This is a great hotel, but…
Although the location is great with long arching views up cheweng beach; a fab infinity pool; large rooms…
We found the back rooms/the ones furthered from the beach suffered a lot from traffic noise. The main road passes immediately to the rear of these.
Also. No hot water. Never. Which is odd for a 4 star hotel.
Good food. Lovely service. And fabulous outlook.

The hotel is beautiful and the view around this place is amazing! You have an infinity pool with the view of the sea, the breakfast spot is amazing with the view.
However since this serene place is a little away from the city you might have to rent a cab or a two wheeler or walk quite a bit to get somewhere. The spot right opposite to the hotel has some 2 wheelers to rent however a complete scam, would not recommend buying or renting anything from them.
The hotel staff could definitely be more helpful in terms of guiding or taking special requests but no such help to us was provided.
The rooms are indeed beautiful and well built however the jacuzzi sometimes does not work properly or get hot water. I feel the service quality internally is a little sad.
Also, I found the breakfast spread quite dissatisfying as there could have been more continental options to suit different taste buds.

Please do not be fooled by the pretty view because the same is not matched by their service. The front desk lacks basic courtesy and needs to be taught a lesson or two on how a service industry works. We were made to wait for 5 hours before we were handed the key to our rooms. All the while that we waited at the reception, not even a glass of water was offered and when asked for, we were told that it’s hotel policy to serve water only in rooms and one can choose to buy a bottle for 50 baht from their restaurant. Money aside, hotel industry standards should not be allowed to be let down by these self imposed policies to the detriment of their guests. To my great surprise, I am yet to come across a front desk as insensitive and incompetent, which I must say is a difficult mix to find. It’s a shame to call this place a 4 star hotel.

My hubby and I just spent 8 nights at the sarann.
Depending on what your expecting it can be a let down for a 4 star resort.
Start with the pros I felt the staff were very friendly and helped out with any requests we had.
We got upgraded to a jacuzzi villa from a deluxe which was nice as it was next to the sea front villas and we couldn't hear the busy road behind us only waves.
Beautiful view over the water as it is at the far end of the beach.
True that there are rocks there but u can walk down stairs onto beach and walk 15 metres and Ur on normal sand and water so not an issue.
Bed was comfy so we're the pillows not like home but is anywhere really.
Room service was good they changed towels at request.
Cons
Pool is nice not overly big or deep and is an infinity pool overlooking ocean and has a small baby pool attached although not really accessibly friendly as trying to get out is a big step up with a weird plank missing in wood so u can trip very easily and no rails to help u up if elderly.
If u like to tan by pool they do have sun chairs but the sun never hits those by the pool u have to get out of pool and walk around near lobby and water feature to go down stairs and there is a deck with more sun lounging chairs at bottom of the infinity pool which can be a little annoying if u want to take a dip again u have to go back up.
So pretty much layout is poorly designed.
The wild ginger restaurant we had breakfast lunch and dinner included but only ate breakfast and 1 lunch and 1 dinner.
The food although edible the buffet brekfast offers a range of different things daily but I wouldn't call it 4 star.
They made delicious omelettes though so that with some toast when the power board wouldn't trip the toaster was good.
Fresh fruit everyday was also nice but mediocre for the rest of food.
The lovely staff at restaurant was probably the highlight.
The room we were given was huge big bed huge bathroom that led out onto jacuzzi which was nice it was clean.
The downfall of the room was the smell it had compare to Australian standards was a bit like mould. Wether there is no water proofing done I'm not sure but when u would come back from being out of room and back in the smell would hit u.
Wooden blinds some were a bit broken down bottom which didnt really bother me and Floorboards are a bit up and down but again wasn't a massive concern for me as we didn't spend that much time in room.
Sheets were clean and bed was made up daily.
Flat screen TV if that's what u call it was small and only had news no movie channels access and not new enough for u too screen a movie from phone onto it so forced to watch stuff on phone when WiFi didn't play up which was fairly often.
Location of resort is situated away from the busy area of chaweng but is unfortunately off a very busy main road with no pedestrian access or footpaths onto road so impossible to walk anywhere only if u take beach access.
There are a few restaurants around but again not close enough to walk so if game enough u can rent a scooter which I was not not brave enough and if uve seen the way every one drives u would understand why.
So we caught taxi everywhere which can get pricey when added up, although we were lucky enough to meet a fantastic taxi driver named din who speaks good English and gave a good fare to places. Also helped us out when we needed to go places or speak Thai.
Hubby used gym and said it was good and we booked a couples massage there again place was very dark, friendly staff and gave good massage but that weird mouldy smell was a turn off definitely had a better experience further down the road at a day spa to really pamper ourselves. Again depending on what Ur preferences are but if your after 5 star resort with beach access and luxury and closer to everything you will definitely pay more.

We had a really nice stay here, the reason for a four star is because as said there are a couple of things that needed some work on, floor boards and only one shower head will work but overall I really enjoyed the room. The air conditioning was located in the perfect spot. It was clean and bed was nice! Had a cute outside area and also a spa outside. Location was a bit far away from any bars ect.. but it was by a beautiful beach. Would definitely stay here again.
