeemed if money is stolen.
Lastly, it is a shame that I have to write this review, because my sisters wedding was beautiful—the resort was beautiful, the food was good, however, the customer service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. It is even more unfortunate that our entire party (71 of us!) felt that we were perceived as inferior to other guests staying at this hotel… but I won’t even get into that element of concern. If you choose this hotel, and I don’t blame anyone who does, keep your valuables very close and do not carry a lot of cash.
