The accommodations are exceptional, and the Preferred Club upgrade is highly recommended, offering enhanced views, higher-level rooms, and butler service, which can vary in quality. Our experience with Bruce, our butler, was outstanding. However, other butler services were less satisfactory. It is advisable to dine in the restaurants rather than utilizing room service, as order accuracy and delivery times were frequently problematic. Although the food quality is good, the restaurant reservation process may be misleading. We were initially quoted $50 USD for a bottle of wine, but the final bill was $150 USD. The restaurant service was also inconsistent; for example, steak knives were delayed, resulting in cold food. The on-site bartenders were consistently friendly and engaging. We were informed of a $200 credit two days into our stay, which was not communicated at the time of booking, impacting our excursion planning. Word of advice is recommended that you just head down to the preferred club floor to get your own drink as depending on which butler you have.Sometimes it may take two hours just to receive a drink.

Overall, not a terrible trip, but definitely not memorable for the right reasons. The Good: Booked through Costco — airport transportation was smooth and on time. Our butler was friendly, helpful, and never pushy. The Not-So-Great: The lobby had a strong sewer smell on arrival. Check-in staff was polite but visibly sick and coughing, then immediately tried to upsell spa packages. Limited food options between lunch and dinner. Pool area had loud, drunk guests blasting music. Dining: Dinner at the Italian restaurant started fine — they asked if we were celebrating anything and offered free lobster with a view for a birthday. The catch: we had to buy a bottle of wine costing over $200 USD. The lobster was decent, but my steak was bland. Unfortunately, this kind of upsell experience was common throughout the resort. Other Issues: By the second morning, I received multiple WhatsApp messages from BD Experience pushing excursions, followed by a call from “VIP Services” about a $200 hotel credit — which turned out to be another sales pitch. It felt like everyone was trying to sell us something. Entertainment was okay, though mostly at night and often overrun by drunk guests. A great blues band performance was spoiled by a group ringing a bell on their Casa Azul bottle like they were part of the show. At one point, someone even left a used smoking pipe and weed ashes on a chair outside the lobby — not something you want to sit next to. There’s more I could mention, but that sums it up: nice staff and convenient booking, but too many upsells, poor atmosphere, and little attention to guest experience.

The service at this hotel is incredible! We stayed in the Preferred Junior Suite, and it was absolutely worth it for all the extra perks. As preferred guests, we had access to a private lounge, a dedicated pool on the 12th floor, the exclusive Olio Mediterranean restaurant, and even our own floor concierge — which made the whole experience feel so personalized. I have to give a special shoutout to Mauricio, our concierge. He went above and beyond to make our trip extra special — always available to answer questions and help with anything we needed. When my husband got sick during our stay, Mauricio checked in on us multiple times and offered assistance, which was so thoughtful and reassuring. If you can, definitely request him — you won’t be disappointed. The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning views and plenty to do. There are daily activities, several bars, six restaurants plus a poolside snack grill, and even a 24-hour café. One touch that truly stood out was their bedtime turndown service — something I’ve only experienced before at the Fairmont, and it made our stay feel even more luxurious. We had such a wonderful time here and are already planning to come back. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious vacation experience.

Unfortunately it is our last night here and the two managers we spoke to did nothing to compensate for our troubles. Our first night here we had to change rooms at 1AM because the air conditioner broke (confirmed by maintenance) and I’m 7 months pregnant. I could not sleep and the manager didn’t want to change our room until we went downstairs to the lobby and they saw I am pregnant. Second night we changed rooms again because our neighbor was blasting music at 11PM and then came banging on our door for a iPhone charger. We felt unsafe and requested to change rooms especially after the man screamed (naked by the way) at my husband on the balcony. So we switched rooms again at midnight. Our butler gave us a beach bag after we asked for one to lighten up the trip a bit but other than that, the managers did nothing. The manager offered hydrotherapy which I cannot do (the spa said pregnant women cannot participate in hydrotherapy). We asked for a private romantic dinner to make up for the troubles and all the manager did was make reservations for us at Dragons which reservations are not even needed as there is never a wait. Other than that, the food was good, sometimes cold but still good and the rest of the staff are very kind. Beach is beautiful. We paid a lot for preferred club and just felt like our trip was a bit spoiled due to do the first couple nights as first impressions are everything. I’m very pregnant and had to unpack and repack to 3 different rooms. Not sure if we will be back. Edit: It is our last night and we cannot sleep once again it is now 3:30AM. We can hear the neighbor’s TV since 7PM and thought it would eventually go away. It has not and we can hear constant muffling sounds from their TV. This is not the place to go for a baby moon. With minimal sleep due to all the troubles since we got here, I am very sad and disappointed in this trip. It was supposed to be a relaxing getaway before the baby gets here and I have never missed home so much. If you like to drink then maybe this is the place for you since you can get drunk and sleep past all the noise but for a couple that does not drink I would avoid. The guests here ruin the resort.

Stayed here in July. Rarely pay for preferred, but this time I did and I found it to be well worth it. Even after paying the overall cost plus the upgrade for the week it was still reasonable. The preferred 12th floor pool was very relaxing and also gave access to the 21st floor and 12th floor bars which served Don Julio, Patron, and 1800 tequilas, as well as high end vodkas and scotches. The high floors also offer some fun views as well as large high ceilinged rooms. The steakhouse served some of the better steaks I've had at an all inclusive and overall the food was decent. The service was solid. Entertainment at night was also good and went fairly deep into the evening. When the seaweed isn't bad the beach is still one of the best in Mexico. Only downside was the lack of a swim up bar if you are into that sort of thing.
