We just wrapped up a five-day stay at Secrets The Vine with our adult children, and let me tell you — it was one of those rare vacations where we couldn’t find anything to complain about. I mean, I can usually find faults -especially at hotels. The resort exceeded our expectations.
As for the rooms. We were honestly expecting to find something off — maybe a squeaky bed or a wonky air conditioner. But nope, everything was good. The beds were comfortable, the room service was prompt and always as promised, and the balcony offered views and comfortable furniture. Oh, and let’s not forget the turn-down service — because who doesn’t love a little chocolate and a perfectly fluffed pillow before bed?
The food choices were excellent — no complaints there. Whether we were grabbing a quick bite by the pool or enjoying a more formal dinner, everything was delicious and varied enough to satisfy even our pickiest eater. The wait times were not obnoxious and the need to get on line to make a resy was not necessary .For all meals, the service and quality was very good and of course, or the endless flow of drinks. The buffets too were very good.
The pool and beach area are also as advertised. We spent hours soaking up the sun. Getting your towel down early was necessary but it seems to be par for the course all over now. Comfortable chairs, plenty of space, and of course the service was always nearby
The entertainment team made sure we were laughing, dancing, and forgetting what time it was whether at the pool or in other parts of the resort. The fitness center was adequate and clean. The spa which my wife and daughters used said it was enjoyable.
Long story short, we didn’t have to fake any complaints here. Everything was on point, and we were genuinely sad to leave. Would we return? Absolutely. Secrets The Vine, delivered as advertised.

This resort has been beautifully designed but what really makes the resort stand out to others are the amazing staff. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. This is the second time I have visited Secrets and it was even better than the last. The food was amazing as well as the service. There was also plenty of entertainment from morning till night. Some of my favorite activities were the music trivia, volleyball, tequila lesson and tasting, dance lessons and the opera singer at t2he wine bar.
Staff that took the extra step to make my experience extra special were Pedro from the entertainment crew, Roberto, Jose and Claudia from the outdoor bars, servers Jose and Angel, and the wine bar tender with the light eyes (I forget his name). One person we did not see that made our trip extra special last time we visited in April was Antonio from the 24 hr Cafe. I hope to see him at the next time we visit...
I highly recommend checking this place out if you want a fun but also relaxing vacation experience!2

Rooms and staff were great. Pools closed at 6pm...need more entertainment other than piano bar. At least some more board games and cards in main lobby. Food is pretty good. App sucks for info. Use the TV in room if you want actual times for events. Overall a nice place to be if you just want to lay by the water, not much else to do there.

The staff go out of their way to make things special. We had a club level room and our concierge Sandra was amazing! She even had the executive chef make a special dish for me that I had mentioned that was my favorite. Arturo and Angel made our stay in the cabana wonderful! A very relaxing stay with lovely staff throughout.
It was very hard to get pool chairs so we got a cabana. Also it's a pretty small resort so not a ton of activities. Just chilling by the pool or playing in the surf, which is strong. We were there for 4 days which was a good amount of time. The food was quite good but not amazing. Lots of nice pastries and baked treats in the coffee shop. The frozen drinks were good at one bar and bad at another. I don't know if this is a true 5 star resort but it was very enjoyable and we felt well taken care of.

We know that when you leave the hotel, you're often faced with scams and hidden fees, and unfortunately, Secret the Vine is no different.
ALERT: The lock on our hotel room door stopped working, and the door wouldn’t lock. We’re unsure how long it had been unlocked, but thankfully, our belongings were safe. Our room phone line was broken and it took them 3 days to come check out the line.
Hotel: The room doors, bathroom mirror, and corners of the bathroom were all in poor condition. When it started to rain, water leaked into the hotel.
Service: It's clear that the staff doesn’t want to be there; they only show generosity and smile when tipped. However, they seem unhappy with small tips. Staff in general were` rude and unwelcoming to big groups.
- A couple seated next to our table spent extra money on wine, and as a result, they turned on the AC just for their corner.
Lobby: It seemed like they deliberately turned off the AC in the lobby, as if they didn't want people relaxing there. The lobby was unbearably hot, with the temperature at 30°C, and to make it worse, they also turned on the fireplace.
Room: The room was very disappointing; the reality was a complete contrast to what I saw in the Google photos. The cleanliness was poor— they didn't clean the floor, restock the water or drinks in the fridge, and failed to remove the dirty towels.
All inclusive deal: Even though this is an all-inclusive hotel, the staff seems unhappy if you drink or eat too much. While we were at Market Cafe with 10 friends, enjoying drinks and food, the manager became upset and stood beside us, glaring to make us feel unwelcome.
The hotel offers a $200 coupon, but you can't use it without spending money first. For example, the spa costs $249, and you're only allowed to apply a $40 coupon, or for a romantic dinner priced at $280, you can use a $60 coupon. While they market it as VIP service, you still have to spend upfront to take advantage of it.
Overall, this was the worst experience I've ever had. Secret the Vine ruined what was supposed to be an exciting trip with friends, leaving us all disappointed as we left Cancun with no desire to return.
