We had a good stay, our room was nice and clean. We really enjoyed the nice beach (good for snorkeling too), the pool, the breakfast and the outdoor shower.
Check-in was great, we felt very welcome.
If you want to explore the island, you will need a car, as the SO Sofitel is far from everything.
The only downside, which has impacted our stay was the late checkout handling. Our flight departed late, so I asked for a late checkout beforehand via email. I was told to ask again during our stay. However, during out stay I was told that they can only tell me if it’s possible on my last day. This is way too late. And then, it was denied. So I had to ask them again, have had a discussion, then we could finally get a late checkout. But, surprisingly, we had to change the room on the day of departure. I found this very stressful, especially as we also paid for the late c/o. This handling needs improvement.
Also, during the room move, one of our suitcases fell off their buggy, resulting in many scratches. Not nice.

Honestly, it was not a pleasant experience. The facilities need to be renovated to be at the level of a 5 star hotel. There are a lot of old, broken and deficient things.
Having to rely on a buggy to go to the parking lot makes it quite uncomfortable.
Breakfast is pretty good, although only if you eat it there, if you order it to take away things change radically.
As for the weather in the area, it is the worst on the island, usually bad weather (very windy and cloudy).
There are details that make a difference, and to be charged 2 dollars for a coffee capsule is barbaric.
Of all the SO's I know, it is the worst without a doubt.
Summary: I would have to improve a lot and change that kind of details to choose this hotel again, although in the weather aspect they can't do anything.

Had a wonderful stay at So Sofitel! The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, always ready to assist with a smile. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, making for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great service and a cozy stay!

This place is an absolute paradise. We spent a lovely weekend there. Customer service was excellent. The staffs were very friendly and they made sure our stay was comfortable. Food was amazing. The room was beautiful, spacious and all necessary amenities were provided. Thank you for the complimentary birthday cake and for making our stay a wonderful one. 🥰😊

Have been to many 5-star hotels but this hotel has been far from a 5-star experience. To start with, the lady at the reception kept talking to us in Creole while we were talking in French. But in general, the hotel staff members were kind. The Room seemed nice at first glance when we were met with rusty doors and snails 🐌 in our outside bathtub. The breakfast was quite nice with a good variety of food and beverages. However, dinner was quite average and not fit for a 5-star hotel. There are not many activities to do at the hotel apart from the spa and tennis. Also, the spa is so far away that we needed to take a buggy to get there and come back. This is not to criticize but for you to see our disappointing experience. Also please inform your staff if someone is talking in French repeatedly to not reply in Creole.
